Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a cylinder block is supported as a device for performing a surface treatment on an inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical portion of a work having a cylindrical portion, for example, a device for plating a cylinder bore peripheral surface of an engine cylinder block. Installed in the cylinder bore, the electrode is placed in the cylinder bore, and while the opening of the cylinder bore is closed, the plating solution is supplied into the cylinder bore to allow the plating solution to flow and the gap between the electrode and the cylinder bore peripheral surface. There is known an apparatus in which high-speed electroplating is carried out by applying a high current (see, for example, JP-A-5-22589).

In this installation state, the plating solution is supplied with the upper opening of the cylinder bore sealed with a lid etc., but the upper side of the cylinder block in the above installation state is the crankcase. Etc. exist and have a complicated shape,
It is difficult to achieve sealing only by covering the lid from above, which may lead to overflow of the plating solution.

At times, it is required to have a sufficient expansion allowance so as to ensure close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the tubular portion. Further, the reliability of the expansion / contraction operation and the shape retention in a state of being expanded and in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the tubular portion are required for achieving the sealing function and the like. In order to further enhance the function required for such a seal member,
There was room for improvement.

Further, each of the bone pieces 33 is formed of a hard material such as metal into a rod shape, extends in the generatrix direction along the peripheral wall 32a of the main portion 32, and is arranged at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction, and the lower end portion thereof is the above-mentioned. It is fitted and fixed in the mounting groove 32e.

The main portion 32 is integrally molded into the predetermined shape as described above, and each bone piece 33 is fitted into the mounting groove 32e formed in the lower portion of the seal member 31 and fixed to the main portion 32, thereby adhering to each other. The seal member 31 in which the main portion 32 and the bone piece 33 are integrated is easily manufactured without the need. Further, when the seal member 31 is attached to the seal holding member 35, the attachment member 36 is fastened to the seal holding member 35 with the disc-shaped portion 32b of the seal member 31 sandwiched between them. The seal member 31 is easily attached. In this case, if the spacer 41 for deformation regulation is interposed between the seal holding member 35 and the mounting member 36, the disc-shaped portion 32b of the seal member 31 is over-compressed, and the seal member 31 is accordingly removed. It prevents the situation of being constantly deformed.

As shown in FIG. 7, the correction ring 42 is formed of a hard material such as metal in an annular shape, and grooves 42a that engage with the bone pieces 33 are radially arranged on the inner peripheral surface of the correction ring 42.
Reference numeral 43 denotes a spring mounted on the seal holding member 35, and the correction ring 42 is urged downward by the spring 43 via the cylindrical body 44, so that the seal member 31 is normally in a predetermined reduced diameter state. It is designed to be kept at.

In the plating process, first, the cylinder block 1 is installed on the work supporting portion 3 of the plating apparatus main body 2 with the head side facing downward, and the auxiliary device 20 is located above the cylinder block 1 in a predetermined operating position. In this state, the movable plate 21 and the lower plate 24 are lowered by driving the cylinder 22, so that the seal holding member 3
5, the seal member 31, the seal pressing member 37, and the like descend and project into the cylinder 1a, and the seal member 31 is positioned near the upper opening of the cylinder 1a in a reduced diameter state (see FIG. 2).

The projecting portion 37a of the peripheral portion of 7 abuts against the lower end of the seal member 31 and presses it. Since the seal member 31 can be expanded and contracted on the lower end side like an umbrella with a sufficient expansion margin, it is expanded radially outward as it is pressed from below by the seal pressing member 37, and the outer periphery of the lower end is expanded. The portion comes into close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 1a to seal the upper opening of the cylinder 1a (see FIG. 3).

High-speed plating is performed with the plating solution flowing between the electrode 7 and the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 1a. At this time, since the sealing is performed well as described above, the overflow of the plating solution is reliably prevented. In addition, since the pellet storage portion 10 of the electrode 7 is closed by the plate 40 provided below the seal member 31, the pellet 11 in the pellet storage portion 10 is covered with the flow paths 14, 1 during plating.
It is prevented to jump out to 5.

And a seal pressing member that is relatively movable to each other, the seal member having a hollow truncated cone-shaped main portion formed of an elastic material and a large number of bone fragments along the outer peripheral surface of the main portion. Therefore, the seal member can be brought into close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion of the workpiece to seal the opening, and in particular, the reliability of the expansion / contraction operation of the seal member and the shape retention in the expanded state can be ensured. It is possible to secure and improve the sealing function. Moreover, since each of the bone pieces is fitted and fixed in the mounting groove formed in the main portion, the seal member can be easily manufactured.
