I’m an executive at a financial services startup. We offer digital and offline financial services, including business valuations, feasibility studies, bank loan assessments, financial due diligence, corporate finance treasury, and capital management.

What challenge were you trying to address with Testvox?

We developed a web application and needed assistance to test the system and design. We encountered several mistakes during development and needed assistance from an external team. We needed a fresh set of eyes.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Testvox tested our web application and UI/UX design. We had initial meetings with Testvox to explain our app and how it worked. Testvox informed us they didn’t have a certified UI/UX designer, but they were experienced enough to provide feedback about our app’s UI/UX design, which I had created. I finished the app’s UI/UX design with Testvox’s feedback and recommendations. 

Testvox’s main task was to test our app’s functionality. They sent us detailed reports with their findings, and we fixed the app’s issues with their feedback. Testvox conducted functional testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, and regression testing. We had a tight deadline to meet, which was why Testvox didn’t perform automated testing. 

Our project consisted of two phases, and we have two types of users: the regular users are our end clients, and our employees are the web admins for now.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Testvox’s team leader and two test engineers, including Anjana (Test Automation Engineer).

How did you come to work with Testvox?

I found Testvox through a Google search. My partner and I talked to 2–3 companies and chose Testvox because they assured us they could meet our timeline. We signed an NDA and a business proposal before Testvox started working on our project. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $4,500 AED (approximately $1,200 USD) with Testvox. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our initial contact with Testvox took place in the last week of January 2023, and we concluded our project in March 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Testvox found bugs and issues that I hadn’t noticed before, and that were supposed to be fixed already. Some were spelling mistakes in the coding, and some were more complicated technical issues. Testvox also found issues in my UI/UX design that helped me improve and finish it. They were thorough and discovered several bugs I completely missed.

Overall, Testvox met my expectations, and I’m satisfied with their work. I’d work with them again for a testing project. 

How did Testvox perform from a project management standpoint?

Testvox was organized and thorough with their work. We had several meetings throughout our engagement, and after conducting a particular test, Testvox sent us a report via email, including their findings and detailed recommendations. We met the next day to discuss that report, and Testvox also tracked all their finding in Trello.

My company joined Trello during this engagement, and I asked Testvox to record all their work and findings in Trello tickets. They also included screenshots of the errors they found during testing.

Testvox also sent Microsoft Excel files where they tracked their work and findings. Testvox assigned a color code to the bugs they found, so I could recognize which type of issue it was. We used Slack to communicate. 

At the end of each project’s phases, Testvox sent us a final report in a PDF file detailing all the work they realized. These reports included the number of bugs Testvox found and the resolution. We also had a concluding meeting where Testvox delivered a final report and asked for our feedback. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

After Testvox finished the project’s first phase, we asked them to wait 2–3 weeks before starting the second phase. This caused our project to last four weeks longer than expected. Testvox was patient and didn’t mind waiting. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only issue I had with Testvox was when I asked them to go over all the Trello tickets they had created, and Testvox said they’d charge me for it since it would take a long time. When I asked the reason, Testvox let me know they used the free version of Trello. I offered to pay for Trello’s premium version, but Testvox said they’d find another way to fix it. However, I don’t recall how they addressed this issue.

Another thing I encountered was during the project’s first phase. We gave Testvox three days to check our design and five days to test the entire system. They met the deadline, however, I found bugs that weren’t tracked on their reports. When I asked Testvox about this, they told me they had found the bug but recorded it in a different file, which I honestly thought they said to cover themselves. 

Overall, I had a good experience working with Testvox, and we addressed these issues as they arose.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend spending time reviewing Testvox’s findings and results. Be thorough when you provide feedback to Testvox. I wish I had done that during this project.

We have a testing team in-house, but we needed additional resources to manually test our clients’ software manually, which entailed an amount of work beyond our capacity.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Testvox’s management and testing team were excellent to work with. I never had any issues in maintaining a good relationship with them. 

We base the quality of their work on the number of bugs they identify and give back to the developer. After the bug is cleared, they test it again and give it clearance. We have a benchmark on how many test papers they can write in a day. 

Two of Testvox’s resources performed okay, and one teammate was excellent. Overall, they delivered and met our expectations.

How did Testvox perform from a project management standpoint?

We didn’t involve them in project management — they only worked with our team. We used Zoho and Jira to keep track of everything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Testvox was dedicated to the project. They made sure to cover everything they’re supposed to do. We were happy working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I didn’t personally manage them since they were part of our bigger team. That said, I don’t have anything negative to say about their performance. We will definitely consider working with them again if they are a match for our future projects.

I recommend trying them.

We started in December 2020, and we’re still working with them to provide quarterly performance analysis for the company that hired us.

Testvox is pretty good at what they do — there’s nothing negative I can say. They’ve been impressive in terms of delivering on par with our requirements. Our client is equally impressed with their work, too.

We mainly communicate via phone calls. Testfox has great communication skills, and this makes our project go smoothly.

I’ve worked with other testing companies, but Testvox's honest approach and high-quality work definitely distinguish them.

They could work on lowering the cost of their services.

Be precise about your requirements and have everything properly documented. Testvox will deliver the best results if they have sufficient requirements and documents to work with.

We’re an IT solutions company that provides consultancy services to businesses in media and advertising, telecommunications, and other sectors.

What challenge were you trying to address with Testvox?

We have several ongoing projects with a very big company that is spread across Europe and the Middle East and is expanding in other regions. Since they didn’t want to reach out to multiple vendors, we’re assisting them with a specific task along with Testvox.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Now, Testvox provides ongoing QA services for our client’s software. Whenever a new feature is added to the dashboard, their team tests and verifies it before it goes live.

Our client was initially experiencing issues with the quality of the product features and with the way these were behaving in the live environment. Any new feature being introduced was breaking the code so Testvox has stepped in to do regression testing. 

While we were evaluating Testvox, they had also identified other features that needed to be tested and organized the priorities. They have helped us automate all the identified test cases, which, at the time, were about 50. Today, we’ve automated about 350 test cases. We’ve also scheduled daily checks to ensure that the dashboard is up and running.

An automation tester is assigned to our project.

How did you come to work with Testvox?

Our client wanted us to work with someone we could vouch for, so we went forward and started evaluating vendors. We inquired within our network and someone provided Testvox as a reference. We evaluated them for about a month, during which they conducted manual testing and went through the entire dashboard, which is very comprehensive.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about 6 or 7 lakhs of rupees (approximately $8,000–$10,000 USD). We have an hourly contract.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2020 and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re very happy with Testvox’s work. The quality of their code and automation cases are very impressive. The team has the ability to enhance their own code and make it more robust when things need to scale up. They’re really cooperative in that sense.

How did Testvox perform from a project management standpoint?

A project management process doesn’t really apply to our scenario since we only have one resource of theirs on board. We mostly communicate through Google Meet, phone calls, and emails for official purposes. We also have a daily stand-up meeting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate Testvox’s pricing structure. The cost at which they operate is affordable for us so it’s easy to accommodate them in big projects. They are also very cooperative and will get involved in case there are any shortcomings. They would either arrange alternatives or find an advisor to help us out.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve a bit on communication because there’s very little of it coming from the management. There should at least be a routine call to check in on what’s happening. Their management never calls and their response time is a little slow. In that respect, relationship management is lacking.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear with your requirements and Testvox will surely do well. If there’s anything uncertain within your requirements, that’s when things can get a little messy for them. Figuring out the requirements takes time but it should be well-documented and clear-cut.

I am the CEO and founder of IOCOD, where we create finance industry software for clients in Europe. We do Laravel and PHP programming.

What challenge were you trying to address with Testvox?

We had three projects that needed testing. We would usually have an internal team conduct the testing, but we preferred the QA to be made by an outside entity, so we hired Testvox.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Testvox has reported many issues on our system. I’m hands-free in the entire process, with someone else focusing on programming, while their team conducts the testing.

What is the team composition?

Three people from Testvox are dedicated to this project, two of whom sometimes join our meetings to make sure everything is going well. Recently, we’ve decided to add more people to the team.

How did you come to work with Testvox?.

I didn’t have experience looking for their type of services. I came to know them in a meet-up and eventually decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, I’ve been paying 80,000 rupees per month (approximately $1,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working for more than a year since around April 2020. The project is still ongoing.

Testvox has made our system professional. They’ve implemented a system that has the proper testing tools. Whatever they find missing in quality, we can correct on our side.

How did Testvox perform from a project management standpoint?

We have stand-up calls everyday to make sure that the project is going smoothly and use Jira as a project management tool.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Testvox personally cares about the project. Sometimes I hesitate to inform them if something is not going well, but when I do, they are on top of everything and would follow up with me to make sure everything is in order. When there are issues in the system, the team will go through a lot of steps to prevent it from happening again.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would ask for more flexibility from Testvox, since my clients are based in the US. I didn’t ask for this arrangement in the first place, but I’m hoping that perhaps 2–3 people from the team could be dedicated to the night shift.

Don’t delay the hiring procedure to make your project move along faster.

Testvox found some of the bugs in the learning management system (LMS). When we wanted clarification as to why certain issues were happening, Testvox involved a consultant that turned out to be a very good resource. This wasn’t part of the contract, but Testvox did it anyways. 

How did Testvox perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is good. They’ve met all of the deadlines, and we’ve gotten deliveries on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re really good. Compared to two other testing companies I was involved with in the past, Testvox is good. They go the extra mile and meet all deadlines. The other companies took a lot longer, and the testing wasn’t done properly, which is why we had to look into another option.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Testvox could do better invoicing. They just send an email notice, and we can’t pay through their web system.

We didn’t tell them much about our product because we wanted to do this monkey testing. We made sure that our developers and their testers were talking to each other.

Storilabs is a startup working on e-commerce and digital advertising tools. We’ve been in the market for the last three years, and we have 4–5 customers on the digital marketing and e-commerce side. We offer our solutions to small businesses. There are around 25 people working for our company, and I’m the CEO. I take care of delivery and operations.

What challenge were you trying to address with Testvox?

We’re the authority for our main offering, but we were looking for an external company to handle its quality assessment.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The platform is bespoke, not based on an existing e-commerce product like Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce. We cater to customers looking to move away from those for various reasons, from scaling to customization. We also offer consultation to customers, keeping in mind their own business strategies and processes.

Testvox was mainly involved in the testing and QA for the e-commerce functionalities of our platform. They’ve built a knowledge base on e-commerce, and they offer their employees training on the QA process.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with four people from Testvox so far: one manager and three quality engineers. We started with two people initially, then increased the account. We’re working with three people at the moment.

How did you come to work with Testvox?

We have 3–4 vendors working for us, and we go to them whenever we need technical help on things for which we don’t have the skill or capacity. We got a reference for Testvox from one of those vendors, so we approached them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Testvox around February 2018 and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have our own criteria for determining the number of test cases and amount of code coverage Testvox should do, as well for the number of defects we can afford in production. In most of the cases, they’ve met our expectations. Everything they’ve given us has been good.

We’ve made a product release for one of our UK-based customers, and Testvox did a great job there. The product environment is stable, and we haven’t had many issues.

How did Testvox perform from a project management standpoint?

I do some people management, but Testvox takes care of training and everything else, so I can simply tell them how many people I need for the job. They will be already trained, so I don’t need to spend my time on these activities. When one of their team members left, they replaced that person with two others who took care of the tasks. We were really appreciative of that.

We were using OpenProject and other web tools earlier, but we work mostly through Trello now.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The part I respect the most about them as a company is that they take responsibility. Compared to the other companies I’ve worked with, I felt that Testvox had a sense of responsibility from their employees as well, not only their management. I wouldn’t say they are the best, but, as far as I can see, they’re really good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Most of the time, we couldn’t convince them to come to our office, but they have done it on occasion. There were cases when they missed meetings, but they’ve solved that communication issue. It’s possible they didn’t take approval from their managers or didn’t communicate properly when that happened.

Testvox should be aggressive on the business side and look for more opportunities. They’re performing their duties well, but I felt they’re not aggressive enough in business. They should come to us and ask if there’s something else they could do.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of Xyloop, a B2B SaaS product for enabling productivity. Our product allows businesses to manage employees working in the field.

What challenge were you trying to address with Testvox?

We hired Testvox to test our Android mobile app and AngularJS web app. Our product digitizes the management process, enables real-time information sharing, and provides a work portal between backend management and agents. My company needed to test the app to ensure these processes were functioning correctly. We wanted a robust app that we could get to market quickly.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Testvox tested performance and UI/UX of the web and mobile apps. The team assessed the compatibility of the apps on different devices. They also tested geofencing and imaging features and various functionalities of the work portal, such as image sharing and customer signatures.

What is the team composition?

Although I wasn’t personally involved in the project very much, I had interactions with Pradeep (Founder and Chief Testing Officer, Testvox) and a couple of his teammates.

How did you come to work with Testvox?

Pradeep and I had been colleagues. I discovered on LinkedIn that he offered professional testing services, so my company reached out to him.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Testvox in October 2018– February 2019.

Testvox proactively identified issues. Their expertise provided us with a good foundation for our app.

They were adept in operational matters, but we wanted broader metrics for overall test coverage and impact.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Have a preliminary meeting and present the general task. This helps build rapport. Clients have nothing to worry about; Testvox will do a good job.
