Abstract
The method is used in the refining of lead after coarse decoppering. No presence of silver or tin in the smelt is required for its performance. The temperature interval for running the process is extended and that facilitates its practical application, and the quantity of the turned out copper dross is reduced and this makes it easier to remove it from the lead bath. By the method, metallic sodium 0.025-0.04% is introduced in the lead smelt at 330 to 380°C after which sulphur is added to it.
