Description

Claims (20)
- 血管壁又は心臓弁内の、或いは血管壁又は心臓弁に隣接する治療部位を治療するためのカテーテル・システムであって、
光エネルギーを生成する第1の光源と、
それぞれが前記第1の光源から光エネルギーを交互に受けるように構成された複数のライト・ガイドであって、各ライト・ガイドがガイド近位端部を有する、複数のライト・ガイドと、
前記第1の光源から前記光エネルギーを受けるマルチプレクサであって、前記第1の光源からの前記光エネルギーを前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれに交互に向けるマルチプレクサと、
前記マルチプレクサに動作可能に結合されるマルチプレクサ・アライメント・システムであって、前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれの前記ガイド近位端部を走査するプローブ・ソース・ビームを生成する第2の光源を含むマルチプレクサ・アライメント・システムと、
前記第1の光源からソース・ビームを受けるとともに前記第2の光源から前記プローブ・ソース・ビームを受ける第1のビームスプリッタであって、前記ソース・ビーム及び前記プローブ・ソース・ビームのそれぞれを前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれの前記ガイド近位端部に向けるように構成された第1のビームスプリッタと
を有するカテーテル・システム。 - 前記第1のビームスプリッタがダイクロイック・ビームスプリッタを含む、請求項1に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記第1のビームスプリッタは、前記ソース・ビーム及び前記プローブ・ソース・ビームのうちの一方を透過させ、且つ前記ソース・ビーム及び前記プローブ・ソース・ビームのうちの他方を反射するように構成される、請求項1又は2に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記マルチプレクサは、前記第1の光源からの前記光エネルギーを個々のガイド・ビームの形態で前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれに交互に向け、前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれの前記ガイド近位端部を走査する前記プローブ・ソース・ビームは、前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれの前記ガイド近位端部から散乱される後方散乱エネルギー・ビームをもたらし、また
前記後方散乱エネルギー・ビームを分析して前記個々のガイド・ビームと前記複数のライト・ガイドとの間の光結合を決定するシステム・コントローラを更に有する、請求項1から3までのいずれか一項に記載のカテーテル・システム。 - 前記システム・コントローラは、前記第1の光源の動作を制御して光エネルギーのパルスを生成するように構成されている、請求項4に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 個々のガイド・ビームが前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれの前記ガイド近位端部を走査する前の所定の時間に前記プローブ・ソース・ビームが前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれの前記ガイド近位端部を走査するように、前記マルチプレクサ・アライメント・システムが前記マルチプレクサに動作可能に結合される、請求項4又は5に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 第2のビームスプリッタと光検出器とを更に有し、前記第2のビームスプリッタは、(i)前記後方散乱エネルギー・ビームを受け、且つ(ii)前記後方散乱エネルギー・ビームの少なくとも一部を前記光検出器に向けるように構成されている、請求項4から6までのいずれか一項に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記第2のビームスプリッタは、前記後方散乱エネルギー・ビームの約90パーセントを前記光検出器に向けて変向させる10/90ビームスプリッタである、請求項7に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記光検出器は、前記光検出器に向けられた前記後方散乱エネルギー・ビームの少なくとも一部に少なくとも部分的に基づいて信号を生成する、請求項7又は8に記載のカテーテル・システム。

- 前記第1のビームスプリッタ、前記第2のビームスプリッタ、及び前記結合光学素子が前記マルチプレクサ・ステージに実装される、請求項14に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記マルチプレクサは、マルチプレクサ・ベースと、マルチプレクサ・ステージと、前記マルチプレクサ・ベースに対して単一の線形自由度で前記マルチプレクサ・ステージを移動させるステージ・ムーバとを含み、また前記マルチプレクサは、前記第1の光源からの前記ソース・ビームの光路内及び前記第2の光源からのプローブ・ソース・ビームの光路内に位置付けられる第1の可動リダイレクタ及び第2の可動リダイレクタをさらに含む、請求項7から11までのいずれか一項に記載のカテーテル・システム。

- 前記マルチプレクサ・アライメント・システムは、前記プローブ・ソース・ビームを集束させて前記複数のライト・ガイドのそれぞれの前記ガイド近位端部を走査するように構成された複数の結合光学素子を含む、請求項1から6までのいずれか一項に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記マルチプレクサは、前記結合光学素子を利用して、前記個々のガイド・ビームのそれぞれを前記複数のライト・ガイドのうちの1つに集束させるように構成される、請求項4から6までのいずれか一項を引用する請求項18に記載のカテーテル・システム。
- 前記複数のライト・ガイドがガイド結合ハウジング内に少なくとも部分的に保持され、前記プローブ・ソース・ビームが前記ガイド結合ハウジングの面を走査するように構成されている、請求項1から4までのいずれか一項に記載のカテーテル・システム。
