従来、自動車等の車両に装備される燃料タンクおいては、廃車時に燃料タンク本体内の燃料を回収する技術が知られており、その一例が特開平10−250385号公報に示されている。

図5に示される如く、この燃料タンクでは、燃料タンク本体100の底部100Aに、長手方向及び巾方向において、底部102及び側面104が傾斜しているドレン部106を含む溝108を設けており、ドレン部106の近くに燃料を吸出する吸入口を有する吸出管110を設けている。この結果、燃料の残量が減少している場合でも車輌の姿勢や走行状態により燃料不足によるエンジン不調が発生しないようになっている。

しかしながら、このような燃料タンクでは、燃料タンク本体100の底部100Aに、タンク内側(上方)に向かって補強用のリブが形成されていることがあり、このリブに邪魔されて、ドレン部106に燃料が集まり難い場合がある。この結果、廃車時に、燃料タンク本体100内の燃料を確実に抜き取ることができないという不具合がある。

請求項1記載の本発明は、燃料タンク本体内部の底部にリブが形成され、前記底部を、前記底部における所定の部位に燃料を導く傾斜面とすると共に、前記リブに、燃料を前記所定の部位に導くための燃料通過部を形成した燃料タンクにおいて、前記所定の部位に対応する前記燃料タンク本体の下面に、前記燃料タンク本体に燃料抜き孔を開ける際の目印となる前記燃料タンク本体のタンク内側へ突出する凸部を設けたことを特徴とする。
