Description

The present invention relates to gloves and methods of donning gloves.

To prevent rough hands caused by wet work such as dishwashing or laundry, people wear gloves while doing wet work. It is preferable that gloves used for wet work do not allow water to seep in through the gap between the wrist and the opening where the hand is inserted. Therefore, in order to improve the fit between the glove opening and the wrist, it has been considered to fasten a wrist covering that covers the wrist of the glove to the wrist using a hook-and-loop fastener (Patent Document 1), or to provide the glove with a roughly cylindrical sleeve and a drawstring midway along the bottom (Patent Document 2).

However, gloves that use a hook-and-loop fastener to fasten the wrist covering to the wrist put stress on the fastener joint, which can come loose while doing wet work. Also, gloves that have a drawstring at the bottom can feel too tight for some users, while others find the drawstring too loose and unable to prevent water from getting in, since the thickness of the wrist varies from user to user.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a glove having a novel structure that makes it difficult for water to penetrate into the glove, and a method for putting on the glove.

The inventors of the present invention discovered that, after inserting a hand into a glove, by pinching up a part of the opening or the vicinity thereof, twisting the pinched part by more than half a turn, and then fastening the twisted part to the hand covering or wrist covering in that state, the wrist covering can be securely fastened to the wrist, making it possible to stably prevent water from penetrating into the glove for a long period of time.The inventors also discovered that by preparing a first member and a second member that can be engaged with each other, and arranging the first member on the opening side of the wrist covering and the second member on the hand covering side of the wrist covering, it is possible to easily fasten the wrist covering to the hand covering side in a twisted state near the opening of the wrist covering, and completed the present invention.

Therefore, the present invention resides in a method of putting on gloves having a hand covering part that covers the hand, a wrist covering part that is integrally connected to the hand covering part and that covers the wrist, and an opening for inserting the hand provided in the wrist covering part, the method comprising the steps of inserting the hand through the opening of a glove having a fixing part that can be fixed to the hand covering part or the wrist covering part while twisting a part of the opening or its vicinity, pinching up a part of the opening or its vicinity and twisting the pinched up part by at least half a turn, and fixing the pinched up part to the hand covering part or the wrist covering part with the fixing part while twisting it .

The present invention also relates to a glove having a hand covering part that covers the hand, a wrist covering part that is integrally connected to the hand covering part and covers the wrist, and an opening provided in the wrist covering part for inserting the hand, and having a fixing part that can be fixed to the hand covering part or the wrist covering part by twisting a part of the opening or its vicinity.

According to the present invention, it is possible to provide gloves with a novel structure that makes it difficult for water to penetrate into the gloves, and a method for putting on gloves.

A glove and a method for putting on a glove according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[First embodiment]
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 , the glove 1a of the first embodiment includes a hand covering portion 2, a wrist covering portion 3 integrally connected to the hand covering portion 2, and an opening 4 provided in the wrist covering portion 3. The hand covering portion 2 is a portion that covers the hand. The wrist covering portion 3 is a portion that covers the wrist. The opening 4 is a portion into which the hand is inserted. There are no restrictions on the shapes of the hand covering portion 2 and the wrist covering portion 3 as long as they are capable of covering the hand and wrist. The wrist covering portion 3 has a first member 6 and a second member 5 that can be engaged with each other. The first member 6 is located on the outer surface of the wrist covering portion 3 near the opening 4, and the second member 5 is located on the outer surface of the wrist covering portion 3 on the hand covering portion 2 side.

The hand covering portion 2 and the wrist covering portion 3 may be made of the same material or different materials. There are no particular restrictions on the materials for the hand covering portion 2 and the wrist covering portion 3, and materials used in ordinary gloves can be used. Examples of materials that can be used for the hand covering portion 2 and the wrist covering portion 3 include resin and rubber. Examples of resin include polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and vinyl chloride. Examples of rubber include natural rubber, silicone rubber, urethane rubber, nitrile rubber, acrylic rubber, chloroprene rubber, butadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and polyethylene rubber. The wrist covering portion 3 is preferably made of an elastic material so that a portion of the opening 4 can be easily picked up and twisted.

There are no particular limitations on the configuration of the first member 6 and the second member 5 as long as they are engageable with each other. For example, the first member 6 may be a string and the second member 5 may be a protrusion, and the first member 6 and the second member 5 may be engaged by hooking the first member 6 onto the second member 5. Also, hooks, buttons, etc. may be used as the first member 6 and the second member 5.

The glove 1a of this embodiment can be worn on the hand in the following manner.
First, the hand is inserted through the opening 4 of the glove 1a. Next, the first member 6 is picked up together with a portion of the opening 4, and the picked-up portion is twisted. There are no particular restrictions on the number of times the picked-up portion is twisted, as long as it improves the fit between the unpicked portion of the opening 4 and the wrist and allows the first member 6 and the second member 5 to engage with each other, and the number of times can be adjusted according to the thickness of the user's wrist, etc. The number of times the opening 4 is twisted is, for example, one to three natural numbers. Next, while the picked-up portion remains twisted, the first member 6 and the second member 5 are engaged with each other, and the picked-up portion is fixed to the second member 5 (hand covering portion 2) in the twisted state.

3 and 4, the glove 1a worn as described above is fixed to the wrist covering part 3 with a part of the opening 4 twisted to form a twisted part 10. By forming a part of the opening 4 as a twisted part 10, the opening 4 is narrowed, improving the adhesion between the part of the opening 4 other than the twisted part 10 and the wrist 100. Furthermore, by fixing a part of the opening 4 as a twisted part 10, the glove is less likely to come off compared to when fastened to the wrist using a hook-and-loop fastener, and the wrist covering part 3 can be stably attached to the wrist 100.

As described above, according to the glove 1a and the method of putting on the glove 1a of this embodiment, the wrist covering part 3 can be stably fitted to the wrist, making it possible to stably prevent water from seeping into the glove for a long period of time. Furthermore, since the glove 1a of this embodiment has the first member 6 provided in the opening 4 and the second member 5 engageable with the first member 6, it is possible to easily fix the opening 4 of the wrist covering part 3 to the wrist covering part 3 in a twisted state.

Second Embodiment
5 and 6, the glove 1b of the second embodiment is the same as the glove 1a of the first embodiment except that the first member 6 is disposed on the inner surface near the opening 4 of the wrist covering portion 3. Therefore, the same parts as those of the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals and their description will be omitted.

In the glove 1b of this embodiment, the opening 4 is twisted half a turn or a natural number plus half a turn. By adding half a turn to the number of twists, it becomes possible to engage the first member 6a and the second member 5 of the twisted portion 10 where the opening 4 is twisted, as shown in Figures 7 and 8 .

According to the glove 1b and the method of wearing the glove 1b of this embodiment, similar to the glove 1a of the first embodiment, the wrist covering portion 3 can be stably attached to the wrist, making it possible to stably prevent water from penetrating into the glove 1b for a long period of time.

[Third embodiment]
9 and 10, the glove 1c of the third embodiment is the same as the glove 1a of the first embodiment except that it has a cutout 7 where part of the wrist covering part 3 is cut away leaving an opening 4, and does not have a first member and a second member. Therefore, the same parts as those of the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals and their description will be omitted.

11 and 12, the method for putting on glove 1c of this embodiment involves pinching and twisting the opening edge 8 of opening 4 that contacts cutout portion 7. Opening edge 8 is twisted at least half a turn. Twisting opening edge 8 narrows opening 4, improving the fit between opening 4 and wrist 100. Next, twisted portion 10, which twists opening edge 8, is engaged with the portion of hand covering part 2 that covers the middle finger, thereby fixing elastic portion 13 in a twisted state to hand covering part 2. Thus, glove 1c is put on hand 100.

According to the glove 1c of this embodiment and the method of wearing the glove 1c, the wrist covering portion 3 can be stably and closely attached to the wrist inside the glove, as with the glove 1a of the first embodiment, making it possible to prevent water from entering the glove 1c stably for a long period of time.

Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments and various modifications are possible. For example, in the method of putting on a glove of this embodiment, the pinched portion of the opening 4 is twisted and fixed to the hand covering part 2 or the wrist covering part 3, but the fixing method is not limited to the above-described embodiment. For example, an adhesive or a pressure-sensitive adhesive can be used to fix the pinched portion of the opening 4 in a twisted state.

Claims (4)

a glove having a hand covering part for covering the hand, a wrist covering part for covering the wrist and integrally connected to the hand covering part, and an opening for inserting the hand provided in the wrist covering part, the glove having a fixing part that can be fixed to the hand covering part or the wrist covering part while twisting a part of the opening or its vicinity;
a step of picking up a part of the opening or its vicinity and twisting the picked up part by at least half a turn;
and a step of fixing the picked-up portion to the hand covering portion or the wrist covering portion with the fixing portion in a twisted state. a hand covering part for covering a hand, a wrist covering part for covering a wrist integrally connected to the hand covering part, and an opening provided in the wrist covering part for inserting a hand;
A glove having a fixing part that can be fixed to the hand covering part or the wrist covering part by twisting a part of the opening or its vicinity. The glove of claim 2, wherein the opening is made of an elastic material.
