ジャケットを備えたケーシング内に螺旋状の羽根を有する2本の中空スクリュー軸を対向させて並列に設け、該スクリュー軸の中空部とジャケットに熱媒体を流通させつつ該スクリュー軸を回転させて、ケーシング内に供給した原料の移送と乾燥を行う連続式乾燥機が知られており(例えば特開平6−23253号公報参照)、液状材料の晶析、乾燥粉末化、樹脂の脱溶媒、無機質スラリの乾燥、高粘性原料の冷却、2成分系材料の混練乾燥、有機物の反応等に広く使用されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来のこの種の連続式乾燥機は、図7に示すように、ジャケットJを設けた胴体Bを該胴体の下面側に設けた板状の支脚Sで支持する構造であったので、高温の熱媒体を流通させたとき該支脚が加熱されて熱膨張し、胴体が軸方向と直角方向に持ち上げられ(冷却の場合は支脚の収縮により下向きの力を受ける)、モータ等の駆動部の軸とスクリュー軸との間に芯ズレが生じ、円滑な回転ができなくなるほか、当該芯ズレによってスクリューとケーシング内面とが接触して異常摩耗するという問題が生じていた。一方、上記のような不具合をカップリング等の接続部品の間で調整して解消しようとしても、2軸のスクリュー軸が近接して回転する構造であるから、カップリング等の調整を行うことは極めて困難であり、この方法では解消することができなかった。そこで、本発明は、胴体の支持方法を改良し、熱膨張の影響を少なくすることを課題としている。

上記課題を解決するため、本発明は次のような構成を採用した。すなわち、本発明にかかる連続式乾燥装置は、ケーシングの外部にジャケットを設けた胴体の内部に中空スクリュー軸を挿通し、該スクリュー軸の中空部と前記ジャケットに熱媒体を流通させつつ該スクリュー軸を回転させてケーシング内に供給した原料の移送と乾燥を行う連続式乾燥機において、前記胴体から左右側方に張出し先端部の断面積が小さくなるように形成されたフランジを設け、該左右のフランジの先端部をそれぞれの側に設けた上下方向の支脚の頂部に固定することにより架台に支持したことを特徴としている。
