Anchour originally developed and launched an updated website for us in 2022.  In 2025, we were looking for updated navigation, streamlined landing pages, and assistance with promoting a new/unique loan product in the home loan market.  The work Anchour provided included a completely updated navigation/user experience, continued refinement of SEO, updated product pages, and a brand new page that succinctly captured the uniqueness and appeal of our home loan offering.

Page views and CTR on the new home loan page have been at or near the top of all page view metrics for the past several months.

Our primary contact at Anchour was very responsive and kept us looped into progress.  We did hope for the project to move faster, but that is likely the sentiment of any client eager to launch a new product/offering.

The most impressive quality of Anchour is the high character of their team.  I have not worked with anyone at Anchour who doesn't approach their work and their clients with respect, class, and a graciousness that starts from the very top.

Overall, we are very happy with Anchour and the service/support we have received for 3+ years.  There are times when it does feel like they could knock off some smaller items more quickly rather than having them seemingly slowed by internal processes.

I’m the CMO of Walden Local, a modern farmers’ market. We work with 50 regenerative farms in New England and New York and deliver meat and provisions to people from New Jersey to Maine. We have 26,000 members and have focused on growing our business and delighting our members.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Anchour has helped us with branding and web design. They’ve also assisted us with media planning and buying, creative development, and search engine marketing (SEM). They’ve helped us in almost a full-service capacity.

The process started with an audit of our website, communications, and member base. We went through that audit together and uncovered opportunities to improve our design, branding, communications, and media. That led to a series of briefs that guided their work and helped Anchour understand what to focus on.

From there, they’ve created everything from brand guidelines to individual email and SMS communications and everything in between. They’ve helped us reset our brand, creating assets for Facebook, Instagram, email, and our website. They use Klaviyo for email marketing. We’ve also created some assets for connected TV using MNTN.

We work with around 16 people from their team, including the CEO.

Anchour was referred to us by our CEO, who had worked with them previously. He had a fantastic experience with them. I had also heard about their experience, attention to detail, and passion through word of mouth. They came highly recommended, so we didn't conduct a massive agency search.

We started working with Anchour on the day I was hired, which was in April 2024. The engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Anchour has provided fantastic deliverables. They’ve done an incredible job helping to reset the Walden brand and put it on a new course for growth. Since we started working with Anchour, we’ve grown every month. Previously, we had a declining member base, and the last two months have been the first two positive growth months the company has seen since 2022. That’s a massive improvement, and Anchour has done that with 75% less spending than we were doing before. They’re doing more with less.

Moreover, the entire Anchour team has been fantastic; everybody has contributed to our project meaningfully. I've been very impressed with the whole team.

How did Anchour perform from a project management standpoint?

Anchour is incredibly organized. We do everything through Slack, and they always seem open and available to talk about anything at any time. They make sure we’re focused on the right projects and direct our resources in the right way. They’re a natural extension of our team. I consider them part of our marketing team.

They don’t feel like an agency; they feel like part of the company. They're integrated with and deeply focused on our business. They’ve visited our warehouses and farms. From a project management perspective, they’re incredibly detail-oriented. They have open, clear, and honest communication. They’re deeply embedded in the business.

We use Slack, Jira, and Asana for project management. We also use Klaviyo for email and Mountain for connected TV.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about Anchour is their focus on action. When we come up with an idea, they put it into action immediately. For example, if we have an idea for a product, they’ll prototype a webpage and experience for that product. This way, we can quickly understand how the product might work. They do it very fast; oftentimes, it happens as we’re discussing the idea in the meeting.

They’re action-oriented. While many agencies tend to discuss PowerPoint slides and theory, Anchour is about action and tangible impact.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I can think of that they need to change.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My natural instinct is to suggest hiring them. However, I think you should be ready to have a different view of your business. They’ll come in with challenging thoughts on things that could be different. They’re not afraid of letting the data lead. In some cases, that uncovers some ugly truths about a business, and I think that’s been an incredibly productive conversation for us.

For example, we thought our website was fine and that our product was the issue. However, it turned out that the website’s conversion rate in certain places was terrible, and nobody had looked at it that way before. Anchour had a different angle and suggested some different approaches that were counterintuitive to our existing approach.

They’re not afraid to stir things up, and it’s always in service of impact and moving the business forward. If you want to get the most out of Anchour, be prepared for those conversations because those are the most important.

In 2020 I purchased a Wilderness Medical Associates International (WMA), a 40-year old Maine-based firm providing wilderness medical training to wilderness educators, backcountry guides, ski patrollers, search and rescue team members, firefighters, rangers, and more around the globe.

Although successful, the company had relied almost entirely on word-of-mouth advertising to promote its courses.  With the arrival of more competition in the wilderness medical training space in recent years, it became clear that our team needed expert help to catapult WMA forward on the marketing front.  

Since the fall of 2021, we have partnered with Anchour to spearhead the overall marketing effort.  We asked Anchour to orchestrate a complete re-design our website, optimize every aspect of the brand experience, build essential tools to target and promote WMA’s course offerings more effectively, and generate the data we need to invest our marketing dollars in the most efficient manner.  Anchour delivered on all counts.

The overall project management at Anchour is impressive.  Depending upon the nature of the project, a team of professionals is assigned to tackle the key tasks led by a project manager who serves as the conduit for all communication.  A project outline with specific schedule is developed and presented before each stage with meetings scheduled to ensure that everyone is on the same page and that the project is on track.  This arrangement proved successful on each one of the project elements.

Following the mass shooting events in Lewiston, Maine on October 25, 2023, Community Concepts, Inc. (CCI) worked with local and State partners to quickly establish a resource center where anyone impacted by the tragedy could access free support and resources. 

We quickly realized the need for branding, resource materials, and a website for the center to best serve those in our community, and partnered with Anchour on the following scope of work: development of a brand name, messaging, brand identity design, signage, marketing materials, and a microsite.

We cannot thank the Anchour team enough for the incredible work, care, and time they dedicated to our project. It was evident from our first interactions with the team how much our community meant to everyone at Anchour. They did not hesitate to swiftly jump into our many, many requests on an extremely tight deadline, and helped us to pinpoint exactly what we needed from a branding and marketing standpoint to best serve our community following the tragedy in October. 

From naming our resource center, now the Maine Resiliency Center, to our branding, website, marketing materials, and marketing plan, the Anchour team was a guiding light for us as our team also pivoted to providing the resources needed to those impacted by the shootings. In parallel, Anchour created marketing roadmap launch and ongoing plan, coordinating all things marketing for the brand.
