Description
(a)コアを形成する工程、
(b)発泡性カバー用組成物を提供する工程、および
(c)該コア上に該カバー用組成物から成るカバーを被覆してゴルフボールを形成する工程
を含み、かつ該カバーが表面に発泡による多数の微細な開口空隙を有することを特徴とするゴルフボールの製造方法に関する。
(a)コアを形成する工程、
(b)発泡性カバー用組成物を提供する工程
(c)該コア上に該カバー用組成物から成るカバーを被覆してゴルフボールを形成する工程、および
(d)該カバーの表面を除去して、ゴルフボール表面に多数の微細な開口空隙を形成する工程
を含み、かつ該カバーが表面に発泡による多数の微細な開口空隙を有することを特徴とするゴルフボールの製造方法に関する。
(i)固化時間を長くすると、発泡空隙径(開口空隙の直径および深さ)を大きくし、発泡空隙個数(開口空隙個数)を小さくすることができ、逆に固化時間を短くすると、発泡空隙径(開口空隙の直径および深さ)を小さくし、発泡空隙個数(開口空隙個数)を大きくすることができ、
(ii)発泡剤配合量を多くすると、発泡空隙径(開口空隙の直径および深さ)を大きくすることができ、逆に発泡剤配合量を少なくすると、発泡空隙径(開口空隙の直径および深さ)を小さくすることができる。
以下の表1に示した配合のコア用ゴム組成物を混合、混練し、金型内で165℃で20分間加熱プレスすることにより直径38.7mmを有する球状のソリッドコアを得た。
以下の表2に示した配合のカバー用組成物を、上記のコア上にディンプル付き(ディンプルに対応する凸部を有する)金型を用いて、以下の表3および4に示した成形温度および固化時間で、射出成形することにより、発泡させると共に固化し、厚さ1.6mmを有するカバー層を形成して、直径42.7mmを有するゴルフボールを得た。得られたゴルフボールについて、開口空隙の直径、深さ、開口部面積および個数;弾道仰角並びに飛距離を測定し、結果を表3および4に示す。
カバー層形成後、表面に厚さ10μmを有するウレタンペイントを塗装した以外は、上記実施例1〜6および比較例1と同様にして、直径42.7mmを有するゴルフボールを得た。得られたゴルフボールについて、開口空隙の直径、深さ、開口部面積および個数;弾道仰角並びに飛距離を測定し、結果を表4に示す。
ゴルフボールに鉄粉を圧縮空気と共に圧送して投射し、表面をブラスト処理した以外は、比較例1と同様にしてゴルフボールを得た。得られたゴルフボールについて、開口空隙の直径、深さ、開口部面積および個数;弾道仰角並びに飛距離を測定し、結果を表4に示す。

ゴルフラボラトリー社製スイングロボットにアイアン5番クラブ(住友ゴム工業(株)製のXXIO、I#5、ロフト角26度、Sシャフト)を取付け、ゴルフボールをヘッドスピード41m/秒に設定して打撃し、弾道仰角および飛距離を測定した。飛距離としてはトータル(停止点までの距離)を測定した。弾道仰角は打ち出し点から見た弾道の最高頂点を結んだ直線と地面との角度を測定することにより決定した。測定は各ゴルフボールで20回(n=20)行って、その平均を算出して、各ゴルフボールの結果とした。
飛距離ばらつきは、飛距離の最大値と最小値の差を計算することにより決定した。方向性は、最も左に落下した位置の打撃点と目標とを結んだ直線と直角方向での距離と最も右に落下した位置の同様の距離とを測定し、両者の合計値を計算することにより決定した。
Claims (1)
- コアおよび該コアを被覆するカバーから成るゴルフボールの製造方法において、
(a)コアを形成する工程、
(b)発泡性カバー用組成物を提供する工程、
(c)該コア上に該カバー用組成物から成るカバーを被覆してゴルフボールを形成する工程、および
(d)該カバーの表面を除去して、ゴルフボール表面に多数の微細な開口空隙を形成する工程
を含み、かつ該カバーが表面に発泡による多数の微細な開口空隙を有することを特徴とするゴルフボールの製造方法。
