You are not wrong :D I think I have explained somewhere that I have had a very busy year, new studies, new job etc. But I still want to write but the main story takes much much more focus due to all the options and coding. It is rather a lot after work and studies.  I have been chipping away at it in little bits, but the side stories are so much easier to write when you have limited energy and time. I will freely admit to perhaps getting distracted with what felt easy. But you are right, I should wrangle all those "CODE THIS" and "WRITE OPTIONS" bits in the current C4 draft one at time and get more of it done. 

So I think one more Ebb of Silence part (so two more to be made public) and then that is done.  Obviously one of those is completely done since it is on KoFi and one is very nearly done, waiting for a proper read. I will do my best to force to focus on the main story when I work on writing but the fact stand that real life can get in the way and it is much slower than normal writing. That just means it will take a while :D 

I will, though I have no intention to abandon it. I mean that progress may be slower than I plan :D 

I would hope so :D However, I should mention my plans rarely work out, so I will just say I will try. 

Ah, yeah I checked. It seems to be a consistency issue, i.e. me forgetting staying in the garden was an option :D I will try and fix it at some point.

Curiosity is fine :D Unfortunately, I am nowhere where I would want to be in terms of progress. 

C4 is a bunch of disconnected bits and "WRITE THE OPTIONS" and "CODE THIS" bits that need all be woven together and things filled out. And there is a ton of writing still to do for the actual content too, not just connecting things. I don't have a wordcount to give since there is stuff in twine and several bits in word etc. 

I know this is probably not something that anyone wants to hear, myself included, but honesty is good in my books. I work on it in in my free time, but after C3 I have also 1) started new studies 2) started a new job. So real life has been intruding a bunch on said free time.  So progress is slower than wanted.

Ah, now I remember... by looking at how to do it. Not so much "investigate" as randomly wander over. The chain of events is roughly: After waking up, try to tear off the bandages, look for something to cut them off, refuse to be beaten by a drawer and choose the appropriate response.

The stats don't matter for finding these choices (or much in general at the moment). It is just 1) Have the choices visible. If you skip to C1 for example I think it is off by default. At the bottom of the character profile there is the cencor button but the change does  not happen until the next page if I remember correctly. So maybe go back one page and put it on. 

2) Find the "path". In chapter 1 there are a few spots, including the tongue thing. But I think you need to run away from Havard (the Custodian) to find it, I do not remember the details.  Also if you want angst, investigate the table after waking up as much as possible. 

3) In Chapter 3 there is the is the garden scene which you just need to choose the options for (and go on the tour with Lexia). Here the flavor text changes somewhat with your trust stat, I think.

The "other work" I think is just "Tales From The Past" that is accessed through the main menu, it is currently a Havard backstory (in progress) so it has no choices...

The story is being actively written (as the devlog shows), some days more than others. All on my free time and for fun. Currently, I have a bit of C4 and that is it.

I have no DL, but I will be honest, it will be several years unless I this is the only thing I focus on.  Which it will not be unless something drastic happens in my life, and then I would need to monetize heavily. 

Very happy to hear all that :D I am honored at such high praise.  I will try to remember to include small choices. It is just a habit that they tend to balloon out to include so many options so I try to streamline at times :D Gotta try to control myself!

I did consider it at some point, but decided I already have enough complications :D I think now I know the data structures a bit more, and it would be easier. But this seems like something to do when doing coding revisions which will need to be done at some point :D

Perfectly valid criticism. I do perhaps overindulge in POV:s since I rather like writing them :D But as I one of the posts about C3 said, I think here, there are some problems with the pacing due to this habit :D 

I think after C2 I asked a poll about povs in which majority of people were ok with them or indifferent at the very least :D But of course, many more people now. And I think that was specifically about when MC is "coping."  I found it, here. 

Perhaps I will do another poll at somet point :D

 I think that line was more about natural things i.e. beasts and such rather than supernatural beings.  Perhaps I should give this some more thought :D 

Current thoughts: 

I would say, an entire race does not qualify and there is more consideration to be had. For example, a fire elemental is probably not super welcome amidst dryads :D A rock elemental? Probably harmless. 

But beastkin, elves and fey are probably more likely to see one, though not guaranteed or even close. Disregarding personal power of course. 

However, I think MC with the dryad heritage could perhaps get a glimpse.  Or with some other heritage, if they seem to enjoy the forests.  

Or just because they have a very nice cloak :D

Understandable of course, but I don't have much more written yet, and I can't just make it appear :D The player character is by far the slowest to write since that is so coding heavy. Hence the vote offering something I have already written and was planning on using a bit later in the demo.

Sorry, but at the moment I will not post a downloadable version, I would need to make a different cleaned up version, the game file has stuff not meant for the public yet and in an downloadable version all of it could be peeked at much easier. I might do it if enough people want it, but in the current state I will not post a downloadable file.

That is at least the current plan. I am not promising it of course, it is far away, but That is what my notes say :D

So I have did not add the option. I do prefer text over pictures (since finding the location is easier with copying text into a search field since there are like... 500ish different pages in the demo twine. Sure, I can write it, but unless it is exactly the same, it won't work.

So I suppose there are a few options: 1) I make a separate google sheet for file uploads only (since I think the whole form gets the log in requirement due to the possibility of upload so I might not be able to make it into the same form) 2) We skip that and just use email or 3) Pictures in the comments (not preferable since spoilers for people scrolling by but I have allowed it in the past).

Let me know what you prefer! 

I meant the option to censor some choices that was implemented already in the first published demo :D It is there when you start a new game, or in the profile at the bottom.

I think you can do the eye color after the heritage features and vice versa. Or that is the way it is supposed to be, unless there is a bug. Sure there could be some more flavor text doing it the other way.

Thirdly, In the future, please use the google forms provided for bugs, for example above in the game description. That has been created specifically for this so organizing what bugs I have fixed becomes much easier for me. 

Edit: And once again, is this the newest version of the demo? Because I cannot get either of those coding errors, so is it due to my choices or them having already been fixed.

glad you like the game :D The version here is only up until C2. The demo with early access to Chapter 3 is currently only available through Kofi. Please see the update on the blog.  Or on the corresponding status update. 

It will still be some time before C3 will become publicly accessible, I don't have an exact date. I am arguing writing one more location for the tour.

I will investigate the name thing and typos.  Actually I think I have fixed both already :D Maybe, I will need to test it out. The loose hair thing should have been fixed already for the kofi demo at some point. So did this come up recently? Or on an old save?  

Happy to hear C3 was not horrible, even in the current state :D The writing sessions there was so disjointed so I was worried! Though I already noticed some bugs, but if you did not trust the adults, it will not have been so noticeable :D  Well the one I found at least, I am sure there is more. That variable had a typo in a few spots that always lead to MC being very suspicious.

I am having a good morning, and therefore the following option will be added to C1 (and about 250 unique words since this choice adds some flavor text to a few places) whenever I update the next time :D Though I did not look at what I wrote later when being given stuff.

I do try to be honest about this: some of the heritage features are much more cosmetic than others. The more there are, and there already are quite many, the more true this becomes. I am not opposed to adding stuff, but the changes of me forgetting the option increases :D 

I have added the teeth to my notes, though there is tons of stuff there from the blog and comments.

Secondly, I have fixed most of these, though I have not updated the demo. The pdf version of the story in kofi still has all the typos, I might fix that later.

Edit: I updated the demo :D 

Though I have to say, the "..." thing is probably in there a thousand+ times, so I am not fixing all of that right now for part 1 and the main demo :D And I can see part 2 still has lots of those too.

The "...", I try to use it to mark hesitation/thinking but I think I do it too much. It's really a problem, I do it in my emails irl now too. 

Thirdly, there is an email in the game description that you can use for things like this, if that is preferable. 

Fourthly, the blog does contain a lot of snippets etc. based on asks. Other stuff too, but those tend to dominate. There is also just one big file where I dump the asks and the snippets (all of them), available through kofi for supporters.  Though, I have to say that it is a nightmare of chaos, typos and grammar. I might sometimes fix minor things in the blog, but I usually just leave whatever the "first draft" was in the pdf file.

Update: Should be fixed now! At least on my own phone,. I can now exit the menu... even if the clear saves button seems to now overlap with something. Though this seems to depend on which way you hold your phone.
