Abstract

Cepa bacteriana Peribacillus aracenensis (CECT 30655), microorganismo del grupo de las bacterias Gram +, género Peribacillus, estimulante del metabolismo adaptativo de plantas frente a estrés hídrico, mejoradora de la producción y nutrición vegetal, y mejoradora del contenido en pollfenoles. Esta cepa, aislada a partir de la rizosfera de Pinus pinaster, en agar nutritivo (PCA), ha sido caracterizada desde el punto de vista morfológico, bioquímico y genético mediante secuenciación total de su genoma, identificándose como nueva especie. Puede ser utilizada con objeto de aumentar la producción en condiciones de estrés hídrico, por su capacidad de aumentar la fijación de CO2 y la transpiración, optimizando la captación de energía mediante fotosíntesis y disminuyendo el estrés oxidativo; como biofertilizante, por su capacidad de mejorar la absorción de nutrientes tanto en presencia como en ausencia de estrés hídrico; y para mejorar la calidad de los frutos, por su capacidad de incrementar polifenoles antioxidantes en especies vegetales de interés farmacológico y alimentario.
