本発明はコイルボックスのマンドレルに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
近年、熱間圧延設備において、粗圧延機と仕上圧延機との間に巻取り巻戻し機を備えたコイルボックスを設け、粗圧延した被圧延材をクレードルロール上で巻取り、その後、このコイルを巻戻すことにより仕上圧延機に送る圧延方法が提案されている(特開平7−275934号公報)。

前記方法においては、粗圧延された被圧延材は一旦コイル状に巻き取られるため、被圧延材の温度降下が少ないものの、前記コイルボックスのマンドレルは水冷構造であること、およびコイル内周面が巻取りから巻戻しまで大気に接して自然放冷されることにより、他の部位より温度降下が大きくなる。そのため、仕上圧延材のテール部に不良部位が生じ、歩溜まりが悪いという問題があった。
したがって、特開平8−24947号公報では、マンドレルをマンドレル加熱装置で加熱しておき、その蓄熱された熱で粗圧延コイルのテール部を加熱して温度降下を防止する方法が提案されている。

しかしながら、前記特開平8−24947号公報の方法ではマンドレルとは別にマンドレル加熱装置を必要とし、設備自体が大掛かりになるばかりか、巻取りから巻戻しまでの間にマンドレル自体が温度降下することを避けることはできず、その結果、コイル内周面の温度も降下するため、良好な仕上圧延を行い難いという課題を有する。

本発明は前記問題に鑑みてなされたもので、簡単な構成で粗圧延コイルの内周部の温度降下を確実に防止することができるコイルボックスのマンドレルを提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
前記目的を達成するため、本発明のマンドレルは、粗圧延された圧延材をコイルに巻取るとともに巻戻して仕上圧延機に送るコイルボックスのマンドレルにおいて、該マンドレルを水冷構造とするとともにその外周面に複数の環状凹部を形成し、この凹部内に断熱材を取り付けるとともにバーナノズルを設けた構成としている。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図に基づいて詳細に説明する。
本発明のコイルボックスのマンドレル1は、図1に示すように、マンドレル本体2の先端部に燃焼火炎Fを形成する火炎形成部3を設けたものである。前記マンドレル本体2は、図2に示すように、その外周面と粗圧延された被圧延材を巻取って形成されるコイルCの内周面との間に所要間隔Sをあけて位置し、略円柱形状をなしている。

前記マンドレル本体2の中心部には、冷却水供給路4aと冷却水排水路4bとからなる冷却水通路4を設けてマンドレル1を水冷構造としている。
また、冷却水通路4の外方には複数の燃料ガス供給路5が設けてあり、これらガス供給路5はマンドレル本体2の先端部に設けた円環状の複数本の連通路6に連通している。そして、この各連通路6にはマンドレル本体2の外方に開口する複数のバーナノズル7が等間隔で設けられ、これらバーナノズル7により前記火炎形成部3を構成している。

なお、前記バーナノズル7は、図1および図3に示すように、マンドレル本体2に複数の環状凹部8を所定間隔をあけて設け、この凹部8に規定の距離αを保って表面に耐熱鋼かならるカバー部材10を備えた断熱材9を装填し、この断熱材9とカバー部材10に穿設した孔11にバーナノズル構成部材12を取り付けている

このようにすれば、水冷構造のマンドレル本体2による冷却作用を軽減することができるとともに、コイルCの巻取り、巻戻し作業中にコイルCがマンドレル1に接触しても、距離αの存在によりバーナノズル7部を閉塞したり、バーナノズル構成部材12が損傷することを防止できる。

前記構成からなるマンドレル本体2は、前記特開平7−275934号公報および特開平8−24947号公報の如く、図示しないマンドレル支持台に回転駆動可能に、場合によってはコイルCに対して進退可能な支持台に、あるいは回転可能で、かつ、揺動可能な支持台に取り付けられる。また、前記冷却水通路4およびガス供給路5は、それぞれマンドレル本体2の後端部に取り付けたロータリージョイント13を介して給水設備、排水設備、ガス供給設備に接続される。

【発明の効果】
以上の説明で明らかなように、本発明のコイルボックスのマンドレルでは、特開平8−24947号公報のように、マンドレルとは別のマンドレル加熱装置によりマンドレルを予熱し、その蓄熱された熱でコイルの温度降下を防止するという大掛かりな設備ではなく、マンドレル外周面にバーナノズルを設けるという簡単な構成で、バーナノズルからの燃焼火炎により直接コイル内周面を加熱してコイル内周面の温度降下を確実に防止するため、後工程で良好な仕上圧延を行うことができ、製品の歩溜まりを向上することができる。
