Description
フォーマット識別子402は、IEの符号化フォーマットを表す情報を含むことができる。種々のIEフィーマットを用いることができ、一意のフォーマット識別子を、ワイヤレス対応デバイス102が用いる各タイプの発見プロトコルに用いることができる。フォーマット識別子402は、プロトコル・スタックにおける上位で用いられるサービス発見プロトコルのタイプを表すことができる。SSDP、WS−Discovery、SLP、およびRendezvousというような、適したサービス発見プロトコルであればいずれでも用いることができる。フォーマット識別子を用いると、ワイヤレス対応デバイス102は、IEにおいて情報を認識するために用いることができるサービス発見のタイプを識別することができる。例えば、フォーマット識別子がWS−Discoveryと関連のあるIEフォーマットを識別した場合、ワイヤレス対応デバイス102は、IE400から情報を抽出して、サービスを発見するためのしかるべきフォーマットでそれをWS−Discoveryモジュールに配信することができる。IEを解析して、識別したフォーマットに応じて、IEの異なる部分を分離することもできる。次いで、IEのしかるべき部分を検査することによって、サービスに関する情報を判定することができる。本発明の一形態では、IE400は、接続、例えば、レイヤ3接続を確立するのに先立って、レイヤ2メッセージ、例えば、IEEE802.11ビーコン・メッセージによって、上位レイヤのサービス発見プロトコルの使用を可能にする。拡張可能なマークアップ言語(XML)構造を用いて、しかるべきスキーマ(schema)またはその他の任意の適した構造を用いて、プロトコル・スタックのレイヤ2およびレイヤ3間において、情報を交換することができる。一実現例では、フォーマット識別子402は、長さを約4バイトとするとよい。送る必要があるデータ量を削減するために、IE400に送信する前に、フォーマット識別子402を圧縮してもよい。
Claims (7)
- 第1デバイスの近隣にある第2デバイスが提供するサービスに関係する情報を入手する、コンピュータにより実行される方法であって、
前記第1デバイスと前記第2デバイスとの間に前記サービスを提供するのに適した接続を確立する前に、情報エレメントを前記第1デバイスによって受信するステップであって、前記情報エレメントは、前記第2デバイスが提供する前記サービスを前記第1デバイスが発見するのに使用する第1のサービス発見プロトコルを識別する情報を含み、第1のサービス発見プロトコルを識別する該情報はフォーマット識別子を含み、該フォーマット識別子は、ハッシュ関数を使って圧縮されてハッシュされたフォーマット識別子を提供し、該ハッシュされたフォーマット識別子は、前記第1のサービス発見プロトコルと関連した情報エレメント・フォーマットを識別し、前記第1のサービス発見プロトコルが、ウェブ・サービス発見プロトコルである、ステップと、
前記ハッシュされたフォーマット識別子を使って、前記第1のサービス発見プロトコルを前記ウェブ・サービス発見プロトコルとして識別するステップと、
第1のサービス発見プロトコルを識別する前記情報を前記情報エレメントから抽出するステップと、
前記ウェブ・サービス発見プロトコルの前記識別に基づいて、抽出した前記情報をウェブ・サービス発見モジュールに送るステップと、
前記ウェブ・サービス発見モジュールを使って、前記第2デバイスが提供するサービスに関係する情報を決定するステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記ハッシュされたフォーマット識別子は、セキュア・ハッシュ・アルゴリズムを用いて圧縮されている、方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載の方法において、前記第2デバイスが提供するサービスに関係する情報を決定するステップは、前記情報エレメントを解析して前記情報エレメントの第1部分を第2部分から分離することを含み、前記第2部分は、前記第1のサービス発見プロトコルを前記ウェブ・サービス発見プロトコルとして識別する前記情報を含む、方法。
- 請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の方法であって、更に、
前記ハッシュされたフォーマット識別子を伸張するステップを含む、方法。 - 請求項1から4のいずれかに記載の方法において、前記接続の確立は、前記第1デバイスによって、前記接続の受入および少なくとも1つの接続パラメータについての同意を示す、前記第2デバイスからの連携応答メッセージを受信することを含む、方法。
- 第1デバイスの近隣にある第2デバイスが提供するサービスに、第1デバイスによってアクセスする方法のステップを実行するコンピュータ実行可能命令を有する少なくとも1つのコンピュータ読み取り可能記憶媒体であって、前記方法は、
前記第1デバイスと前記第2デバイスとの間に前記サービスを提供するのに適した接続を確立する前に、前記第1デバイスが、前記第2デバイスが提供するサービスに関係しかつ前記第2デバイスにより提供される前記サービスを発見するために前記第1デバイスが使う第1サービス発見プロトコルを識別する情報を含む情報エレメントを受信するステップであって、第1サービス発見プロトコルを識別する前記情報は、フォーマット識別子を含み、該フォーマット識別子は、ハッシュ関数を使って圧縮されてハッシュされたフォーマット識別子を提供し、該ハッシュされたフォーマット識別子が、前記第1のサービス発見プロトコルと関連した情報エレメント・フォーマットを識別し、前記第1のサービス発見プロトコルが、ウェブ・サービス発見プロトコルである、ステップと、
前記ハッシュされたフォーマット識別子を使って、前記第1のサービス発見プロトコルを前記ウェブ・サービス発見プロトコルとして識別するステップと、
第1のサービス発見プロトコルを識別する前記情報を前記情報エレメントから抽出するステップと、
前記ウェブ・サービス発見プロトコルの前記識別に基づいて、抽出した前記情報をウェブ・サービス発見モジュールに送るステップと、
前記サービスが望まれているか否かを、前記ウェブ・サービス発見モジュールを使って判定するステップと、
前記サービスが望まれている場合、前記第1デバイスと前記第2デバイスとの間に接続を確立するステップと、
を含む、少なくとも1つのコンピュータ読み取り可能記憶媒体。 - 請求項6記載の少なくとも1つのコンピュータ読み取り可能記憶媒体において、第1のサービス発見プロトコルを識別する前記情報は、前記第2デバイスが提供するあるタイプのサービスを表す情報をさらに含む、少なくとも1つのコンピュータ読み取り可能記憶媒体。
