Description
そして、この点について更に検討したところ、剪断損失弾性率G1”(測定条件:剪断モード、加振周波数:10Hz、温度:−30℃、ひずみ:0.05%)/剪断損失弾性率G2”(測定条件:剪断モード、加振周波数:10Hz、温度:0℃、ひずみ:0.05%)>1.65の関係を満たすアクリル系エラストマーを使用することで、アプローチショットのウエットスピン量が増大することを見出し、本発明を完成するに至った。

前記ゴルフボール用材料は、カバー用材料として使用されることが好ましい。

アプローチショットに用いるショートアイアンやウェッジのクラブフェースには、幅約0.8mm、深さ約0.4mmの溝が複数設けられるとともに、この溝の間のフェース面上にも数μmオーダーの微小な凹凸が存在する。剪断損失弾性率G1”の測定条件は、ゴルフボールが、クラブフェース面上の数μmオーダーの凹凸を乗り越えながらフェース面を滑って、更に、フェースに設けられた溝に引っかかってスピンが発生するメカニズムに着目している。すなわち、スピン量は、フェース面上の数μmオーダーの凹凸とフェースの溝の両方の影響を受ける。剪断損失弾性率G1”は、ゴルフボールが、数μmオーダーの凹凸を乗り越えるときに発生するスピンの影響をより詳細に考慮したものである。ゴルフボールが、数μmオーダーの凹凸を乗り越えるときには、カバーの変形が比較的小さいことから、測定ひずみを0.05%に設定した。また、加振周波数:10Hz、温度:−30℃の測定条件を採用しているのは、以下の理由に基づく。クラブフェース面上の数μmオーダーの凹凸を乗り越える際の変形の周波数は、107Hzのオーダーであり、一般的なポリウレタンエラストマーの時間換算則から、温度:室温、加振周波数:107Hzの測定条件で測定する動的粘弾性は、温度:−30℃、加振周波数:10Hzの測定条件で測定する動的粘弾性に相当する。
なお、重量平均分子量は、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフ(GPC)による測定値を基に標準ポリスチレン換算により測定される。
コアの表面硬度とは、得られた球状コアの表面においてスプリング式硬度計JIS−C型で測定した硬度を意味する。また、コアが多層構造である場合は、コアの表面硬度とは、コアの最外層の表面の硬度を意味する。
(1)剪断損失弾性率G1”〜G2”
カバー用材料の剪断損失弾性率G1”〜G2”を以下の条件で測定した。
装置:TAインスツルメント社製レオメータARES
測定サンプル:カバー用材料を用いてプレス成形により、厚み2mmのシートを作製し、このシートから、幅10mm、クランプ間距離10mmになるように試料片を切り出した。
測定モード:捻り(剪断)
測定温度:0℃、−30℃
加振周波数:10Hz
測定ひずみ:0.05%
なお、カバー用材料の剪断損失弾性率は、樹脂成分100質量部に対して、酸化チタン4質量部を配合したものの剪断損失弾性率である。
ゴルフラボラトリー社製スイングロボットに、アプローチウェッジ(SRIスポーツ社製、SRIXON I−302(溝規制対応)、シャフトS)を取り付け、ヘッドスピード21m/秒でゴルフボールを打撃し、打撃されたゴルフボールを連続写真撮影することによってスピン量(rpm)を測定した。測定は、各ゴルフボールについて10回ずつ行い、その平均値をスピン量とした。ドライスピン量は、クラブフェースとゴルフボールが乾いた状態で試験を行ったときのスピン量であり、ウエットスピン量は、クラブフェースとゴルフボールを水で濡らした状態で試験を行ったときのスピン量である。スピン保持率は、下記式により算出した。
スピン保持率(%)=100×ウエットスピン量/ドライスピン量
中間層用組成物、又はカバー用材料を用いて、熱プレス成形により、厚み約2mmのシートを作製し、23℃で2週間保存した。このシートを、測定基板などの影響が出ないように、3枚以上重ねた状態で、ASTM−D2240に規定するスプリング式硬度計ショアD型を備えた高分子計器社製自動ゴム硬度計P1型を用いて測定した。
なお、カバー用材料のスラブ硬度は、樹脂成分100質量部に対して、酸化チタン4質量部を配合したもののスラブ硬度である。
スプリング式硬度計JIS−C型を備えた高分子計器社製自動ゴム硬度計P1型を用いて、コアの表面部において測定したJIS−C硬度をコア表面硬度とした。また、コアを半球状に切断し、切断面の中心において測定したJIS−C硬度をコア中心硬度とした。
コアに初期荷重98Nを負荷した状態から終荷重1275Nを負荷したときまでの圧縮方向の変形量(圧縮方向に球形体が縮む量)を測定した。
(1)センターの作製
表1に示す配合のセンター用ゴム組成物を混練し、半球状キャビティを有する上下金型内で170℃で15分間加熱プレスすることにより球状のセンター(直径38.5mm)を得た。
アクリル酸亜鉛:日本蒸留製、「ZNDA−90S」
酸化亜鉛:東邦亜鉛製、「銀嶺R」
ジフェニルジスルフィド:住友精化製
ジクミルパーオキサイド:日油製、「パークミル(登録商標)D」
次に、表2に示した配合の中間層材料を、二軸混練型押出機により押し出して、ペレット状の中間層用組成物を調製した。押出は、スクリュー径45mm、スクリュー回転数200rpm、スクリューL/D=35で行った。配合物は、押出機のダイの位置で150〜230℃に加熱された。得られた中間層用組成物を上述のようにして得られたセンター上に射出成形して、センターと前記センターを被覆する中間層を有するコア(直径41.7mm)を作製した。
ハイミランAM7329:三井デュポンポリケミカル社製の亜鉛イオン中和エチレン−メタクリル酸共重合体系アイオノマー樹脂
表3に示した配合のカバー用材料を、酸化チタンとともにドライブレンドし、二軸混練型押出機によりミキシングして、ペレット状のカバー用材料を得た。押出は、スクリュー径45mm、スクリュー回転数200rpm、スクリューL/D=35で行った。配合物は、押出機のダイの位置で150〜230℃に加熱された。ハーフシェルの圧縮成形は、得られたペレット状のカバー用材料をハーフシェル成形用金型の下型の凹部ごとに1つずつ投入し、加圧してハーフシェルを成形した。圧縮成形は、成形温度170℃、成形時間5分、成形圧力2.94MPaの条件で行った。
(2)で得られたコアを(3)で得られた2枚のハーフシェルで同心円状に被覆して、圧縮成形によりカバーを成形した。圧縮成形は、成形温度145℃、成形時間2分、成形圧力9.8MPaの条件で行った。

Claims (8)
- コアとカバーとを有するゴルフボールであって、
前記コアは、基材ゴム、架橋開始剤及び共架橋剤を含むゴム組成物から形成され、
前記カバーは、アクリル系エラストマーで、かつ
動的粘弾性装置を用いて、下記測定条件で測定した剪断損失弾性率G1”(Pa)及びG2”(Pa)が下記式(1)を満足するカバー用材料から形成されたことを特徴とするゴルフボール。

G2”測定条件:剪断モード、加振周波数10Hz、温度0℃、ひずみ0.05% - 前記アクリル系エラストマーが、アクリル酸エステル系重合体からなる重合体ブロック(I)と、メタクリル酸エステル系重合体からなる重合体ブロック(II)とを、分子内にそれぞれ少なくとも1つ有するアクリル系ブロック共重合体である請求項1記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記アクリル系エラストマーが、式:(II)−(I)−(II)又は式:(I)−(II)−(I)で表されるトリブロック構造[但し、式中、(I)はアクリル酸エステル系重合体からなる重合体ブロック、(II)はメタクリル酸エステル系重合体からなる重合体ブロックを示し、−は各重合体ブロックの結合手を示す。]を、分子内に少なくとも1つ有するアクリル系ブロック共重合体である請求項1記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記アクリル系エラストマーが、式:(II)−(I)−(II)で表されるトリブロック構造[但し、式中、(I)はアクリル酸エステル系重合体からなる重合体ブロック、(II)はメタクリル酸エステル系重合体からなる重合体ブロックを示し、−は各重合体ブロックの結合手を示す。]を、分子内に少なくとも1つ有するアクリル系ブロック共重合体である請求項1記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記重合体ブロック(I)がアクリル酸n−ブチル系重合体、前記重合体ブロック(II)がメタクリル酸メチル系重合体からなる請求項2〜4のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記カバー用材料のスラブ硬度が、ショアD硬度で19〜61である請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記基材ゴムが天然ゴム又は合成ゴム、前記架橋開始剤が有機過酸化物、前記共架橋剤が炭素数が3〜8個のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸又はその金属塩である請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。
- 前記ゴム組成物がジフェニルジスルフィド類を含む請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール。
