Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of AccuZIP, a tech company that develops data quality products & services. For example, if you shop online and go to checkout, it’s probably our technology that verifies who you are to help prevent fraud. Also, if you move somewhere and file a change of address, it’s likely our technology that provides your new address to whoever had your older one. We process a billion records every single day.

We also track any piece of mail or package through USPS, so that’s over a trillion pieces of mail delivered. We know where the mail is every single second of the day.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with iTech Professionals?

The team at iTech Professionals does quite a bit of work for us. The team created a database warehouse that could handle trillions of mail that we track daily.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

For the database, we use PostgreSQL on the backend and Servoy on the frontend. The frontend allows us to connect through web services. We retain them to manage the system in case something goes down.

They provide a wide range of services for us. Along with the database warehouse, they do a lot of frontend work with our real-time mail tracking system. We’ve also integrated our patented technology that allows a mail piece to communicate with their recipients as its traveling through the mail stream. It’s great for support and communication.

What is the team composition?

Right now, we work with a small group of five. Scott (President) acts as the project manager.

How did you come to work with iTech Professionals?

When we started developing the technology, we wanted to use the fastest database. We really liked PostgreSQL, and then to communicate with that, we chose Servoy.

Scott used to work for Servoy. I met him in Amsterdam at one of their conferences. He started iTech Professionals. Since we decided to use Servoy, I got in contact with him to start our technical relationship.

How much have you invested with them?

Over the years, we’ve spent over $2.5–$3 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them for over a decade.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m very impressed with them. iTech Professionals delivers a skilled service. Their team can program in any language, has excellent UX/UI design skills, and always comes under budget and on time.

Their work has helped us scale. A lot of what they’re doing is helping us grow through segmenting partitions. We use a lot of partitioning based on date ranges, so when we’re querying values, we can limit it to those tables. They’re experts at this.

If I need them to shift their priorities, they’ll put everything else on the side. Their flexibility is great. If they have to help with another client, they’re honest as well.

How did iTech Professionals perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management standpoint, they’ve been absolutely phenomenal. They’re very good at writing queries, managing data, and organizing projects. Each week, Scott organizes the sprints. They use Scrum-based programming methods and Clubhouse. We have weekly meetings with them, and I receive a detailed set of notes from his end. We gather information from both sides to ensure our meetings are productive.

Everything is well-documented. Along with their notes, they put together comprehensive agendas for me. Since everything is documented, we can go back and view everything. If I need them to jump in on the weekend, they’ll take care of it for me.

What did you find most impressive about them?

While they have a lot of clients, I feel like I’m their only client. Their personalized service stands out. I can shoot them a Slack, and I’m answered right away. If something is down, they’ll take care of it right away. My whole business has grown because of customer service, so I know how important that is.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that they need to improve on. If I need to communicate something with them, I’m honest.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Lay out your tasks and requirements clearly. Be respectful to people. All of that, and they’ll bend over backward for you.
