Abstract
The method is used in the refining of lead after coarse decoppering. No presence of silver or tin in the smelt is required for its performance. The temperature interval for running the process is wider and this facilitate its practical application, and the quantity of the turned out alkaline-sulphide copper dross is smaller. By the method, sodium base 0.3-0.5% and sodium carbonate 0.01-0.015% of the mass of the lead is introduced in the lead smelt at 330-380°C. Then sulphur is added to the lead smelt.
