型材は必ずしもそれ自身で焼付きを防止できるほど充分
に或いは確実に塗布する必要はなく、焼付防止シートの
合わせ目を被着状態に維持し、かつ、その合わせ目から
の溶湯の浸出を防止できる程度で足りる。これは、焼付
防止シートが充分な焼付防止の役割を果たすからであ
り、前記焼付防止シートの合わせ目のみが溶湯のさし込
みのおそれのある部位であり、塗型材はこれを補うため
のものであるからである。例えば、焼付防止シートを金
型内周壁に遠心力によって張りつけて、塗型材を焼付防
止シートの内周全面に充分に塗布すれば、焼付防止シー
トを金型内周壁に遠心力によって押し付た状態に維持す
ることが可能であり、焼付防止シートは金型に密着して
保持されて、確実に焼付防止の効果を発揮する。なお、
この塗型材の塗布も金型を回転させながら行えば、上記
状態の維持は一層確実になり、なおかつ、塗型内周面も
