Description

The present invention relates to a fragrance composition, a pre-treatment composition, a skin and/or hair treatment set, and a method for improving fragrance longevity.

Conventionally, rinse-off cleansers such as shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and laundry detergents have been formulated with a variety of fragrances. The fragrances that are added in this way remain on hair, skin, clothing, etc., not only during use but also after use, providing a pleasant feeling not only to the user but also to those around them. Therefore, fragrances used in products are required to be appealing during use, as well as to have a long-lasting fragrance after use. However, because these cleansers are rinsed off, the fragrance does not remain on hair or skin easily, making it difficult to maintain a lasting scent after use.

Known methods for improving fragrance retention after rinsing include blending a combination of cationic surfactants, saturated monohydric higher aliphatic alcohols, specific amino-modified silicones, and fragrance ingredients in hair care products such as shampoos and conditioners to enhance fragrance retention, and blending specific ingredients in a specific ratio into the first and second agents to improve fragrance longevity (see Patent Documents 1 and 2, etc.). However, these conventional methods do not provide sufficient fragrance longevity after rinsing.

The present invention was made in light of these circumstances, and aims to provide a new method for making the fragrance of a fragrant cleanser, cosmetic, or other composition used on hair or skin last long and strong after use. It also aims to provide a composition to be used for this purpose.

As a result of intensive research to solve the above-mentioned problems, the inventors discovered that by applying a composition containing an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof to skin or hair, and then using a composition containing a specific lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid and a gemini surfactant, the fragrance of the lactone and/or monoterpenoid can be made to last strongly and for a long period of time on the skin or hair, leading to the completion of the present invention. Specifically, the gist of the present invention is as follows:

[1] (A) For use after using a pretreatment composition containing an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof,
A fragrance composition for skin and/or hair, comprising (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I), and (B-2) a gemini surfactant:

According to the present invention, by using the pretreatment composition on the skin or hair and then the fragrant composition, the fragrance of the lactone compound or monoterpenoid can be made to last longer and stronger on the skin or hair than when the fragrant composition is used alone.

The present invention relates to a method for applying a pretreatment composition containing an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof to skin or hair, followed by the use of a fragrance composition containing a specific lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid and a gemini surfactant, thereby ensuring that the fragrance of the lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid from the fragrance composition is strong and lasts for a long time on the skin or hair. The present invention also includes the pretreatment composition and fragrance composition used in this method, as well as a skin and/or hair treatment set containing the pretreatment composition and fragrance composition. The present invention is described in detail below. Unless otherwise specified, terms used in this specification should be interpreted according to their usual meanings in the relevant technical field.

<Method for improving fragrance persistence of lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid>
The method of the present invention for improving the fragrance persistence of a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid is characterized in that after using a pretreatment composition containing (A) an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof (hereinafter simply referred to as "component (A)"), an aromatic composition containing (B) (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I) (hereinafter simply referred to as "component (B-1)") and (B-2) a gemini surfactant (hereinafter simply referred to as "component (B-2)") (hereinafter simply referred to as "component (B))) is used on the skin and/or hair.

According to the method of the present invention, by applying the pretreatment composition to the skin or hair and then the fragrant composition, the fragrance of the lactone compound or monoterpenoid can be left on the skin or hair more strongly and for a longer period of time than when the fragrant composition is used alone. The pretreatment composition and fragrant composition used in the method of the present invention are described below.

Pretreatment Composition
The pretreatment composition of the present invention is a composition containing (A) an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof.

(A) Acylated Hydrolyzed Protein and/or Salt Thereof
Acylated hydrolyzed protein or its salt is a condensate of a protein hydrolyzate and a fatty acid or its salt. Because it is a protein-based surfactant, it is less likely to cause protein denaturation and has low penetration into skin, hair, etc. Therefore, it is low-irritation and also has excellent protective and softening effects on hair and scalp, making it an important base for use as a cleaning component in detergents. The pretreatment composition of the present invention contains this component, which allows it to form an appropriate amount of foam and remove dirt while minimizing damage to hair and scalp, making it preferable for use as a detergent.

The proteins from which acylated hydrolyzed proteins or their salts are derived include keratin, collagen, silk (silk protein), elastin, conchiolin, milk casein, soy protein, and wheat protein, among which keratin, collagen, and silk are preferred, with keratin being particularly preferred.

Preferred acylated hydrolyzed proteins or salts thereof include acylated hydrolyzed keratin, acylated hydrolyzed silk, acylated hydrolyzed collagen, and salts thereof. Specific preferred examples include coconut oil fatty acid acyl hydrolyzed keratin (cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin), lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin, myristoyl hydrolyzed keratin, stearoyl hydrolyzed keratin, lauroyl hydrolyzed silk, myristoyl hydrolyzed silk, stearoyl hydrolyzed silk, coconut oil fatty acid acyl hydrolyzed silk, lauroyl hydrolyzed collagen, myristoyl hydrolyzed collagen, stearoyl hydrolyzed collagen, coconut oil fatty acid acyl hydrolyzed collagen, and their sodium salts, potassium salts, monoethanolamine salts, diethanolamine salts, triethanolamine salts, ammonium salts, arginine salts, 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol salts, and 2-amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol salts.

Among these, coconut oil fatty acid acyl hydrolyzed keratin (cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin) and lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin, and salts thereof are more preferred.
More preferred are potassium coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed keratin (potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin), potassium coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed silk (potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed silk), potassium coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed collagen (potassium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen), sodium coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed keratin (sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin), sodium coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed silk (sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed silk), sodium coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed collagen (sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen), coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed keratin triethanolamine (cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin triethanolamine), coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed silk triethanolamine (cocoyl hydrolyzed silk triethanolamine), coconut oil fatty acyl hydrolyzed collagen ethanolamine (cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen triethanolamine), potassium lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin, potassium lauroyl hydrolyzed silk, potassium lauroyl hydrolyzed collagen, sodium lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin, sodium lauroyl hydrolyzed silk, sodium lauroyl hydrolyzed collagen, lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin triethanolamine, lauroyl hydrolyzed silk triethanolamine, and lauroyl hydrolyzed collagen ethanolamine.
Cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin potassium (cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin potassium), cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin sodium (cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin sodium), cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin triethanolamine (cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin triethanolamine), lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin potassium, lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin sodium, lauroyl hydrolyzed keratin triethanolamine are even more preferred,
Coconut oil fatty acid acyl hydrolyzed keratin potassium (cocoyl hydrolyzed keratin potassium) is particularly preferred.

In the present invention, commercially available products such as Promois EKCP (potassium coconut oil fatty acid acyl hydrolyzed keratin, manufactured by Seiwa Kasei Co., Ltd.) and Kawasilk (sodium lauroyl hydrolyzed silk, manufactured by Kawaken Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd.) can be used as (A) acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or its salt.

In the pretreatment composition of the present invention, the acylated hydrolyzed protein (A) and/or its salt may be used alone or in combination with two or more types, or both the acylated hydrolyzed protein and the salt of the acylated hydrolyzed protein may be used. Furthermore, the content of component (A) in the pretreatment composition of the present invention is preferably 0.2% to 3% by mass, more preferably 0.4% to 2.4% by mass, even more preferably 0.6% to 2% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.8% to 1.6% by mass.

In addition to the essential component (A), the pretreatment composition of the present invention may contain other optional components as long as they do not impair the effects of the present invention. Examples of such optional components include anti-inflammatory agents, cooling agents, disinfectants, vitamins, organic acids, moisturizing components, polyhydric alcohols, scrubbing agents, UV-absorbing components, UV-scattering components, astringent components, peptides or derivatives thereof, amino acids or derivatives thereof, cleansing components (excluding component (A)), keratin softening components, cell activating components, anti-aging components, blood circulation promoting components, whitening components, powders, etc. The pretreatment composition may also contain aromatic compounds such as lactone compounds and monoterpenoids. In the pretreatment composition of the present invention, these components may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

The pH of the pretreatment composition of the present invention is typically between 3.0 and 10.0, and preferably between 3.5 and 9.5. This pH can be adjusted, for example, by using a pH adjuster.

The pretreatment composition of the present invention is used before using the fragrance composition described below, and can be suitably used, for example, as cleansing agents such as body soap and facial cleanser, hair care agents such as shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo, cleansing agents, deodorants, antiperspirants, bath additives, ointments, liquids, suspensions, emulsifiers (milky lotions and creams), gels, liniments, lotions, poultices, mists, aerosols, powders, granules, etc.

The pretreatment composition of the present invention can be prepared by mixing the above-mentioned components according to conventional methods. In this case, the components are mixed according to conventional methods with bases or carriers commonly used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and quasi-drugs, and, if necessary, various additives, followed by emulsification or solubilization as necessary to produce compositions in various formulations. Examples of the various additives that can be added include surfactants (excluding component (A)), stabilizers, antioxidants, colorants, pearlescent agents, dispersants, chelating agents, pH adjusters, preservatives, thickeners, and irritation reducers. These additives may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

[Aromatic composition]
The aromatic composition of the present invention is a composition containing (B) (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I), and (B-2) a gemini surfactant:

The component (B-1) contained in the aromatic composition of the present invention is a lactone compound and/or a monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I). Both are components that have an aromatic odor.

(Lactone compounds)
In the present invention, the lactone compound is a compound represented by the following formula (I):

In the above formula, R is an alkyl group having 2 to 9 carbon atoms. The number of carbon atoms in R is preferably 3 to 9, more preferably 4 to 9, even more preferably 5 to 8, and particularly preferably 6 or 7. The hydrogen atoms contained in the alkyl group may be substituted.

Specific examples of lactone compounds represented by formula (I) above include γ-hexalactone, γ-heptalactone, γ-octalactone, γ-nonalactone, γ-decalactone, γ-undecalactone, γ-dodecalactone, and γ-tridecalactone. Of these, γ-nonalactone, γ-decalactone, γ-undecalactone, and γ-dodecalactone are preferred, with γ-decalactone and γ-undecalactone being more preferred. These lactone compounds are components that impart the scent of fruits such as peach, apricot, and coconut. In the aromatic composition of the present invention, the lactone compounds may be used alone or in combination.

The content of the lactone compound represented by formula (I) in the aromatic composition of the present invention is typically 0.00001% to 10% by mass, preferably 0.00005% to 8% by mass, more preferably 0.0001% to 7% by mass, even more preferably 0.0005% to 6% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.001% to 5% by mass. When two or more lactone compounds are used in combination, the total amount should be within the above numerical range.

(monoterpenoids)
Monoterpenoids refer to those containing two isoprene units among a group of natural compounds whose constituent units are isoprene units, which are five-carbon compounds. Examples include monoterpenes such as menthol, cinerol, citranellol, camphor, borneol, eugenol, cineole, thymol, bisabolol, α-pinene, linalool, menthone, linalyl acetate, hinokitiol, limonene, geraniol, nerol, citral, citronellol, mint, myrcene, terpineol, carvone, ionone, camphor, borneol, and phellandrene. Of these, menthol, cinerol, and citranellol are preferred as monoterpenoids contained in the aromatic composition of the present invention.

These monoterpenoids may be either natural or synthetic, and may be in the d-, l-, or dl-isomer. These monoterpenoids may also be incorporated into the aromatic composition of the present invention as essential oils, such as eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, clove oil, cinnamon oil, peppermint oil, mint oil, tea tree oil, chamomile oil, rosemary oil, lemon oil, orange oil, thyme oil, sage oil, and clove oil. In the aromatic composition of the present invention, one monoterpenoid may be used alone, or two or more monoterpenoids may be used in combination.

The content of monoterpenoids in the aromatic composition of the present invention is typically 0.001 to 10% by mass, preferably 0.005 to 5% by mass, more preferably 0.01 to 3% by mass, even more preferably 0.03 to 2% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.05 to 1% by mass.

<(B-2) Gemini Surfactant>
The gemini surfactant referred to in the present invention has a dimer structure in which general ionic surfactants are linked by a linking group, and the structure contains at least two hydrophobic chains, at least two ionic groups, and a spacer moiety. Gemini anionic surfactants are preferred.

Examples of gemini surfactants include acylamino acid lysine salts, double-chain biscarboxylic acid compounds, and bispyridinium quaternary ammonium salt compounds. Of these, acylamino acid lysine salts are preferred, and more specifically, diacylglutamic acid lysine salts and sebacoyl bislauramidolysine salts are more preferred.

Specific examples of commercially available gemini surfactants include Pellisea (registered trademark) L-30 (sodium dilauramidoglutamide lysine, manufactured by Asahi Kasei Finechem Co., Ltd.), Amisafe (registered trademark) LL-DS-22 (sebacoyl bislauramidoglutamide disodium, manufactured by Ajinomoto Co., Inc.), Vinoveil (registered trademark)-BS-100P (behendimonium ethyl stearyl phosphate, manufactured by NOF Corporation), Hygenia S-100 (bispyridinium quaternary ammonium salt, manufactured by Tama Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.), and Gemini Surf α14 (dicarboxylic acid having 22 lauryl groups, manufactured by Chukyo Yushi Co., Ltd.). Of these, Pellisea (registered trademark) L-30, Amisafe (registered trademark) LL-DS-22, and Vinoveil-BS-100P are preferred. In the fragrance composition of the present invention, gemini surfactants may be used alone or in combination.

The content of the gemini surfactant in the aromatic composition of the present invention is typically 0.00001 to 18% by mass, preferably 0.00005 to 16% by mass, more preferably 0.0001 to 14% by mass, even more preferably 0.0005 to 12% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.001 to 10% by mass.

In addition to the essential component (B) (component (B-1) and component (B-2)), the aromatic composition of the present invention may contain other optional components, provided that the effects of the present invention are not impaired. Examples of such optional components include anti-inflammatory agents, cooling agents, disinfectants, vitamins, organic acids, moisturizing components, polyhydric alcohols, scrubbing agents, UV-absorbing components, UV-scattering components, astringent components, peptides or derivatives thereof, amino acids or derivatives thereof, cleansing components (excluding component (B-2)), keratin softening components, cell activating components, anti-aging components, blood circulation promoting components, whitening components, powders, and the like. In the aromatic composition of the present invention, each of these components may be used alone, or two or more may be used in combination.

The pH of the aromatic composition of the present invention is typically between 3.0 and 10.0, and preferably between 3.5 and 9.5. This pH can be adjusted, for example, by using a pH adjuster.

The aromatic composition of the present invention is used after using the pretreatment composition described above, and can be suitably used, for example, as cleansing agents such as body soap and facial cleanser, hair care agents such as shampoo, treatment, conditioner, hair pack and dry shampoo, cleansing agents, deodorants, antiperspirants, bath additives, ointments, liquids, suspensions, emulsions (milky lotions and creams), gels, liniments, lotions, poultices, mists, aerosols, powders, granules, etc.

The aromatic composition of the present invention can be prepared by mixing the above-mentioned components according to conventional methods. In this case, the components are mixed according to conventional methods with bases or carriers commonly used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and quasi-drugs, and, if necessary, various additives, followed by emulsification or solubilization as necessary to produce a composition in a variety of formulations. Examples of the various additives that can be added include surfactants (excluding component (A)), stabilizers, antioxidants, colorants, pearlescent agents, dispersants, chelating agents, pH adjusters, preservatives, thickeners, and irritation reducers. These additives may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

In the method of the present invention, the pretreatment composition is applied to the skin or hair, followed by the use of the aromatic composition. The combination of the pretreatment composition and the aromatic composition can be selected appropriately according to the purpose, making it applicable to a variety of uses. The time between using the pretreatment composition and using the aromatic composition can be selected appropriately depending on the combination of the compositions and the purpose, and can be, for example, within 12 hours, within 8 hours, within 4 hours, within 60 minutes, within 30 minutes, within 10 minutes, within 1 minute, or within 20 seconds. The aromatic composition may be used alone or in combination with multiple types. Specific examples are shown below.

(For shampoo and conditioner combination)
(1) A pretreatment composition as a hair cleanser (shampoo, etc.) is applied to hair and the hair is washed.
(2) Rinse with water, lukewarm water, hot water, etc.
(3) The aromatic composition is applied to hair as a hair cosmetic (conditioner, treatment, etc.).
(4) Rinse with water, lukewarm water, hot water, etc.
By using the pretreatment composition and the fragrant composition together as described above, the fragrance of lactone, monoterpenoid, etc. from the conditioner (fragrant composition) can be maintained strongly for a long period of time.

(When using a combination of body wash and antiperspirant)
(1) A pretreatment composition as a skin cleanser (such as a body wash) is applied to the skin and washed.
(2) Rinse with water, lukewarm water, hot water, etc.
(3) Use of a fragrance composition as an antiperspirant (deodorant, etc.).
By using the pretreatment composition and the fragrant composition as a set as described above, the fragrance of lactone, monoterpenoid, etc. from the antiperspirant (fragrant composition) can be maintained strongly for a long period of time.

(When combining bath additives and body wash)
(1) A pretreatment composition as a bath additive is applied to the skin, and then a bath is taken.
(2) Rinse with water, lukewarm water, hot water, etc.
(3) Use of the fragrance composition as a skin cleanser (body wash, etc.).
By using the pretreatment composition and the fragrant composition as a set as described above, the fragrance of lactones, monoterpenoids, etc. from the body wash (fragrant composition) can be maintained strongly for a long period of time.

<Fragrant composition to be used after use of a pretreatment composition containing component (A)>
The present invention also includes a fragrance composition for skin and/or hair, which contains (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I) and (B-2) a gemini surfactant, and is to be used after use of a pretreatment composition containing (A) an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof. That is, the present invention also includes a fragrance composition used in the method of the present invention for improving the fragrance persistence of the lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid on skin and/or hair.

The fragrant composition of the present invention is a composition for use after the use of a pretreatment composition containing (A) an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof. By using the fragrant composition of the present invention after first treating the skin and/or hair with the pretreatment composition, the unexpected effect of a strong fragrance that is maintained for a long period of time is achieved.

The aromatic composition of the present invention is an aromatic composition for skin and/or hair that contains (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I) and (B-2) a gemini surfactant. Specific descriptions of this aromatic composition can be found in the description of the "fragrance composition" in the section on the method of improving the fragrance persistence of the lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid on skin and/or hair of the present invention.

<(B) Pretreatment composition to be used before using a fragrance composition>
The present invention also includes a pretreatment composition for skin and/or hair containing (A) an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof, which is to be used before applying to the skin and/or hair a fragrance composition containing (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I) and (B-2) a gemini surfactant. That is, the present invention also includes a pretreatment composition used in the method of the present invention for improving the fragrance persistence of the lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid on the skin and/or hair.

The pretreatment composition of the present invention is a composition for use prior to application to skin and/or hair of a fragrance composition containing (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I) and (B-2) a gemini surfactant. By treating skin and/or hair in advance with the pretreatment composition of the present invention and then using the fragrance composition of the present invention described above, the unexpected effect of a strong fragrance that is maintained for a long period of time is achieved.

The pretreatment composition of the present invention is a composition for use prior to application to skin and/or hair of a fragrance composition containing (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I) and (B-2) a gemini surfactant. Specific details regarding this pretreatment composition can be directly applied to the "pretreatment composition" described above in the section regarding the method of the present invention for improving the fragrance persistence of the lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid on skin and/or hair.

<Skin and/or hair treatment set containing a pretreatment composition and a fragrance composition>
The present invention provides a method for treating a skin condition comprising: (A) a pretreatment composition containing an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof;
(B) The present invention also includes a skin and/or hair treatment set comprising (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I), and (B-2) a fragrance composition containing a gemini surfactant:

(wherein R is an alkyl group having 2 to 9 carbon atoms).

In other words, the present invention also includes a set of a pretreatment composition and a fragrance composition (skin and/or hair treatment set) used in the method of the present invention for improving the fragrance persistence of the lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid on skin and/or hair. Both the pretreatment composition containing (A) an acylated hydrolyzed protein and/or a salt thereof and the fragrance composition containing (B) (B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I), and (B-2) a gemini surfactant are conventionally known compositions when used alone, but using the two together produces the unexpected effect of ensuring that the fragrance of the fragrance composition is strong and lasts for a long time on the skin and/or hair.

The specific descriptions of the pre-treatment composition and fragrant composition contained in the skin and/or hair treatment set of the present invention can be directly applied to the descriptions of the "pre-treatment composition" and "fragrant composition" in the section on the method of improving the fragrance persistence of the lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid on skin and/or hair of the present invention.

The present invention will be explained in more detail below using examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples in any way.

[Test 1]
The pretreatment compositions (formulations A) shown in Table 1 below and the aromatic compositions (formulations B) shown in Table 2 below were prepared according to conventional methods. The content of component (A) in the pretreatment compositions (formulations A) in each comparative example and example, and the contents of components (B-1) and (B-2) in the aromatic compositions (formulations B) in each comparative example and example are shown in Table 3. The types and contents of components other than component (A) in each pretreatment composition are as shown in Table 1, and the types and contents of components other than components (B-1) and (B-2) in each aromatic composition are as shown in Table 2. The blend amount of each component in each table is expressed in mass%.

Each composition was applied to hair in the following manner.
(1) A hair bundle (also referred to as a hair tuft) (10 cm long, 1 g in weight) was lightly rinsed with warm water at 40°C, after which excess water was removed, and 0.5 g of the pretreatment composition (formulation A) was evenly applied to the hair bundle and massaged in for 30 seconds.
(2) The hair bundle was thoroughly rinsed with warm water at 40°C to remove excess water.
(3) 0.5 g of the aromatic composition (formulation B) was evenly applied to each of the hair strands and massaged in for 30 seconds.
(4) The hair bundle was lightly rinsed with warm water at 40°C to remove excess water, and then dried at room temperature for one day.
(5) Five specialist fragrance monitors gave sensory evaluation scores for the fragrance of the hair bundle on the following five-point scale. The average score of the five monitors was calculated, and the sensory evaluation results were obtained according to the following scale.
The results are shown in Table 3.

As shown in Table 3, when a pretreatment composition containing component (A) was used followed by a fragrance composition containing component (B-2), the fragrance lasted longer.

As shown in Table 3, when a pretreatment composition not containing component (A) was used followed by a fragrance composition containing component (B-2) (Comparative Example 3), or when a pretreatment composition containing component (A) was used followed by a fragrance composition not containing component (B-2) (Comparative Example 2), the scent was weak or not detectable, and the fragrance was weak and did not last. When a pretreatment composition containing component (A) was used followed by a fragrance composition containing component (B-2) (Example a, Examples 1-6), the fragrance was strong and lasted. The fragrance was also strong and lasted in test examples in which the type of component (B-1) or (B-2) was changed (Examples 7-8, Examples 9-14).

The following are examples of formulations for the compositions of the present invention. Formulation Examples 1 and 2 are examples of pretreatment compositions, while Formulation Examples 3-7 and 9-10 are examples of aromatic compositions.

According to the present invention, by using the pretreatment composition on skin or hair and then the aromatic composition, the fragrance of the lactone compound or monoterpenoid can be maintained on the skin or hair for a longer period of time, compared to when the aromatic composition is used alone. The combination of the pretreatment composition and aromatic composition can be selected appropriately depending on the purpose, such as a shampoo (pretreatment composition) and a conditioner (fragrant composition), or a body wash (pretreatment composition) and an antiperspirant (fragrant composition), and can therefore be used in a variety of applications.

(B-1) a lactone compound and/or monoterpenoid represented by the following formula (I), and (B-2) one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of diacylglutamic acid lysine salt, sebacoyl bislauramide lysine salt, and behendimonium ethyl stearyl phosphate:
A fragrance composition for hair containing :
