Description

The present invention relates to cosmetics for the scalp and hair.

Patent Document 1 (JP Patent Publication No. 2012-20991 A) describes a technology related to a preparation containing an ingredient that has a cooling effect on the skin. The document describes a percutaneous absorption enhancer that contains at least one active ingredient selected from the group consisting of isopulegol, 2-(menthoxy)ethanol, and 2-methyl-3-(menthoxy)propane-1,2-diol, and specifically describes a gel formulation containing specific amounts of each of carboxyvinyl polymer, hydroxypropyl cellulose, ethanol, purified water, propylene glycol, propylene carbonate, triethanolamine, 2-methyl-3-(menthoxy)propane-1,2-diol, isopulegol, menthol, and felbinac (Example 12).

Patent Document 2 (JP Patent Publication 2002-114649A) describes a cooling effect enhancing composition that contains a cooling substance and a cationic surfactant as a cooling effect enhancing composition that can provide a strong cooling effect when used after washing the hair with shampoo, and describes that the cooling sensation can be enhanced by combining L-menthol and 3-(1-menthoxy)propane-1,2-diol as the cooling substances.

The present inventors have investigated cosmetics to be applied to the scalp and hair. They have found that even when the technology described in the above-mentioned patent documents is used, there is still room for improvement in terms of obtaining cosmetics that have an excellent effect of sustaining a refreshing feeling on the scalp and that are comfortable to use on the scalp and hair.

Therefore, the present invention provides a cosmetic product that has an excellent effect of sustaining a refreshing feeling on the scalp and also has an excellent feel when used on the scalp and hair.

According to the present invention,
(A) menthoxypropanediol,
(B) isopulegol,

The present invention provides a cosmetic for scalp and hair, which has a viscosity at 30°C of 100 mPa·s or more and 3,800 mPa·s or less, as measured using a Brookfield viscometer in accordance with the second method of viscosity measurement of cosmetic raw materials.

The present invention provides a cosmetic product that has an excellent effect of sustaining a refreshing feeling on the scalp and also has an excellent feel when used on the scalp and hair.

The following describes an embodiment of the present invention, giving specific examples of each component. In this embodiment, the composition may contain each component alone or in combination of two or more types.

In this embodiment, the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair is a composition containing the following components (A) to (E).
(A) Menthoxypropanediol (B) Isopulegol (C) Menthol (D) Acrylic thickener (E) Ethanol The content of component (E) in the scalp and hair cosmetic is 18% by mass or more and 60% by mass or less based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic. The total amount of components (A), (B) and (C) in the scalp and hair cosmetic is 1.0% by mass or less based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic. The viscosity of the scalp and hair cosmetic at 30°C measured using a Brookfield viscometer according to the second method of viscosity measurement of cosmetic raw materials is 100 mPa·s or more and 3800 mPa·s or less.

In this embodiment, the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair is a cosmetic composition that is applied to at least one of the scalp or hair, and is preferably applied to the scalp and hair.
The present inventors have discovered that by blending cooling sensation ingredients (A) to (C) in a cosmetic to be used on the scalp or hair in a specific total amount range, blending ingredients (A) to (C) in combination with component (D) and a specific amount of component (E), and adjusting the viscosity of the cosmetic to a specific range, it is possible to impart a desirable cooling sensation to the scalp and sustain the cooling sensation, and that the cosmetic has an excellent feel when used on the scalp and hair.

(Component (A))
Component (A) is menthoxypropanediol.
From the viewpoint of improving the refreshing feeling on the scalp, the content of component (A) in the cosmetic for scalp and hair is preferably 0.01 mass% or more, more preferably 0.02 mass% or more, and even more preferably 0.03 mass% or more, based on the total cosmetic for scalp and hair.
Furthermore, from the viewpoint of compatibility with the scalp and hair, and of suppressing stickiness of the scalp and stickiness of the hair, the content of component (A) in the scalp and hair cosmetic is preferably 0.2 mass% or less, more preferably 0.15 mass% or less, even more preferably 0.12 mass% or less, and even more preferably 0.09 mass% or less, based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic.

(Component (B))
Component (B) is isopulegol.
From the viewpoint of improving the refreshing feeling on the scalp, the content of component (B) in the cosmetic for scalp and hair is preferably 0.01 mass% or more, more preferably 0.02 mass% or more, and even more preferably 0.05 mass% or more, based on the total cosmetic for scalp and hair.
In addition, from the viewpoint of good compatibility with the scalp and hair, and of suppressing stickiness of the scalp and stickiness of the hair, the content of component (B) in the scalp and hair cosmetic is preferably 0.2 mass% or less, more preferably 0.18 mass% or less, even more preferably 0.12 mass% or less, and even more preferably 0.09 mass% or less, based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic.

(Component (C))
Component (C) is menthol, and from the viewpoint of easy availability, is preferably 1-menthol.
From the viewpoint of improving the refreshing feeling on the scalp, the content of component (C) in the scalp and hair cosmetic composition is preferably 0.01 mass% or more, more preferably 0.03 mass% or more, and even more preferably 0.05 mass% or more, based on the total mass of the scalp and hair cosmetic composition.
In addition, from the viewpoint of good compatibility with the scalp and hair, and of suppressing stickiness of the scalp and stickiness of the hair, the content of component (C) in the scalp and hair cosmetic is preferably 0.8 mass% or less, more preferably 0.5 mass% or less, even more preferably 0.3 mass% or less, and even more preferably 0.2 mass% or less, based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic.

The total amount of components (A), (B) and (C) in the scalp and hair cosmetic composition is, from the viewpoint of enhancing the desirable refreshing feeling on the scalp, preferably 0.03 mass% or more, more preferably 0.05 mass% or more, even more preferably 0.1 mass% or more, and still more preferably 0.15 mass% or more, based on the entire scalp and hair cosmetic composition.
In addition, from the viewpoint of enhancing the desirability of the refreshing feeling on the scalp and from the viewpoint of improving the feeling when used on the scalp and hair, the total amount of components (A), (B) and (C) in the scalp and hair cosmetic is 1.0 mass% or less, preferably 0.8 mass% or less, more preferably 0.5 mass% or less, even more preferably 0.4 mass% or less, still more preferably 0.3 mass% or less, and especially preferably 0.25 mass% or less, based on the total mass of the scalp and hair cosmetic.

(Component (D))
Component (D) is an acrylic thickener. Specifically, component (D) is a polymer that contains a structure derived from a monomer having a (meth)acrylic group in its molecular skeleton and has a thickening effect.
Examples of the component (D) include cationic thickening type aqueous gelling agents and alkaline thickening type aqueous gelling agents. Specifically, examples of cationic thickening type aqueous gelling agents include synthetic polymers such as quaternized polyvinylpyrrolidone copolymers, such as polyquaternium-86 (a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone, 1-methyl-3-vinylimidazoline chloride, vinylimidazole and methacrylic acid). Examples of alkaline thickening type aqueous gelling agents include synthetic polymers such as carboxyvinyl polymers and alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymers. Examples of commercially available products include Luvigel-Advanced (manufactured by BASF), Carbopol 940, Carbopol 941, Carbopol 934 (all manufactured by Goodrich Chemicals), Sinthalen K, Sinthalen L (all manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.), Carbopol 1342, Pemulen TR-1, Pemulen TR-2 (all manufactured by Goodrich Chemicals), etc.

The content of component (D) in the scalp and hair cosmetic composition is preferably 0.01 mass% or more, more preferably 0.03 mass% or more, even more preferably 0.05 mass% or more, and still more preferably 0.07 mass% or more, based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic composition, from the viewpoint of improving the refreshing feeling on the scalp and from the viewpoint of good compatibility with the scalp and hair.
In addition, from the viewpoint of suppressing stickiness of the scalp and stickiness of the hair, and from the viewpoint of suppressing discomfort to the scalp and hair, the content of component (D) in the scalp and hair cosmetic composition is preferably 1.0 mass% or less, more preferably 0.8 mass% or less, even more preferably 0.5 mass% or less, and even more preferably 0.3 mass% or less, based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic composition.

(Component (E))
Component (E) is ethanol.
From the viewpoint of improving the refreshing feeling on the scalp, the content of component (E) in the scalp and hair cosmetic composition is 18% by mass or more, preferably 20% by mass or more, more preferably 22% by mass or more, and even more preferably 25% by mass or more, based on the total mass of the scalp and hair cosmetic composition.
In addition, from the viewpoint of suppressing excessive irritation to the scalp and from the viewpoint of suppressing discomfort to the scalp and hair, the content of component (E) in the scalp and hair cosmetic is 60% by mass or less, preferably 55% by mass or less, more preferably 50% by mass or less, even more preferably 40% by mass or less, still more preferably 35% by mass or less, and especially preferably 30% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the scalp and hair cosmetic.

The mass ratio (((A)+(B)+(C))/(E)) of the total amount of components (A), (B) and (C) in the scalp and hair cosmetic to the content of component (E) is preferably 0.0005 or more, more preferably 0.001 or more, and even more preferably 0.005 or more, from the viewpoint of suppressing excessive irritation of the scalp and suppressing discomfort to the scalp and hair. From the same viewpoint, the mass ratio (((A)+(B)+(C))/(E)) may be, for example, 0.03/60 or more.
In addition, from the viewpoint of suppressing excessive irritation of the scalp and from the viewpoint of suppressing discomfort to the scalp and hair, the mass ratio ((A) + (B) + (C)) / (E)) is preferably 0.0555 or less, more preferably 0.05 or less, even more preferably 0.01 or less, and even more preferably 0.008 or less. From the same viewpoint, the mass ratio ((A) + (B) + (C)) / (E)) may be, for example, 1/18 or less.

The cosmetic composition for scalp and hair may contain components other than components (A) to (E).
For example, the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair may contain water. The content of water in the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair may be, for example, the remainder relative to the total of the components other than water in the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair.
In addition, the water content in the scalp and hair cosmetic composition is, from the viewpoint of suppressing excessive irritation to the scalp, for example, 37.7% by mass or more, preferably 40% by mass or more, more preferably 50% by mass or more, even more preferably 60% by mass or more, and even more preferably 68% by mass or more, based on the total mass of the scalp and hair cosmetic composition.
Furthermore, from the viewpoint of improving the refreshing feeling on the scalp, the water content in the scalp and hair cosmetic composition is, for example, 81.96 mass% or less, preferably 78 mass% or less, more preferably 75 mass% or less, and even more preferably 72 mass% or less, based on the total mass of the scalp and hair cosmetic composition.

In addition to the above-mentioned components, the scalp and hair cosmetic composition may contain, as necessary and within the range that does not impair the effects of the present invention, components that are normally used in skin care products such as cosmetics and medicines, such as anti-aging drugs, moisturizers, antioxidants, oily components, UV absorbers, surfactants such as nonionic surfactants, preservatives, alcohols, pH adjusters such as neutralizers, detergents, drying agents, emulsifiers, powdered components, coloring materials, aqueous components, various hair nutrients, fragrances, plant extracts, etc., other than components (A) to (E).

Moreover, from the viewpoint of suppressing discomfort to the scalp and hair, it is preferable that the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair does not contain polyhydric alcohol.
From a similar viewpoint, when a cosmetic composition for scalp and hair contains a polyhydric alcohol, the content of the polyhydric alcohol in the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair is more than 0% by mass relative to the entire cosmetic composition for scalp and hair, and is preferably 10% by mass or less, more preferably 5% by mass or less, even more preferably 5% by mass or less, and even more preferably 0.5% by mass or less.

The cosmetic composition for scalp and hair is preferably in liquid form.
The viscosity of the scalp and hair cosmetic at 30°C is 100 mPa·s or more, preferably 150 mPa·s or more, more preferably 200 mPa·s or more, and even more preferably 300 mPa·s or more, from the viewpoint of preventing dripping of the scalp and hair cosmetic and stably applying the scalp and hair cosmetic to the desired area.
In addition, from the viewpoint of suppressing discomfort to the scalp and hair, the viscosity of the scalp and hair cosmetic composition at 30°C is 3800 mPa·s or less, preferably 3000 mPa·s or less, more preferably 2500 mPa·s or less, even more preferably 2000 mPa·s or less, and even more preferably 1500 mPa·s or less.

The viscosity of the scalp and hair cosmetic at 30°C is measured using a Brookfield viscometer (e.g., TVB-10, manufactured by Toki Sangyo Co., Ltd.) with a rotor M3, a rotation speed of 60 rpm, and a measurement time of 60 seconds, in accordance with the second viscosity measurement method of the Cosmetic Raw Materials Standards.

Next, a method for producing the scalp and hair cosmetic composition will be described.
The cosmetic composition for scalp and hair can be obtained, for example, by blending and mixing components (A) to (E) and, if necessary, other components in a predetermined order.

The above describes the embodiments of the present invention, but these are merely examples of the present invention, and various configurations other than those described above can also be adopted.

(Examples 1 to 4, Comparative Examples 1 to 7)
Cosmetics for scalp and hair were prepared and evaluated according to the compositions shown in Table 1. The preparation and evaluation methods for the cosmetics for scalp and hair are described below.

(Method of preparing cosmetics for scalp and hair)
The components were mixed according to the formulation shown in Table 1 to prepare each example of a cosmetic composition for scalp and hair.
The viscosity of the obtained cosmetic composition for scalp and hair was measured by the following method.
(Method of measuring viscosity)
The viscosity of the cosmetic was measured using a Brookfield viscometer (manufactured by Toki Sangyo Co., Ltd., TVB-10, rotor M3) under conditions of 30° C., 60 rpm, and 60 sec.

(Evaluation method)
Ten panelists applied each of the cosmetics of the Examples and Comparative Examples to their heads and evaluated the following items based on the following evaluation criteria.
(how to use)
Each cosmetic was filled into a dispenser with a volume of 0.2 g per push, and 2 to 3 pushes of the cosmetic were applied directly to the scalp for each head. While the cosmetic was applied to the scalp and hair, the hair was brushed up and finished with a hand blow dry.

(Evaluation criteria)
For each of the above items, each panelist selected either "good" or "bad." Based on the number of panelists who answered "good," the evaluation was made on a 5-point scale according to the following criteria, with a score of 3 or above being considered a pass.

As can be seen from Table 1, the cosmetics obtained in each Example were superior in the sustained effect of providing a refreshing sensation on the scalp, and also had an excellent feel when used on the scalp and hair, compared to those obtained in the Comparative Examples.

The cosmetic composition for scalp and hair according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the viscosity of the cosmetic composition for scalp and hair is 150 mPa·s or more and 1500 mPa·s or less.
