本発明は、T字或いはY字継手等の受口に設けられたパッキン装着溝に嵌め込んで使用する環状パッキンに関する。

【従来の技術及びその問題点】
従来からも、T字或いはY字継手等の受口に設けたパッキン装着溝に、ゴム製の環状パッキンを嵌め込んで、当該継手受口に合成樹脂管等を伸縮及び角度自在に接続して接合部からの流体の漏洩を防止していた。
また、複数の受口を有するT字継手等において、その受口の一つを使用しない場合は、この受口のパッキン装着溝に環状パッキンを嵌め込ん後、当該パッキン内に閉塞用キャップを装着して閉塞することも行われていた。

これらに使用されるパッキンの構造としては、例えば図4に断面図で示す如く、環状のパッキン本体5と、当該パッキン本体の内周に軸中心方向に傾斜したリップ部6とからなり、かつ当該リップ部6の先端外周面に環状突起61を設けることによりパッキンのシール効果を高めた環状パッキンが知られている。

この環状パッキンの本体5を、例えば、図3に断面図で示す如くT字継手3のパッキン装着溝31に嵌め込んだ後、閉塞用のキャップ4を環状パッキン内に装着すると、リップ部6は図4に二点鎖線で示した状態に変形して環状突起61が継手3の内壁に圧接される。
そして、継手3の内壁とリップ部6及び突起61の外面によって密封室R−2が形成され、その結果キャップ4を抜き取ってもリップ部6がその弾性力では実線の前の状態に戻ることなく依然として密封室R−2が形成された密閉状態で維持されることがある。
したがって、この状態でリップ部6の内面に接続すべき管体の差口を挿入すると、リップ部6の内面と接続すべき管体の差口外面との圧接力が弱くなりパッキンの漏洩防止効果の性能が低下する原因になっていた。

本発明は、上記問題を解決した環状パッキンを提供しようとするものでその要旨は、(1)環状のパッキン本体と、当該パッキン本体の内周の一端部から折り返され軸中心方向に傾斜したリップ部とからなる環状パッキンであって、リップ部の先端外周面には周方向に分割された環状突起を設けたことを特徴とする環状パッキンである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施例を図面に基づいて詳細に説明する。
図1は本発明の環状パッキンの断面図、図2は図1のII−II矢視図、図3は本発明の環状パッキンの使用状態図である。

図1において、1はゴム製よりなる環状のパッキン本体であり、当該パッキン本体1はT字継手3のパッキン装着溝31に装着される。
2はパッキン本体1の内周の一端から折り返され軸中心方向に傾斜したリップ部であり、このパッキン本体1及びリップ部2の両部材によって本発明の環状パッキンが構成されている。
そして、リップ部2の先端外周面には周方向に分割された環状突起21が設けられている。
この環状突起21は図2に示す如く、1本〜複数本のスリット22によって周方向に分割されてリップ部2の先端外周面に設けられている。
なお当該環状突起21は、接続工程において、リップ部2と当該リップ部2に挿入された接続管との圧接力を高めるために設けるものである。

次に、本発明の環状パッキンをT字継手に装着して使用する手順を図1に基づいて詳述する。
環状のパッキン本体1を、T字継手3のパッキン装着溝31内に嵌め込んだ後、閉塞用キャップ4を環状パッキン内に挿入すると、リップ部2は二点鎖線の状態に変形して環状突起21は継手3内壁に圧接され、この圧接力によってリップ部2を内側に押し戻そうとする反力が生じる。
その結果、リップ部2の内面とキャップ4の外面との圧接力が増して、この接触面からの流体等の漏洩防止効果が向上する。

また、継手3の内壁とリップ部2及び突起21の外面によって区画室R−1が形成されるが、この区画室R−1はスリット22を介して継手3内と連通しているので密封状態にはならない。

【発明の効果】
本発明の環状パッキンは、伸縮及び角度自在な管継手用のパッキンとして最適であり、受口部と差口部との接合部分に介在された本発明の環状パッキンの内・外周面は、リップ部の先端外周面に周方向に分割された環状突起またはリップ部の先端外周面に環状突起と当該環状突起に凹凸を設けることにより、常に高い圧接力が得られるので管同士の伸縮及び接合角度の変化の際に管内の流体が漏洩することがない等優れた効果を有している。
