The POS terminal 20 of this embodiment can execute processes for selling products to customers (processes for registering and settling products for sale to the customer who is the original purchaser; original processing), as well as processes for the seller to purchase products himself (for example, processes for registering and settling products that would normally be sold to a customer for use in a store; exceptional processing). In the sub-screen shown in FIG. 5(B) (as well as the other sub-screens shown in FIG. 6(A), etc.), BT14 at the bottom of the screen is a receipt button that prints and issues a receipt for the transaction in order to complete the payment (cash payment, non-cash payment) of the transaction at another terminal (POS terminal 20-2). Like the terminal designation button BT12 (terminal designation button BT13), the receipt button BT14 is valid when no operation (or action) has been performed to complete the payment of the transaction at its own terminal. Therefore, in the scene shown in FIG. 5(B), which is the state immediately after the operation of the subtotal button BT10, the operation of the receipt button BT14 is valid. Therefore, the receipt button BT14 is displayed in a manner that indicates that the operation is valid. When the receipt button BT14 is operated, the POS terminal 20 issues a receipt in which the information required to execute the payment for the transaction is coded and printed. The customer then takes the receipt to a POS terminal 20 (e.g., POS terminal 20-2) that will complete the payment for the transaction (cash or non-cash payment), and has the code printed on the receipt read by the POS terminal 20 (POS terminal 20-2) that they have been transferred to.

In the subtotal screen shown in FIG. 5(B) (as well as other subtotal screens shown in FIG. 6(A) etc.), BT15 at the bottom of the screen is a voucher button that declares the use of a voucher. The voucher button BT15 is valid when the billing button BT11, terminal designation button BT12, terminal designation button BT13, or billing ticket button BT14 have not been operated. Therefore, in the scene shown in FIG. 5(B), which is the state immediately after the subtotal button BT10 is operated, operation of the voucher button BT15 is valid. Therefore, the voucher button BT15 is displayed in a manner that indicates that the operation is valid. When the voucher button BT15 is operated, the POS terminal 20 allows the clerk scanner unit 212 and the customer scanner unit 206 to read the voucher.

In the subtotal screen shown in FIG. 5(B) (as well as other subtotal screens shown in FIG. 6(A) and the like), BT16 at the bottom of the screen is a registration screen button that displays the registration screen. Like the coupon button BT15, the registration screen button BT16 is valid when the billing button BT11, the terminal designation button BT12, the terminal designation button BT13, or the billing ticket button BT14 have not been operated. Therefore, in the scene shown in FIG. 5(B), which is the state immediately after the subtotal button BT10 is operated, the operation of the registration screen button BT16 is valid. Therefore, the registration screen button BT16 is displayed in a manner that indicates that the operation is valid. The registration screen button BT16 is operated, for example, when changing (adding, canceling) a purchased item. When the registration screen button BT16 is operated, the POS terminal 20 switches the screen from the subtotal screen to the registration screen.

Figure 6 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 5 (B). Specifically, Figure 6 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 5 (B), in which 500 yen worth of coins (e.g., one 500 yen coin) are inserted into the change machine 209. In the scene of Figure 6 (A), in which coins are inserted into the change machine 209 (a state in which an operation (or action) is being performed to complete the settlement of the transaction at the user's own terminal), the operation of the terminal designation button BT12, terminal designation button BT13, and bill button BT14 is invalid. Therefore, the terminal designation button BT12, terminal designation button BT13, and bill button BT14 are displayed in a manner that indicates that the operation is invalid. As shown in FIG. 6(A), when the registration screen button BT16 is operated while coins are inserted into the change machine 209, the coins may be released and the screen may switch to the registration screen. Alternatively, when coins are inserted into the change machine 209, operation of the registration screen button BT16 may be disabled. Also, when the registration screen button BT16 is operated while a credit card is being recognized, the recognition results of the credit card may be discarded (re-recognition required) and the screen may switch to the registration screen. Alternatively, when a credit card is being recognized, operation of the registration screen button BT16 may be disabled.

Figure 6 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 6 (A). Specifically, Figure 6 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 6 (A), in which an additional 50 yen in coins (e.g. one 50 yen coin) is inserted into the change machine 209. In the scene of Figure 6 (B), in which the deposited amount (the amount of coins inserted by the customer into the change machine 209) is equal to or greater than the total amount (payment amount) (the transaction can be immediately settled at the customer's terminal), the checkout button BT11 is valid for operation. Therefore, the checkout button BT11 is displayed in a manner that indicates that operation is valid.

Figure 7 shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 6 (B). Specifically, Figure 7 shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 6 (B) where the checkout button BT11 is operated. When the checkout button BT11 is operated, the POS terminal 20 disables the checkout button BT11, gift certificate button BT15, and registration screen button BT16 as shown in Figure 7, dispenses the change, and prints and issues a receipt (Figure 16 (A)). The POS terminal 20 then displays the registration screen (initial screen) shown in Figure 4 (A) (for example, when a sensor detects that the receipt has been removed).

Next, the display of the POS terminal 20 (POS terminal 20-1) during the in-store transfer process will be described with reference to FIGS.

Figure 8 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 4 (A). Specifically, Figure 8 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 4 (A) where the in-store transfer button BT22 is operated. When the in-store transfer button BT22 is operated, the POS terminal 20 displays in the transaction status display area HR01, as shown in Figure 8 (A), a message indicating that the registration process for the in-store transfer process is in progress ("In-store transfer (registration)").

Figure 8 (B) shows the display content of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 8 (A). Specifically, Figure 8 (B) shows the display content of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 8 (A), in which the vegetable preset button tab is selected and the tomato button is operated. When an operation to specify a product is performed (operation of the button for product registration in the scene of Figure 8 (B)), the POS terminal 20 displays a small screen SG01 in front of the registration screen, as shown in Figure 8 (B).

The small screen SG01 shown in FIG. 8(B) (similar to the small screen SG01 shown in FIG. 9(B)) is a screen that accepts the selection (designation) of the transfer reason (reason for using the product at the store). The small screen SG01 displays a message MG41 instructing the user to select a transfer reason for the product (tomatoes in the scene in FIG. 8(B)). In addition, the small screen SG01 has the following transfer reason options: a tasting button BT30, a prize button BT31, a processing materials button BT32, a cleaning button BT33, an equipment exchange button BT34, and an other button BT35.

The tasting button BT30 is a button that is operated when the product is to be used for tasting. The prize button BT31 is a button that is operated when the product is to be given as a prize. The processed materials button BT32 is a button that is operated when the product is to be processed and used as materials to be resold. The cleaning button BT33 is a button that is operated when the product is to be used for cleaning the store. The equipment exchange button BT34 is a button that is operated when the product is to be used to exchange equipment in the store. The other button BT35 is a button that is operated when the product is to be used for other reasons. The processed materials button BT32 can be selected not only when the product (fresh fish, meat, etc.) is processed and provided as prepared food, but also when a product made using the product (glue, etc.) is provided or when the product (batteries, etc.) is provided as part of a product.

The POS terminal 20 varies the selectable options depending on the type of product identified. For example, in the scene in FIG. 8(B), the identified product is a food product (tomatoes), so the cleaning button BT33 and equipment replacement button BT34 are not selectable (operation is invalid), and are displayed in a manner indicating that operation is invalid (indicated by dashed lines in the figure). In the scene in FIG. 9(B), which will be described later, the identified product is a daily necessities product (AA batteries), so the sample button BT30 is not selectable (operation is invalid), and is displayed in a manner indicating that operation is invalid.

Figure 9 (A) shows the display content of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 8 (B). Specifically, Figure 9 (A) shows the display content of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 8 (B) where the tasting button BT30 is operated. As shown in Figure 9 (A), the POS terminal 20 displays the registration information of the product (tomato) and the transfer reason for the product (the transfer reason selected on the small screen SG01) in the registration information display area HR04.

Figure 9 (B) shows the display content on the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene in Figure 9 (A). Specifically, Figure 9 (B) shows the display content on the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene in Figure 9 (A) where the barcode attached to the AA battery is read. As in the scene in Figure 8 (B), when an operation to identify a product is performed (a barcode reading operation in the scene in Figure 9 (B)), the POS terminal 20 displays a small screen SG01 in front of the registration screen as shown in Figure 9 (B).

The small screen SG01 shown in FIG. 9(B) displays a message MG41 that prompts the user to select a reason for the transfer for the product (AA batteries in the scene in FIG. 9(B)). As described above, the sample button BT30 is not selectable (operation is invalid) and is displayed in a manner that indicates that the operation is invalid.

Figure 10 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 9 (B). Specifically, Figure 10 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 9 (B) where the equipment replacement button BT34 is operated. As shown in Figure 10 (A), the POS terminal 20 displays the registration information of the product (AA battery) and the transfer reason for the product (the transfer reason selected on the small screen SG01) in the registration information display area HR04.

Figure 10 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 10 (A). Specifically, Figure 10 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 10 (A) where the subtotal button BT10 is operated. When the subtotal button BT10 is operated during an in-store transfer process, the POS terminal 20 displays in the transaction status display area HR01, as shown in Figure 10 (B), a message indicating that the in-store transfer process is being settled ("In-store transfer (settling)").

In the in-store transfer process, as shown in FIG. 10(B), on the subtotal screen immediately after the operation of the subtotal button BT10, the accounting button BT11 and the registration screen button BT16 are valid for operation, while the terminal designation button BT12, terminal designation button BT13, accounting ticket button BT14, and coupon button BT15 are invalid. On the other hand, in the normal process, as shown in FIG. 5(B), on the subtotal screen immediately after the operation of the subtotal button BT10, the terminal designation button BT12, terminal designation button BT13, accounting ticket button BT14, coupon button BT15, and registration screen button BT16 are valid for operation, while the accounting button BT11 is invalid.

(Differences in the availability/invalidity of each button between normal processing and in-store transfer processing)
(1) Checkout button BT11
In the case of normal processing, as described above, the checkout button BT11 is valid when the payment for the transaction can be immediately executed at the terminal (FIG. 6B). On the other hand, in the case of in-store transfer processing, the checkout button BT11 is always valid (except after the checkout button BT11 is operated) (FIG. 10B).
(2) Terminal designation buttons BT12, BT13, and billing ticket button BT14
In the case of normal processing, as described above, the terminal designation button BT12 (as well as the terminal designation button BT13 and the receipt button BT14) is valid when no operation (or action) has been performed to complete the payment of the transaction at the terminal (FIG. 5B). On the other hand, in the case of in-store transfer processing, the terminal designation button BT12 (as well as the terminal designation button BT13 and the receipt button BT14) is always invalid.
(3) Coupon button BT15
In the case of normal processing, as described above, the coupon button BT15 is valid when the billing button BT11, the terminal designation button BT12, the terminal designation button BT13, or the bill button BT14 are not operated (FIGS. 5(B) to 6(B)). On the other hand, in the case of in-store transfer processing, the coupon button BT15 is always invalid.
(4) Registration screen button BT16
In the case of normal processing, as described above, the registration screen button BT16 is valid when the billing button BT11, the terminal designation button BT12, the terminal designation button BT13, or the billing ticket button BT14 is not operated (FIGS. 5(B) to 6(B)). The same applies to the in-store transfer process.

In other words, in normal processing, the operation of the accounting button BT11 is valid under certain conditions (when in the state of (1) above), whereas in in-store transfer processing, the operation of the accounting button BT11 is always valid (except after the operation of the accounting button BT11). Also, in normal processing, the operation of the terminal designation button BT12, the terminal designation button BT13, and the bill button BT14 is valid under certain conditions (when in the state of (2) above), whereas in in-store transfer processing, the operation of the terminal designation button BT12, the terminal designation button BT13, and the bill button BT14 is always invalid. Also, in normal processing, the operation of the gift certificate button BT15 is valid under certain conditions (when in the state of (3) above), whereas in in-store transfer processing, the operation of the gift certificate button BT15 is always invalid. Note that in both normal processing and in-store transfer processing, the operation of the registration screen button BT1 is valid under certain conditions (when in the state of (4) above).

Figure 11 (A) shows the display content on the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene in Figure 10 (B). Specifically, Figure 11 (A) shows the display content on the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene in Figure 10 (B) where the checkout button BT11 is operated. When the checkout button BT11 is operated, the POS terminal 20 disables the checkout button BT11 and the registration screen button BT16 as shown in Figure 11 (A), and prints and issues a receipt (Figure 16 (B)). The POS terminal 20 then displays the registration screen (initial screen) shown in Figure 4 (A) (for example, when a sensor detects that the receipt has been removed).

Figure 11 (B) shows the display content of the store clerk display unit 210 when the checkout button is operated in a different transaction (a transaction in which ham is registered) rather than the transaction described above (a transaction in which tomatoes and AA batteries are registered).

(Differences in operations on the sub-screen between normal processing and in-store transfer processing)
In the normal process, the actual settlement is performed at the own terminal or another terminal. Specifically, in the normal process, the checkout button BT11 is operated after inserting coins equal to or greater than the total amount to perform a cash settlement at the own terminal, or the checkout button BT11 is operated after checking a credit card, for example, to perform a non-cash settlement at the own terminal, or the terminal designation button BT12, BT13, or the checkout ticket button BT14 is operated to perform a cash settlement (or non-cash settlement) at another terminal. On the other hand, in the in-store transfer process, a provisional settlement (tentative settlement) is performed at the own terminal. Specifically, in the in-store transfer process, the checkout button BT11 is simply operated (without inserting coins or checking a credit card, etc.). Note that when the checkout button BT11 is operated in the in-store transfer process, the POS terminal 20 displays a checkout amount (indicated as "checkout" in the figure) equal to the total amount in the payment information display area HR06, as shown in FIG. 11(A) and FIG. 11(B).

(Display example for in-store transfer call processing)
Next, the display of the POS terminal 20 (POS terminal 20-1) during the in-store transfer call process will be described with reference to Figures 12 to 14. In the description of Figures 12 and 13, the transaction waiting for in-store transfer call processing (a transaction that has completed in-store transfer processing but has not yet completed in-store transfer call processing among transactions that have completed in-store transfer processing) that is the target of the in-store transfer call process is the transaction shown in Figure 11 (A) (a transaction in which tomatoes and AA batteries are registered). In the description of Figure 14, the transactions waiting for in-store transfer call processing are the transaction shown in Figure 11 (A) (a transaction in which tomatoes and AA batteries are registered) and the transaction shown in Figure 11 (B) (a transaction in which ham is registered).

Figure 12 (A) shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 4 (A). Specifically, Figure 12 (A) shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 4 (A) where the in-store transfer call button BT23 is operated. When the in-store transfer call button BT23 is operated, the POS terminal 20 calls up a transaction waiting for in-store transfer call processing, and expands (displays) the transaction data (registered data) of the transaction on the sub-screen as shown in Figure 12 (A).

The transaction status display area HR01 on the small plan screen shown in FIG. 12(A) displays the fact that an in-store transfer call is being processed ("In-store transfer call (settlement)") and the call period (call period: year/month/day 1 to year/month/day 2). Note that since the transaction status display area HR01 is on the small plan screen, in this example, "In-store transfer call (settlement)" is displayed to indicate that an in-store transfer call is being processed, but it may simply be "In-store transfer call". Also, although the call period has been abbreviated to year/month/day 1 and year/month/day 2, year/month/day 1 is, for example, the date on which the previous (most recent) in-store transfer call process was executed (the date on which the in-store transfer call process was executed, and is not the day after the execution date, as it is assumed that the in-store transfer call process is executed after the execution of the in-store transfer call process), and year/month/day 2 is today (the date on which the in-store transfer call button BT23 was operated).

The registration information display area HR04 on the sub-plan screen shown in FIG. 12(A) displays the transfer registration date and the registration data for the transaction. The transfer registration date is the date on which the product in the transaction was registered, i.e., the date on which the called transaction (in-store transfer processing) was executed. Note that in this example, the reason for the transfer is displayed for the transaction data, as in the sub-plan screen for in-store transfer processing (see FIG. 10(B)), but the display of the reason for the transfer may be omitted (the same applies to the sub-plan screen in FIG. 14(A)).

Other than the points mentioned above (display of the transaction status display area HR01, display of the registration information display area HR04), it is the same as the subtotal screen (see FIG. 5(B)) that is displayed when the subtotal button BT10 is operated in normal processing. In other words, the only differences in the display between the subtotal screen for in-store transfer call processing (the subtotal screen that is displayed when the in-store transfer call button BT23 is operated) and the subtotal screen for normal processing (the subtotal screen that is displayed when the subtotal button BT10 is operated in normal processing) are the points mentioned above.

Figure 12 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 12 (A). Specifically, Figure 12 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 12 (A), in which 500 yen worth of coins (e.g. one 500 yen coin) are inserted into the change dispenser 209. After the coins have been inserted but the amount inserted (deposit amount) is less than the total amount, the display of the subdivision screen is the same as in normal processing, except for the above differences (display of the transaction status display area HR01, display of the registration information display area HR04) (see Figures 6 (A) and 12 (B)).

Figure 13 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 12 (B). Specifically, Figure 13 (A) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 12 (B), in which an additional 50 yen in coins (e.g. one 50 yen coin) is inserted into the change dispenser 209. The display on the sub-screen when the amount inserted (deposit amount) is equal to or greater than the total amount is the same as in normal processing, except for the above differences (see Figures 6 (B) and 13 (A)).

Figure 13 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 13 (A). Specifically, Figure 13 (B) shows the display content of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 13 (A) where the checkout button BT11 is operated. The display on the sub-menu screen when the checkout button BT11 is operated is the same as in normal processing, except for the above differences (see Figures 7 and 13 (B)). Note that the POS terminal 20 may print and issue a receipt in the in-store transfer call process that is the same as in normal processing (Figure 16 (A)), or may print and issue a receipt on which is printed a notice that the receipt is related to the in-store transfer call process (Figure 16 (C)).

As described above, the POS terminal 20 displays a sub-plan screen on which the transaction data of the transaction to be called is expanded based on the operation of the in-store transfer call button BT23, but if there are two or more transactions to be called, a sub-plan screen (such as the sub-plan screen shown in FIG. 14(A)) on which the transaction data of the two or more transactions is expanded is displayed so that the two or more transactions can be processed in a single in-store transfer call process. The sub-plan screen shown in FIG. 14(A) displays the first transaction (a transaction in which tomatoes and AA batteries are registered) and the second transaction (a transaction in which ham is registered) for each transaction.

The POS terminal 20 may also display by transfer reason instead of by transaction. For example, the POS terminal 20 may display a sub-plan screen as shown in FIG. 14(B) instead of the sub-plan screen shown in FIG. 14(A). A display switch button may be provided on the sub-plan screen, and the display may be switched between the display by transaction (FIG. 14(A)) and the display by transfer reason (FIG. 14(B)) based on the operation of the display switch button. In the example shown in FIG. 14(A), the product is numbered for each transaction, but a consecutive number may be assigned across all transactions (in FIG. 14(A), the ham may be number 3 following the AA battery). In the example shown in FIG. 14(B), the product is numbered for each transfer reason, but a consecutive number may be assigned across all transfer reasons (in FIG. 14(B), the AA battery may be number 3 following the ham).

(Display example for in-store transfer inquiry processing)
Next, the display of the POS terminal 20 in the in-store transfer inquiry process will be described with reference to Fig. 15. In the description of Fig. 15, it is assumed that there are two transactions awaiting in-store transfer call processing that are the subject of a call in the in-store transfer call processing: the transaction shown in Fig. 11(A) (a transaction in which tomatoes and AA batteries are registered) and the transaction shown in Fig. 11(B) (a transaction in which ham is registered).

Figure 15 shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 4 (A). Specifically, Figure 15 shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 4 (A) where the in-store transfer inquiry button BT24 is operated. When the in-store transfer inquiry button BT24 is operated, the POS terminal 20 displays the small screen SG02 in front of the registration screen, as shown in Figure 15.

The small screen SG02 shown in FIG. 15 is a screen that displays the results of an inquiry regarding transactions waiting for in-store transfer call processing. The small screen SG02 displays the date and time of the last call processing, the number of unprocessed transactions, the number of unprocessed items, the unprocessed amount, the number of days waiting for in-store transfer call processing (maximum), and the deadline for executing the in-store transfer call processing. The small screen SG02 also has an OK button for erasing the small screen SG02. Note that if there is no call target for in-store transfer call processing, the small screen SG02 may display a message indicating that there is no call target, the small screen SG02 itself may not be displayed, or the operation of the in-store transfer inquiry button BT24 may be disabled (i.e., the in-store transfer inquiry button BT24 may be displayed in a manner indicating that operation is disabled).

The last call processing date and time is the date and time of the last (most recent) in-store transfer call processing. The number of unprocessed transactions is the number of transactions waiting for in-store transfer call processing. The number of unprocessed items is the number of items included in the transactions waiting for in-store transfer call processing (the total number of items in all transactions if there are multiple transactions). The unprocessed amount is the total amount of the transactions waiting for in-store transfer call processing (the total amount of all transactions if there are multiple transactions). The number of days waiting for in-store transfer call processing (maximum) is the number of days waiting for in-store transfer call processing for transactions waiting for in-store transfer call processing (the maximum number of days waiting if there are multiple transactions). The deadline for executing in-store transfer call processing is the deadline by which in-store transfer call processing should be executed. The deadline for executing in-store transfer call processing may be set based on at least one of the date and time of the last call processing, the number of days waiting for in-store transfer call processing (maximum), and a fixed date (for example, a specific day of each month).

Figure 16 is an example of a medium printed and issued by the POS terminal 20. Figure 16 (A) is a medium printed and issued in normal processing. For example, when the checkout button BT11 is operated in the scene of Figure 6 (B), the POS terminal 20 displays a sub-menu screen as shown in Figure 7 and issues a receipt (invoice) as shown in Figure 16 (A). Figure 16 (B) is a medium printed and issued in in-store transfer processing. For example, when the checkout button BT11 is operated in the scene of Figure 10 (B), the POS terminal 20 displays a sub-menu screen as shown in Figure 11 (A) and issues a in-store transfer receipt (detailed statement) as shown in Figure 16 (B). Figure 16 (C) is a medium printed and issued in in-store transfer call processing. For example, when the checkout button BT11 is operated in the scene shown in FIG. 13(A), the POS terminal 20 displays the sub-menu screen shown in FIG. 13(B) and issues a receipt as shown in FIG. 16(C).

On the media issued during normal processing and in-store transfer call processing, information indicating that payment has been completed (deposit, change, etc.) is printed (Figures 16 (A) and 16 (C)), but on the media issued during in-store transfer processing, no information indicating that payment has been completed is printed.

Figures 17 to 23 are flow charts showing an example of the operation of the POS terminal 20. Specifically, step S13 (YES) and subsequent steps in Figure 17 (Figures 18 and 19) show an example of the operation of normal processing. Step S10 (YES) and subsequent steps in Figure 17 (Figures 20 and 21) are an example of the operation of in-store transfer processing. Step S11 (YES) and subsequent steps in Figure 17 (Figures 22 and 19) are an example of the operation of in-store transfer call processing. Step S2350: The POS terminal 20 determines whether or not a product has been scanned, etc. If a product has been scanned, etc. (Step S2350: YES), the POS terminal 20 proceeds to Step S2360. If a product has not been scanned, etc. (Step S2350: NO), the POS terminal 20 proceeds to Step S2370.
Step S2360: The POS terminal 20 registers and displays the product and the transfer reason. Specifically, the POS terminal 20 registers and displays the product scanned or otherwise processed in step S2350 and the transfer reason selected in step S2343. Then, the process returns to step S2340.

Step S2370: The POS terminal 20 determines whether the subtotal button BT10 has been operated. If the subtotal button BT10 has been operated (step S2370: YES), the process proceeds to step S400 in Fig. 21. If the subtotal button BT10 has not been operated (step S2370: NO), the process proceeds to step S2371. Note that step S2370 (YES) above represents a situation in which the subtotal button BT10 is operated after the reason for transfer is selected (step S2343 (YES)) without scanning the product (step S2350 (NO)).
Step S2371: The POS terminal 20 judges whether or not a button for displaying a small screen for accepting the selection of the transfer reason (for example, the transfer reason button BT17 (described later)) has been operated. If the button has been operated (step S2371: YES), the process returns to step S2342. If the button has not been operated (step S2371: NO), the process returns to step S2350.

Next, we will explain display examples when the input order of the transfer reason is [Reason for transfer → Product] (mode a, mode b).

Fig. 31 (A) shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Fig. 4 (A). Specifically, Fig. 31 (A) shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Fig. 4 (A) where the in-store transfer button BT22 is operated. When the in-store transfer button BT22 is operated, the POS terminal 20 displays the small screen SG03 in front of the registration screen as shown in Fig. 31 (A) . More specifically, in the case of mode a (similar to mode b), for example, when the process progresses from step S1301 to step S1302 in the flowchart of Fig. 29, the POS terminal 20 displays the small screen SG03 in front of the registration screen as shown in Fig. 31 (A) .

The small screen SG03 shown in FIG. 31(A) is a screen that accepts the selection (designation) of the transfer reason. A message MG43 is displayed on the small screen SG03 to prompt the user to select a transfer reason. Also, like the small screen SG01 shown in FIG. 8(B), the small screen SG03 has the tasting button BT30, prize button BT31, processing materials button BT32, cleaning button BT33, equipment replacement button BT34, and other button BT35 arranged, all of which are selectable (operable). In other words, when the input order of the transfer reason is [Reason for transfer→Product], the POS terminal 20 does not specify a product at the display stage of the small screen SG03 (because the product is specified after the reason for transfer is selected on the small screen SG03), so all options are selectable.

The transfer reason button BT17 to the right of the subtotal button BT is a button that displays the small screen SG03. In other words, the POS terminal 20 displays the small screen SG03 when the transfer reason button BT17 is operated in addition to when the in-store transfer button BT22 is operated.

As described above, mode a is a mode in which the reason for transfer is always input before scanning the second and subsequent items as necessary. Therefore, in mode a, the transfer reason button BT17 is operated as necessary before scanning the second and subsequent items to display the small screen SG03. Before scanning the first item, the in-store transfer button BT22 is operated to display the small screen SG03 (similar to mode b). On the other hand, mode b is a mode in which the reason for transfer is always input before scanning the items as described above. Therefore, in mode b, the transfer reason button BT17 is operated as necessary before scanning the second and subsequent items to display the small screen SG03.

Figure 31 (B) shows the display contents of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 31 (A). Specifically, Figure 31 (B) shows the display contents of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 31 (A) where the Sample button BT30 is operated. When the Sample button BT30 is operated, the POS terminal 20 displays in the transaction status display area HR01, as shown in Figure 31 (B), a message indicating that the registration process is in progress for the in-store transfer process ("In-store transfer (registration)") and the reason for the transfer selected on the small screen SG03 ("Reason for transfer: Sample"). More specifically, in the case of mode a (similar to mode b), for example, if the process proceeds from step S1302 to step S1303 (YES: the sample button BT30 is selected) in the flowchart of FIG. 29, the POS terminal 20 displays in the transaction status display area HR01, as shown in FIG. 31 (B), a message indicating that the registration process is in progress for the in-store transfer process, and the reason for the transfer selected on the small screen SG03.

Fig. 32(A) shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Fig. 31(B). Specifically, Fig. 32(A) shows the display contents of the clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Fig. 31(B), where the vegetable preset button tab is selected and the tomato button is operated. In the case of mode a (similar to mode b), for example, if the process proceeds from step S1303 (YES) → step S1320 (YES: tomato button operation) → step S1330 in the flowchart of Fig. 29, the POS terminal 20 displays the registration information of the product (tomato) and the transfer reason of the product (the transfer reason displayed in the transaction status display area HR01) in the registration information display area HR04 as shown in Fig. 32(A).

Figure 32 (B) shows the display contents of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene following the scene of Figure 32 (A). Specifically, Figure 32 (B) shows the display contents of the store clerk display unit 210 in a scene in which ham is registered next to tomatoes shown in Figure 32 (A). In the case of mode a, for example, if the process proceeds from step S1330 → step S1340 (NO) → step S1350 (YES: scan ham) → step S1360 in the flowchart of Figure 29, the POS terminal 20 displays the registration information of the product (ham) and the reason for the transfer of the product in the registration information display area HR04, as shown in Figure 32 (B). In the case of mode b, for example, if the process proceeds as follows: step S1330 in the flowchart of FIG. 29 → step S2340 (NO) in FIG. 30 → step S2341 (YES) → step S2342 → step S2343 (YES: sample button BT30 is selected) → step S2350 (YES: ham is scanned) → step S2360, the POS terminal 20 displays the registration information for the product (ham) and the reason for the transfer of the product in the registration information display area HR04, as shown in FIG. 32 (B).

When the transfer reason is entered in the order of [product → transfer reason], the options that can be selected vary depending on the type of product (Fig. 8 (B), Fig. 9 (B)). In other words, when the transfer reason is entered in the order of [product → transfer reason], restrictions are placed on the combination of product and transfer reason. Similarly, when the transfer reason is entered in the order of [transfer reason → product] (both modes a and b), restrictions may be placed on the combination of transfer reason and product. As an example, when the transfer reason "sample" is selected (Fig. 31 (B)), if AA batteries are scanned, the AA batteries are not registered and a message may be displayed to the effect that AA batteries cannot be registered as the transfer reason "sample".

(Special sale prices, etc.)
Products may be offered (sold) at a special sale price (discount, discount, etc.), but when the seller is the purchaser, the product may not be offered (sold) at the special sale price. In other words, for a product with a special sale price set in the sale file, the product may be registered at the special sale price in normal processing, but the product may not be registered at the special sale price in the in-store transfer processing. For example, if a special sale price is set for a certain product (product A), in normal processing, when product A is scanned, product A is registered at the special sale price based on the setting (steps S130 and S160 in FIG. 18), but when product A is scanned, product A may be registered at the normal price regardless of the setting in the in-store transfer processing (steps S330 and S360 in FIG. 20). Note that product A is given as an example of a special sale price for a single product, but the same applies to special sale prices (bundles, set matches, mix matches, etc.) for a group of products (multiple or multiple types of products). In other words, when the seller is the purchaser, the special sale price for a group of products may not be applied, just like the special sale price for a single product.

In addition, discounts may be applied to the total amount (subtotal amount), but when the seller is also the purchaser, discounts may not be applied to the total amount. For example, if a discount of 1 yen for every 100 yen of the total amount is set in the sale file or other file, when the subtotal button BT10 is operated in normal processing, the total amount minus the discount amount based on the setting is displayed on the subtotal screen as the payment amount (settlement amount) (step S200 in FIG. 19), but in the in-store transfer processing, when the subtotal button BT10 is operated, the total amount may be displayed on the subtotal screen as the payment amount regardless of the setting (step S400 in FIG. 21).

(Notification to Promote Execution of In-Store Transfer Call Processing)
The POS terminal 20 may provide a notification to encourage the execution of the in-store transfer call process based on the deadline for executing the in-store transfer call process (deadline for executing the in-store transfer call process; FIG. 15). As an example, the POS terminal 20 may display the in-store transfer call button BT23 in a display mode different from the normal display mode (a display mode indicating that the deadline for executing the in-store transfer call process is approaching) from three days before the deadline for executing the in-store transfer call process until the in-store transfer call process is executed. Instead of or in addition to the in-store transfer call button BT23, the in-store transfer inquiry button BT24 may be displayed in a display mode different from the normal display mode (a display mode indicating that the deadline for executing the in-store transfer call process is approaching).

(Various types of aggregated information regarding transfer processing)
The POS terminal 20 may generate and output (display, print) various types of tally information related to the transfer process. For example, the POS terminal 20 may output a total amount or a product list for all transfer reasons (common to all transfer reasons), or a total amount or a product list for each transfer reason, for the products (products used in the store) registered in the transfer process.

For example, the POS terminal 20 may output the number of unprocessed items for all transfer reasons, the total amount, a product list, etc. for items for which in-store transfer processing has been completed but in-store transfer call processing has not been completed (i.e. items for which payment has not been completed and which are included in transactions awaiting in-store transfer call processing), or may output the number of unprocessed items, the total amount, a product list, etc. for each transfer reason. As an example, the number of unprocessed products ("3" in FIG. 15) and the unprocessed amount ("¥1051" in FIG. 15) on the small screen SG02 shown in FIG. 15 are the total amounts for all transfer reasons for products waiting for in-store transfer call processing, but instead of or in addition to the number of unprocessed products ("3" in FIG. 15) and the unprocessed amount ("¥1051" in FIG. 15), the POS terminal 20 may display the number of unprocessed products for each transfer reason (in FIG. 15, "2" for tastings and "1" for equipment replacement), the unprocessed amount for each transfer reason (in the example of FIG. 15, "¥864" for tastings and "¥187" for equipment replacement), and the product name for each transfer reason (in the example of FIG. 15, "tomato" and "ham" for tastings and "AA batteries" for equipment replacement).

The POS terminal 20 may also output the number of processed items for all transfer reasons, the processed amount (total amount), a product list, etc. for items for which both the in-store transfer process and the in-store transfer call process have been completed (i.e., items for which payment has been completed), or may output the number of processed items for each transfer reason, the processed amount (total amount), a product list, etc.

(Customer's display)
The POS terminal 20 displays different contents on the clerk display unit 210 for normal processing and in-store transfer processing (FIGS. 4(B) to 7, 8(A) to 11(B)), but the display contents on the customer display unit 205 may also be different for normal processing and in-store transfer processing. For example, the POS terminal 20 may display a screen (not shown) corresponding to the progress of the normal processing on the customer display unit 205 during normal processing, and may display a predetermined screen (e.g., a fixed screen displaying "Processing" or "Maintenance in progress" (not shown)) on the customer display unit 205 during in-store transfer processing regardless of the progress of the in-store transfer processing. Similarly, the POS terminal 20 may display a predetermined screen (e.g., a fixed screen displaying "Processing" or "Maintenance in progress" (not shown)) on the customer display unit 205 during in-store transfer call processing regardless of the progress of the in-store transfer call processing.

(Other operating modes)
4 and other explanations have been given assuming that the POS terminal 20 operates in normal mode (face-to-face semi-self-service mode), but the same applies to other operation modes. As an example, when the operation mode is full self-service mode, the POS terminal 20 may display a screen such as that shown in FIG. 4 and other explanations on the customer side display unit 205. When the operation mode is full self-service mode, the store clerk need only execute the transfer process on the customer side.

(Screen name)
In the above, the screen before the operation of the subtotal button BT10 is called the registration screen, and the screen after the operation of the subtotal button BT10 is called the subtotal screen, but these names are merely examples. For example, the screen after the operation of the subtotal button BT10 may be called the settlement screen. Also, for example, both the screen before the operation of the subtotal button BT10 and the screen after registration may be called the registration screen.

As described above, the POS terminal 20 can suitably process products purchased by the seller himself. For example, the POS terminal 20 can execute processes for the seller himself to purchase products (transfer processes) in addition to processes for selling products to customers (normal processes) (see, for example, Figures 17 to 23), so it can suitably process products purchased by the seller himself without manual intervention. Furthermore, in-store transfer processes can be easily processed because the operations following the operation of the subtotal button BT10 are simplified compared to normal processes.

It should be noted that there is also the idea of using a device (such as the store controller 10 or a device used by an accounting staff member, etc.) installed in the back room out of the customer's sight, rather than a device (such as the POS terminal 20) installed in the sales floor (accounting area) where customers can see it, to register products and settle (transfer processing) for one's own company. However, there are problems such as the cumbersome operation of the store controller 10, the difficulty in distinguishing fraud by store staff from fraud caused by bringing products from the sales floor to the back room, and the difficulty of store accounting staff members responding all the time. In this embodiment, the processing (transfer processing) is performed by a store staff member who is familiar with the work and operation of a cashier or checker using a device (POS terminal 20) installed in the sales floor, which solves the problems mentioned above, i.e., it is efficient and can prevent fraud in advance.

The above describes the embodiments, but the above embodiments are merely examples and the specific configurations are not limited to the above embodiments, and include designs that do not deviate from the gist of the invention.

(1) In the above embodiment, an example was described in which a button for which the operation is invalid is displayed in a display mode indicating that the operation is invalid (e.g., grayed out), but a button for which the operation is invalid may be hidden. Note that a button displayed in a display mode indicating that the operation is invalid is visible and may therefore be operated, but if operated, it is sufficient that the button does not perform its intended function (the function that would be performed if the button was operated when displayed in a display mode indicating that the operation is valid). For example, the button may not react to the operation (do nothing), or it may react to the operation and behave differently from the original function (e.g., display an error message).

(2) In the above embodiment, an example was described in which small screen SG01 was displayed in front of the registration screen. However, instead of displaying small screen SG01 in front of the registration screen, content similar to that displayed on small screen SG01 may be displayed on the registration screen (or another screen (not a small screen)). The same applies to small screens SG02 and SG03. In other words, it does not necessarily have to be displayed on a small screen.

(3) In the above embodiment, an example was described in which a message indicating that the registration process for the in-store transfer process is in progress ("in-store transfer (registration)") was displayed in the transaction status display area HR01 (see FIG. 8(A)), but the manner of notifying that the registration process for the in-store transfer process is in progress is not limited to this. For example, instead of or in addition to displaying "in-store transfer (registration)" in the transaction status display area HR01, "in-store transfer (registration)" may be displayed semi-transparently in the center of the registration screen (near the registration information display area HR04 and the preset button display area HR05). The same applies to the display of a message indicating that the settlement process for the in-store transfer process is in progress ("in-store transfer (settlement)") (see FIG. 10(B)) and a message indicating that the in-store transfer call process is in progress ("in-store transfer call (settlement)", etc.) (see FIG. 12(A)).

(4) In the above embodiment, an example was described in which a display was displayed indicating that the registration process for the in-store transfer process was in progress ("in-store transfer (registration)") during the registration process for the in-store transfer process (before the subtotal button BT10 was operated) (see FIG. 8 (A)), a display was displayed indicating that the settlement process for the in-store transfer process was in progress ("in-store transfer (settlement)") during the settlement process for the in-store transfer process (after the subtotal button BT10 was operated) (see FIG. 10 (B)), and a display was displayed indicating that the in-store transfer call process was in progress ("in-store transfer call (settlement)", etc.) during the in-store transfer call process. However, it is not necessary to display all of these separately. For example, when the in-store transfer process is in progress, a display could be displayed indicating that the in-store transfer process is in progress ("in-store transfer") without distinguishing whether the registration process is in progress or the settlement process is in progress. Also, a display could be displayed indicating that the transfer process is in progress ("transfer process") without distinguishing whether the in-store transfer process is in progress or the in-store transfer call process is in progress.

(5) In the above embodiment, the in-store transfer call process is described as being capable of sending registered data (registered data registered by the in-store transfer process in the in-store transfer call process) to other POS terminals 20, as in the normal process (e.g., FIG. 12(A)). However, in the in-store transfer call process, sending registered data to other POS terminals 20 may be prohibited. If prohibited, the terminal designation button BT12 (terminal designation button BT13 as well) may be displayed in a display mode (grayed out, etc.) indicating that operation is invalid, or may be hidden. Alternatively, a message may be displayed indicating that operation is possible (but the button responds to operation) but that transmission is not possible, or a message encouraging the user to operate the checkout button BT11 may be displayed instead of or in addition to the message indicating that transmission is not possible. Also, if prohibited, the in-store transfer call process may not include processing related to sending registered data to other POS terminals 20 (i.e., it may be omitted).

(6) In the above embodiment, the in-store transfer call process is described as being capable of printing and issuing receipts, as in normal processing (e.g., FIG. 12(A)), but the in-store transfer call process may prohibit the printing and issuing of receipts. If it is prohibited, a display may be displayed indicating that operation of the cash register button BT14 is invalid, or it may be hidden. Alternatively, a message may be displayed indicating that operation is possible but printing and issuing are not possible, or a message encouraging operation of the cash register button BT11 may be displayed instead of or in addition to a message indicating that printing and issuing are not possible. Also, if it is prohibited, the in-store transfer call process may not include processing related to printing and issuing receipts (i.e. it may be omitted).

(7) In the above embodiment, the in-store transfer call process is described as allowing the use of gift certificates, as in normal processing (e.g., FIG. 12(A)), but the use of gift certificates may be prohibited in the in-store transfer call process. If prohibited, a display may be displayed indicating that operation of the gift certificate button BT15 is invalid, or the display may be hidden. Alternatively, the operation may be possible, but a message may be displayed indicating that gift certificates will not be accepted. Also, if prohibited, processing related to gift certificates may not exist in the in-store transfer call process (i.e., it may be omitted).

(8) In the above embodiment, the in-store transfer call process is described as being capable of both cashless and non-cash payments, as in the normal process. In other words, the payment method in the in-store transfer call process is described as being the same as in the normal process and is not particularly limited. However, restrictions may be placed on the payment method in the in-store transfer call process. That is, at least some of the payment methods (selectable payment types) selectable in the normal process may be made unselectable. For example, in the normal process, in addition to cash payment, credit payment, prepaid payment, debit payment, and point payment are selectable as non-cash payments (note that the flow of non-cash payment is omitted in Figure 19), settlement (payment) by at least one of cash payment, credit payment, prepaid payment, debit payment, and point payment may be prohibited in the in-store transfer call process. As an example, credit payment may be prohibited in the in-store transfer call process. As another example, all non-cash payments may be prohibited in the in-store transfer call process (i.e., only cash payment may be allowed). As another example, all payments other than prepaid payments (payments using prepaid cards prepared in advance for the store) may be prohibited.

Note that the operation (button, etc.) to select a payment method to be prohibited is disabled (displayed in a display mode indicating that it is disabled, or hidden). For example, if credit card payments are prohibited, the operation to select credit card payments may be disabled. Also, if only one payment method is permitted (in the above example, if only cash payments or only prepaid payments are permitted), the operation to select a payment method may be omitted. For example, the payment type selection screen for selecting the payment type may not be displayed.

(9) In the above embodiment, an example was described in which the POS terminal 20 that executes the in-store transfer process and the POS terminal 20 that executes the in-store transfer call process are the same POS terminal 20, but the POS terminal 20 that executes the in-store transfer process and the POS terminal 20 that executes the in-store transfer call process may be different POS terminals 20. In other words, in the above embodiment, an example was described in which the POS terminal 20 (POS terminal 20-1) that executed the in-store transfer process executes the in-store transfer call process (executes the original settlement) for a commodity (commodity for which provisional settlement has been performed) registered in the in-store transfer process executed in the POS terminal 20 (POS terminal 20-1). However, for products registered in an in-store transfer process executed at a certain POS terminal 20 (e.g., POS terminal 20-1), an in-store transfer call process may be executed at a POS terminal 20 (e.g., POS terminal 20-2 or POS terminal 20-3) different from the POS terminal 20 that executed the in-store transfer process, instead of or in addition to the POS terminal 20 that executed the in-store transfer process (POS terminal 20-1). In other words, a certain POS terminal 20 may execute an in-store transfer call process for products registered in an in-store transfer process executed at another POS terminal 20, instead of or in addition to the products registered in the in-store transfer process executed at the certain POS terminal 20. Specifically, after an in-store transfer process is executed, the transaction data from the in-store transfer process is stored in the POS terminal 20 that executed the in-store transfer process (or another POS terminal 20 or a device other than the POS terminal 20 (store controller 10, transaction status management device 40)) as transaction data of a transaction awaiting in-store transfer call processing, and when the in-store transfer call button BT23 is operated on a POS terminal 20 that does not store a transaction awaiting in-store transfer call processing, the transaction data may be obtained via the LAN 11.
In other words, transactions awaiting in-store transfer call processing (transactions that have completed in-store transfer processing but have not yet completed in-store transfer call processing) that are the subject of in-store transfer call processing call by the in-store transfer inquiry button BT24 may be limited to transactions related to in-store transfer processing performed at the POS terminal 20 itself, or may include transactions related to in-store transfer processing performed at other POS terminals 20 instead of or in addition to transactions related to in-store transfer processing performed at the POS terminal 20 itself. In addition, for example, if one device (e.g., the store controller 10, the representative POS terminal 20, the transaction status management device 40, etc.) stores uncompleted transaction information for the entire store (all POS terminals 20), a POS terminal 20 in which the in-store transfer inquiry button BT24 is operated may refer to the uncompleted transaction information stored in the above-mentioned one device, or may request the above-mentioned one device to send the uncompleted transaction information to its own POS terminal 20.

(12) In the above embodiment, an example was described in which the transfer process was executed based on a declaration made by operating a button (in-store transfer button BT22 in Figures 4 and 4 to 26), but the transfer process may also be executed without an explicit declaration. For example, by preparing different preset buttons for products for sale to customers and products for the company's own use, the transfer process may be executed when the preset button for a product for the company's own use is operated. In other words, the transfer process may be executed by selecting a product without a declaration. The sales data processing system of (1) can suitably perform processing (e.g., transfer processing) when the seller himself purchases a product. For example, the POS terminal 20 can perform processing (specific transactions, such as transactions by in-store transfer processing and transactions by in-store transfer call processing) in addition to processing (normal processing) for selling a product to a customer (see, for example, Figures 17 to 23), so that the processing when the seller himself purchases a product can be suitably performed without manual intervention. In addition, since the POS terminal 20 is not a device installed in the backyard (e.g., a device used by the store controller 10 or an accounting staff member), problems that may occur when using a device installed in the backyard do not occur. The sales data processing system (1) (similar to the sales data processing systems (2) and below) may be configured such that both the registration means and the settlement means are implemented in one device (e.g., POS terminal 20, POS terminal 21, POS terminal 22, POS terminal 23, etc.), or the registration means may be implemented in one device (e.g., POS terminal 24) and the settlement means may be implemented in another device (e.g., POS terminal 25).
