Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of boats, maritime or river.
- It relates to such a boat provided with a cockpit and a stern area, in particular a pleasure boat.
- Some of these boats have on the aft part of the deck a covered or not covered space, possibly provided with seats, called cockpit. This space is delimited at the rear by a rear beam.
- this type of boat generally has a rear deck on the rear part of the hull, arranged near the surface of the water. This aft deck is used as a platform for swimming when the boat is stopped.
- the rear beam delimiting the cockpit thus acts as a separation barrier between the cockpit and the aft deck.
- Known boats equipped with a cockpit and aft deck, give satisfaction by providing a protected space as well as a platform for swimming.
- the object of the invention is to improve these boats by providing the advantages described below.
- the invention relates to a pleasure boat comprising a cockpit, a rear deck as well as a rear beam separating the cockpit from the rear deck, characterized in that said beam is mounted movable between a rear position in which the cockpit has a maximum area and the rear area has a minimum area, and a forward position in which the cockpit has a minimum area and the rear area has a maximum area.
- the rear beam no longer participates in the rigidity of the boat, which goes against conventional constructions in which the rear beam, or at least its base, is connected to the hull of the boat.
- This mobile arrangement of the aft beam allows to allocate more space respectively to the aft deck or the cockpit, according to the moments.
- this arrangement has the advantage of extending the space privileged according to the moment by the occupants to the detriment of the other.
- the comfort provided by a boat of given dimensions is improved and corresponds to that of a larger boat.
- the invention provides an economic advantage to any owner of a boat which is provided with it, both during the acquisition thereof and thereafter.
- the cockpit floor and the aft deck are arranged in the extension of one another.
- This arrangement allows, when designing the boat, to provide a single surface forming both the cockpit floor than the rear shelf, rather than providing a smooth transition between two floors of different height.
- the beam can be mounted on at least one slide arranged in the longitudinal direction of the boat. This is a simple way to allow effortless movement of the beam, since lifting it is then not necessary.
- the slide can have two longitudinal grooves made in the floor of the boat.
- the beam may include two carriages provided with rollers engaged in said grooves, the bottom of the grooves forming a lower track for the rollers.
- these roller carriages can each be provided with several rollers and, on the other hand, each of these rollers can have several support points, this in order to ensure the stability of the beam both static and during sliding.
- said grooves may advantageously each comprise an upper cover so that said rollers are contained between said lower track and an upper track.
- the boat further comprises means for blocking the movement of the beam.
- These blocking means prevent untimely movements of the beam which could be induced, for example, by the movements of the boat. They can cooperate for this purpose with any support points and tracks mentioned above.
- a portion of the beam is movable relative to the rest of the beam so as to form a door between the cockpit and the aft deck.
- a door is an element of comfort delimiting a passage, which avoids having to step over the beam to pass from the cockpit to the aft deck and vice versa.
- Said door can advantageously be formed by a lateral end of the beam attached to the rest of the beam by a hinge so as to open towards the interior of the cockpit.
- the opening towards the interior of the cockpit guarantees the safety of people in the cockpit since the door cannot be opened by inadvertently pressing on it, it must result from a voluntary maneuver of traction.
- - Figure 2 is a perspective view of the rear of the boat of Figure 1, the rear beam being in the rear position and the door of the rear beam not being shown;
- - Figure 3 is a view similar to Figure 2, the rear beam being in the front position;
- FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view showing the rear beam and the related roller carriages
- FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the beam mounted sliding on two grooves in the floor of the boat, via roller carriages;
- FIG. 6 is a detail view in section showing the profile of a roller engaged in a groove
- FIG. 7 is a partial perspective view of the rear of the boat of Figure 1 showing the beam in the rear position, the door closed, as well as, in Box E, the locking device and its locations.
- Figure 1 shows in perspective a pleasure boat 1. It has on its rear part a cockpit 2 and a rear deck 3 separated from each other by a rear beam 4.
- This beam 4 also includes a door 5 which, when closed (FIGS. 1 and 7), extends the beam 4 to form a barrier closing the rear of the boat 1.
- the cockpit 2 and the aft deck 3 are in the extension of one another, that is to say that one and the same floor 6 constitutes the floor of the cockpit 2 on one side of the beam 4 and the aft deck floor 3 on the other side of the beam 4.
- the cockpit 2 and the aft deck 3 are the same space simply partitioned by the beam 4.
- the beam 4 is longitudinally movable.
- two grooves 7 are made here in the floor 6, intended to allow the beam 4 to slide on the floor 6, in the longitudinal direction D of the boat (FIG. 3).
- Roller carriages 8 here two in number, are fixed on the edge of the beam 4 ( Figure 4). These carriages 8 each comprise two rollers 9 engaging in the grooves 7 mentioned (FIG. 5) by resting on the bottom of the groove 7.
- Figure 6 is a sectional view along a plane perpendicular to the floor 6 and passing through the axis of rotation of one of the rollers 9. The structure of a roller carriage 8 is thus visible.
- the carriage 8 has in this view a body 10, an axis 11 and a roller 9.
- the body 10 is square-shaped so that it can be fixed on the edge of the beam 4 and extend perpendicular to said edge.
- the axis 11 is a shaft extending, for its part, perpendicular to the body 10. On this axis 11 is mounted rotating a roller 9 whose concave profile allows two supports 12 in the bottom of the groove 7.
- the groove 7 is also partially covered by a longitudinal cover 13, fixed to the floor 6 for safety reasons as much as comfort. Only a light 14, suitable for the passage of the body 10 of the roller carriage 8, is left open.
- the beam 4 thus rests on eight supports (four rollers each providing two supports 12) for good stability and sliding without jamming, while the covers 13 prevent any untimely lifting of the beam 4.
- This boat 1 also has means for locking the beam 4 in a given position.
- Bolts 15 are provided on the beam 4 (see FIG. 7) and strikes 16 are placed on the floor 6 and the lateral uprights 17 of the hull, opposite the bolts 15.
- a set of strikes 16 is necessary for each position of the beam 4 that it is desired to be able to lock.
- the strikes and the bolts are interchanged.
- the door 5 is advantageously connected to the beam 4 by hinges so as to be able to close in the extension of the beam 4 (FIGS. 1 and 7) or to open towards the inside the cockpit by folding back against the beam 4.
- FIGs 2 and 3 although the door 5 is not shown there for reasons of clarity, give an overview of the rear of the boat 1 when the door 5 is open.
- the boat 1 described here therefore has a modular rear part which can be used in the following manner.
- the mobility of the beam 4 makes it possible to move the partitioning defining the cockpit 2 and the range 3, to the detriment of one or the other depending on the use which is made of the boat at a given time.
- the beam 4 is in the rear position. This is the most remote position that the beam 4 can take, the cockpit 2 then having a maximum surface and the aft deck 3 with a minimum surface.
- Figure 1 shows in fact a rear shelf 3 reducing to a simple barely protruding rim of the hull.
- This rear position can be locked as mentioned above by the bolts 15 and a set of strikes 16 which are arranged to cooperate with the bolts 15 when the beam 4 is in this rear position.
- the beam 4 in the rear position is locked, the door 5 being closed, which is the configuration of the boat 1 required for navigation.
- the passengers of boat 1 can then have the cockpit 2 in complete safety, while the aft deck 3 which is not used during this navigation phase is used to enlarge the cockpit 2.
- the rear position of the beam 4 is also that shown in FIGS. 2 and 7.
- FIG. 3 shows the beam 4 in the forward position, this configuration corresponding to a phase where the boat 1 is stationary, in port or in calm sea.
- the space in the cockpit 2 is here reduced to free a rear area 3 large enough to allow passengers to swim or park at the water's edge, by advantageously accessing the rear beam 3 by the door 5.
- the beam can be locked in the front position by an additional set of strikes 16 arranged to cooperate with the bolts 15 when the beam 4 is in this front position.
- the beam 4 can take any intermediate position ensuring an adequate compromise between the space of the cockpit 2 and the space of the aft deck 3 at a given moment, position possibly materialized by other means of blocking.
- the means for blocking the beam 4 can for example be disengageable braking devices, the door 5 can be a retractable telescopic barrier, or even the displacement of the beam 4 can be done along side rails or any other device.
