従来からホログラム装置は次のような工程を経て作製される。まずガラス基板上にホログラム感光材料および保護層を順次設けることにより対象物を作製する。次にこの対象物に対して原版を介して露光焼き付けを行うことによりホログラム感光材料にホログラム層を形成する。このようにしてホログラム層を有するホログラム装置を作製することができる。

上述のように、対象物に原版を介して露光焼き付けを行うことによりホログラム層を形成している。

しかしながら露光焼き付けする際、対象物と原版との間の平行度を正確に維持する必要があるが、対象物と原版との間の平行度を正確に保つことはむずかしい。
