Hajjee (複数形 Hajjees)

1. (Islam) One who participates in the Hajj.

     On his way thither he met an ancient Hajjee, who, saluting Hussun, surveyed him carefully, and then desired him to sit down beside him upon a mat which, he spread upon the ground.

     The Hajjee performs the prescribed rites, following the order of the farewell pilgrimage in prayers and physical movement to the various sites as performed by the Prophet Mohammed in 632 AD.

     During the period between 1992 and 1996, five to thirty one per thousand of all deaths among Hajjees were due to diabetic coma.

     This is especially true during the climax period, when all Hajjees move at the same time between holy places over five days. During these five days, Hajjees usually walk many kilometres daily, do not sleep well, and do not get proper diet or nutrition.
