This is my first POSTED fic. This is the first fic I felt confident enough to put out there ! There has been MANY attempt at writing before this one. Now apologize to all my cringey unposted WIPs that helped me improve my writing style !!
This is all said in an extremely silly tone, but really, you’re right, this isn’t my first try at writing and I never wanted to pretend it was ! I have been writing for YEARS ! A least a decade ! I just. Didn’t feel confident about it until recently, and thanks to LU fandom that looked kind enough to try to put my writing out there :]

Actually the way you render all around is incredible ! There’s so many touches of colors that make things pop, I see all the colors in Legend’s tail… Gorgeous !
Speaking of him, LEGEND !!! My boy has such a great expression and body language there. I’m ovsessed with his hands in particular, he’s not looking too sure of himself in how he reaches for the apple… It’s just very expressive !

You did this AT THE BEACH !??!?! Not only is that so cool, IT’S LOOKING SO GOOD !
There’s so many little details in the fins and tail !! And the look of his hair is great, too, it does look like it’s floating around and getting poofy in water <3
I can’t help but thinking that if you did this outside you were limited in colors, but I also refuse to believe it because it’s just the perfect colors everywhere. He’s pink with golden accents ! He’s lined in purple ! There’s NUANCES !!

The angle is so beautiful !! With the seaweed’s shadow and all. The was Legend’s tail sparkles is so satisfying, I can picture how the texture would feel.
And the fact that you managed to include Wild at such a dramatic angle is frankly impressive ! Look at this boy peeling an apple in one go without breaking the skin. Always a cook !

Found your dtiys challenge and just had to try it!
I imagined the caves to be more granite-like but the spiky blue look was fun to render
went a bit nuts when adding the luminous stones

The expressions are so well done ! Legend looks just happy to just play with Wild. No more stressful thoughts ! I wouldn’t say the same for Wild though…

Legend looks unsure about this ceiling hand suddenly, with his expression and pose (clutching the seashell)… Made me think of the scene where they blow up one end of the cave to get him out. He’s suspicious !
The red eyes are such a good look with his pink hair and tail though !
At first I thought Wild was just reaching for Legend, but then I realized he’s lurING HIM WITH AN APPLE SLICE ! Adorable adorable ! His expression makes it look like they’ve been doing the game for a while, too, almost comfy…I’m holding them both very gently
And they probably did do that for a while, because the slate is having (squints) 29 seashells, oh my ! I snorted when I got it hahaha. (And I believe the other bubble is the wind waker ? Wind is calling !)

A dtiys apparently based on their wonderful fic, A Cave Like a Net, which..I have not read yet, but I swear I will eventually!! I just saw this challenge a few times on my recommended and barked like a starved dog looking for opportunities to contribute to lu Tumblr. Please spare me, I’m just a humble ADHD chipmunk I’ll read it later I swear,,,, “boooo! Tomato tomato!!”
In line with his trademark pinkness, Legend is loosely based on the pink grass guppy, which I got by looking up “pink fish” and taking the first result. Go me.
Bye now, I’ll be retreating to my perpetual non-existence hole again.
Bahahaha your post made me laugh a lot ! But it’s a great way to make clear that reading the fic is not a requirement to participate in the DTIYS if anyone is anxious about that ! Not only do I have literally zero way to know (unless tomatoes are getting thrown in the post itself), but also I just don’t want to lock a fun drawing behind a 30k words read. All Mer Legend enthusiasts are welcomed !

PRETTY AAAARTTTTTTTTTT !!!!! Legend’s big poofy mermaid tail is beautiful ! And the hair being longer in places looks so good with the fins… I also love the look of keeping bracelets/jewels while he’s mer-ified (definitely not having drawing ideas there…)
Plus the composition around Wild is SO COOL ! The way the luminous ore is surrounding him looks beautiful and make the light very powerful ! The fact that you kept the apple makes me happy hehehe <3 And the sheikah writing ??!! It goes so well with the light around !

Poor Wild looks so uncomfortable ! It looks like he’s looking at Lege’s hand and assessing how much the transformation changed him… He’s worried for his brother :[

Oh I love Wild’s pose so much !! I actually have a wip from ages ago where I tried to draw him like this too, laying down and reaching for Legend. Drawing someone in this pose is HARD (I would know, I gave up lmao), but it came out so good here !
His hair specifically are perfect, it shows the ponytail in a natural way ! And the hand near his face is conveying his anxiety so well. LOVE him !
And the tradeeee ! Legend giving out the seashell <3 his expression is great too, a little unaware, but kind nonetheless….
