Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of Sea N' Soul INC, a resale application and technology company. We’re a specific marketplace for outdoor adventure gear and apparel, including products for surfing, skateboarding, mountain biking, and kayaking, as well as wetsuits, brand apparel, and t-shirts. All of our products are resale, either C2C or B2C.

What challenge were you trying to address with Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, LLP?

We hired SA&M to help us set our entity and support us with our legal needs.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SA&M helped us set up our entity, got us our employer identification number (EIN), and registered us as a B Corporation in the state of Delaware. We just informed them what our company was about, and they took it from there.

Throughout our engagement, they’ve provided us with many documents for our legal needs, such as our term of service agreement, our privacy policy, and other employment documents. Currently, they also give us legal advice when needed. For example, SA&M helped us review our contract with the development company that built our app.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with four people from SA&M, including a very helpful tax attorney.

We were referred to SA&M by a friend of ours. We met and liked them, so we started working together.

We’ve invested around $10,000.

We started working together in January 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SA&M has been helpful in multiple ways, from setting our legal entity to giving us advice on the legal aspects of tax accounting, which has been incredibly valuable for us.

How did Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, LLP perform from a project management standpoint?

SA&M performs great. The only downside was that they took more time than expected to set up everything. We mostly communicate via email and phone calls, but we’ve also used video conferencing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

SA&M’s knowledge is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their work takes a long time to get done, so it could be improved.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend meeting them in person at the beginning of the project to establish rapport.
