Description
光感応材料からなる記録層と、
前記記録層の光照射面の反対側に配置された反射層と、
各々が第1ピッチで離れて交わることなく延在して前記反射層上に配置されるトラックと、
前記トラックの伸長方向において各々が前記第1ピッチの整数倍である第2ピッチで離間するように前記反射層上に形成された位置決めマークと、を有することを特徴とする。
図3は、本実施形態の一例であるディスク形状のホログラム記録媒体を示す。
本発明のホログラムの記録は、ホログラム記録媒体を、時間的に重ね合わせることができるレイヤに分け、当該レイヤ毎に記録シーケンスが行われる。記録シーケンスはホログラムを記録し、その一群を形成する工程である。各レイヤにおいては、最大多重度の記録密度よりも低い密度でホログラムを記録する。さらに、記録層において最も光照射履歴回数の最も少ない部位から、順次、記録を行うこととする。
図17は本発明を適用したホログラム記録媒体の情報を記録又は再生する記録再生装置の概略構成の例を示す。
上記ホログラム記録再生装置を用いた、ホログラムディスクに光ビームを照射して情報を記録又は再生する記録再生方法を説明する。
本実施形態では、複数ビームの内のいくつかを用いてx方向のトラックに対物レンズを追従させるx方向サーボを行い、複数ビームの1つを用いてy方向位置決めマークMに追従するy方向サーボを行い上記のホログラムの記録及び再生を実行する。位置決めサーボ制御において、回折光学素子GRにより第2レーザ光源LD2からの光を複数のサーボ用サブビーム(サーボビーム)に分割し、それぞれのサーボビームからの戻り光を受光するそれぞれの受光面を含む4分割光検出器PDの出力を元に演算して、x、y及びzの3軸に対物レンズを駆動できる3軸アクチュエータ(対物レンズ駆動部36)を駆動する信号を生成する。
図23に本実施形態のトラック構造を用いた記録媒体にホログラムを記録する方法を示す。図中の丸内番号はホログラムを記録する多重順を示している。すなわち第1レイヤで記録されるホログラムは丸内番号1で示される位置に記録され、第2レイヤで記録されるホログラムは丸内番号2で示される位置に記録される。
<他の実施形態>
また、上記実施形態においては、記録媒体として図25に示すようなホログラムディスク2を例に説明したが、ホログラム媒体の形状は円盤状に限定されるものではなく、例えば、図26に示すようなプラスチックなどからなる矩形状平行平板の光カード20aであっても良い。かかる光カードにおいても、トラックは基板の例えば重心に関してその上に螺旋状もしくは螺旋弧状又は同心円状に形成されもよいし、トラックが基板上に平行に形成されていよい。また、記録媒体の形態はディスク、カードなど種々の形状で構成できるが、図27に示すように、記録層を含むディスク型ホログラム記録媒体20cをカートリッジCRに収納して、その開閉自在のシャッタ(図示せず)を取り付けた開口部からアクセス可能とすることもできる。

Claims (8)
- 光ビーム照射により情報の記録又は再生が行われるホログラム記録媒体であって、
基板に担持され光感応材料からなる記録層と、
前記記録層の光照射面の反対側に配置された反射層と、
照射される光ビームの前記反射層上のスポット上方に記録される前記記録層のホログラムの多重度から決まる所定距離として設定される第1ピッチで離れて交わることなく延在して前記反射層上に配置されるトラックと、
前記トラックの伸長方向において各々が前記第1ピッチの整数倍である第2ピッチで離間するように前記反射層上に形成された位置決めマークと、を有し、
光ビームを照射して前記位置決めマークを検出し、前記光ビームの照射位置を前記トラックの伸長方向の成分を有する方向へ移動せしめ、前記記録層において最も光照射履歴回数の少ない部位から、順次、最大の記録密度よりも低い密度でレイヤとしてホログラムが記録され、複数のホログラムを含む1以上の前記レイヤを、時間的に重ね合わせ、かつ、当該レイヤ毎にホログラムの一群が記録されたこと、並びに、
前記ホログラム記録媒体が、前記記録層への記録順序を示す情報を含む情報識別領域を有し、前記情報識別領域からの情報を予め前記光ビームにて読み取って記録手順を選択することを特徴とするホログラム記録媒体。 - 前記位置決めマークが前記トラック上に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載のホログラム記録媒体。
- 前記位置決めマークが前記トラック間に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項1記載のホログラム記録媒体。
- 前記トラックの隣接する対におけるそれそれの前記位置決めマークが前記第1ピッチとなるように配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のホログラム記録媒体。
- 対物レンズから前記記録層を通過して前記トラックに合焦される光ビームのスポット径は前記光ビームの波長と前記対物レンズの開口数により決まる回折限界であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のホログラム記録媒体。
- 前記基板は円板であり、前記トラックは前記基板の中心に関してその上に螺旋状もしくは螺旋弧状又は同心円状に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のホログラム記録媒体。
- 前記トラックは前記基板上に平行に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のホログラム記録媒体。
- 前記反射層と前記記録層とが分離層を介して積層されたことを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載のホログラム記録媒体。
