各例の染毛料組成物を60℃の恒温槽に入れ、1週間保存した。1週間保存後の染毛料組成物の粘度をB型粘度計にて、ローターNo.3、回転数12rpm、25℃、1分間の条件で測定した。調製直後の染毛料組成物を同条件で測定した粘度及び1週間保存後の染毛料組成物の粘度から粘度比率(粘度比率=調製直後の粘度/1週間保存後の粘度)を算出した。この粘度比率は、1に近いほど、保存時における粘度の安定性に優れることを示している。粘度比率が0.80以上1.20未満であった場合には“5”、粘度比率が0.60以上0.80未満又は1.2以上2.0未満であった場合には“4”、粘度比率が0.40以上0.60未満又は2.0以上4.0未満であった場合には“3”、粘度比率が0.20以上0.40未満又は4.0以上6.0未満であった場合には“2”、粘度比率が0.20未満又は6.0以上であった場合には“1”とする5段階の評価を下した。この評価結果を表1及び表2の“粘度の安定性の評価”欄に示す。
