The name Iluppaiyur is derived from "Iluppai tree". Nadar and chediyar cast people only ruling this villege. Nadars found a sangam to ruled this village. Nadars are the most importances to develope this village. Nadars provide the land to construct the government schools and librairy. Also Nadar sangam manages the school. The name as NKV SALA (Nadar Kshathriya Vidhya Sala). Agricultural is the main source of the peopel. Gundaru is a sub river from Vaigai. It flows through Iluppaiyur. Most of the time it is dry and out of water. Water will come only during flood time. This river is our mother. Because this river is the only one source of water for our people living here.
