1. (chiefly heraldry) Pale-like, vertical.
   • 1972, Marvin H. Pakula, Heraldry and Armor of the Middle Ages:

     It is essentially the upper portion (または triangle) of the saltire met slightly above the fess point by a palewise line originating from the middle base. No varied field Bendy seems to have been adopted from this division.
