Claims (20)
- 配合されたPTFE樹脂を機械の押出器を通して、機械方向に押出し、PTFEリボン押出物を形成すること、
前記PTFEリボン押出物を機械方向にカレンダー処理して、PTFE層を生成させるために使用される押出器の機械方向に長手方向の長さと上面を有し、かつクロス機械方向または横方向に幅を有するPTFE層を形成すること、
PTFE層の上面の少なくとも一部に延伸剤を塗布すること、
PTFE層に延伸剤が溜まるようにPTFE層の上面に延伸剤を塗布すること、
延伸の間その厚さ全体にわたってPTFE層を飽和するようにPTFE層に延伸剤が留まっている間に、PTFE層を機械方向に対し横方向に延伸して、延伸されたPTFE層を形成すること、を備えており、
前記形成されたPTFE層が
(i)20000のSEM倍率で見たときに認識可能なノードとフィブリルのミクロ構造を有していない相互連結するPTFEの高密度領域を複数有する独立気泡ミクロ構造、及び
(ii)0.000127cm(0.00005インチ)ないし0.000127cm(0.005インチ)の厚さ
を有し、
前記延伸が、1秒あたり10パーセントから100パーセントまでの速度で行われ、更に前記延伸が、7.8:1ないし13:1の延伸比で行われる、
ことを特徴とする、PTFEを処理する方法。 - 延伸前に延伸剤をPTFE層の上面の実質的にすべてに塗布する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 延伸されたPTFE層が、20000のSEM倍率で見たときに、隣接したノードを相互連結する別個の平行なフィブリルを欠いている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 延伸されたPTFE層が、100ccの空気が12.4cmの水柱圧力下で通過するためのガーレイ数が12時間を越えており、実質的に流体浸透性を有さない、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 層の延伸が、横の方向に、1秒あたり15パーセントから25パーセントまでの速度でPTFE層を延伸することよりなる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- PTFE層を濃密化し且つ圧縮するために延伸されたPTFE層をカレンダー仕上げすることを更に備えている請求項1に記載の方法。
- 延伸剤はイソパラフィンよりなる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 延伸剤はナフサ、ミネラルスピリット、アルコール、MEK、トルエンおよびアルコールよりなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 延伸剤を塗布する前のPTFE層の潤滑剤含有量は0重量%ないし22重量%である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 延伸剤をPTFE層の上面への塗布後にPTFE層に隣接して配置された掬い取り部材で広げることを更に備えている請求項1に記載の方法。
- PTFE層の延伸を26.66℃(80°F)ないし37.78℃(100°F)の温度で行なう、請求項1に記載の方法。
- PTFE層の延伸をPTFE層の材料のガラス転移温度より僅かに高い温度で行なう、請求項1に記載の方法。
- PTFEリボン押出物がリボン構成を有し且つ0.0508cm(0.020インチ)ないし0.1016cm(0.040インチ)の厚さを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- PTFEリボン押出物を延伸前に0.00254cm(0.001インチ)ないし0.0127cm(0.005インチ)の減少厚さまで機械方向にカレンダー仕上げする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 延伸されたPTFE層を焼結することを更に備えている請求項1に記載の方法。
- 焼結工程が、350℃〜380℃の温度で2〜5分間行うことを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 0.01〜5.0μmの表面孔径と独立気泡構造に特徴付けられる低い多孔性、100ccの空気が12.4cmの水柱圧力下で通過するためのガーレイ数が12時間を越えることにより特徴付けられる浸透性を備えており、20000のSEM倍率で見たときに、認識可能なノードおよびフィブリル構造を備えておらず、20000のSEM倍率で見たときに、隣接したノードを相互連結する別個の平行なフィブリルを欠いており、且つ0.000127cm(0.00005インチ)ないし0.0127cm(0.005インチ)の厚さを有している薄いPTFE層。
- 請求項17に記載の薄いPTFE層を備えている第1層と、
第1層に固着されており、且つ実質的なノードおよびフィブリルミクロ構造を有している第2の延伸されたPTFE層と、
を備えている複合PTFEフィルム。 - 多層式血管移植片であって、
外面と、血管移植片の内側の内腔を構成する内面とを有する第1管状ボディと、
外面と、第1管状ボディの外面に結合された内面とを有する第2管状ボディと、を備えており、
第1管状ボディおよび第2管状ボディのうちの一方は流体浸透性PTFE層を備えており、他方の管状ボディは、0.01〜5.0μmの表面孔径と独立気泡構造に特徴付けられる低い多孔性、100ccの空気が12.4cmの水柱圧力下で通過するためのガーレイ数が12時間を越えることにより特徴付けられる浸透性を備えており、20000のSEM倍率で見たときに、認識可能なノードおよびフィブリル構造を備えておらず、20000のSEM倍率で見たときに、隣接したノードを相互連結する別個の平行なフィブリルを欠いており、且つ0.000127cm(0.00005インチ)ないし0.0127cm(0.005インチ)の厚さを有している、非流体浸透性を有するPTFE層を備えている、多層式血管移植片。 - 複数の相互連結するPTFEの高密度領域が、複数の相互連結するPTFEのノードである、請求項1記載の方法。
