Foam-forming component for fire-extinguishing agents which consists of an alkylpolyglycoside of the formula <IMAGE> wherein n is an integer of from 2 to 10 and R is the radical of a fatty alcohol having 6 to 12 C atoms, in particular a fatty alcohol from the group consisting of the primary fatty alcohols.
