Abstract
234,206. Barnett, M. R. March 4, 1924. Branches and mains, connecting. - A valve for tapping water mains has its casing a threated at a<1> for insertion into the main, and at a<2> to receive a screwed sleeve y which secures the member x and also the annular outlet member j. The casing a is internally threaded to receive a threaded jumper b carrying a loose closure member c. A square projection b<1> on the jumper projects into a corresponding socket in the end of the spindle e, and the spindle is also threaded to engage with the member x, the threaded portion being of smaller diameter than the jumper. In a modification, the jumper b itself carries the packing. The handle f may be permanently fixed to the spindle.
