This prevents dust, pollen, insects, etc., from entering the room through the air passage F2. The inner end surface 516a of the indoor wall portion 516 protrudes inward beyond the filter 518. The filter 518 is removable and can be cleaned and replaced as needed. The filter 518 is omitted in Figures 6 and 7.

The lower frame 4 of the window frame 2 does not have an inner frame or air passage, and independently constitutes the lower outer surface of the window frame 2. The length of the lower frame 4 in the left-right direction is equal to the length of the outer frame 32 of the upper frame 3 in the left-right direction. The length of the lower frame 4 in the depth direction is equal to the depth direction lengths of the outer frames 32 and 52 of the upper frame 3 and the left and right vertical frames 5.

As shown in Figures 3, 5, and 6, the lower frame 4 has a panel housing section 41 that accommodates and holds the lower edge of the panel 6. The lower edge of the panel 6 is housed in the panel housing section 41. The panel 6 is supported within the panel housing section 41 by a trim piece 42 positioned on the interior side. The lower frame 4 extends from the panel housing section 41 toward the exterior and interior sides, respectively, in the depth direction.

The exterior wall portion 43 forming the exterior-facing surface of the lower frame 4 is positioned to face the exterior. The position of the exterior wall portion 43 along the depth direction of the window frame 2 is equal to the positions of the exterior wall portions 314 and 514 of the upper frame 3 and vertical frame 5 along the depth direction of the window frame 2.

The inner circumferential surface 4a of the lower frame 4 is provided with multiple projections 44 that extend linearly along the left-right direction, which is the length direction of the lower frame 4. These multiple projections 44 are arranged parallel to each other at regular intervals in the depth direction.

The outer circumferential surface 4b of the lower frame 4 is provided with a flange portion 45 that protrudes downward. The position of the flange portion 45 along the depth direction of the window frame 2 is approximately equal to the position of the exterior surface of the facing material 6 along the depth direction of the window frame 2. The flange portion 45 is the mounting point for attaching the lower frame 4 of the window frame 2 to the building structure, and as shown in Figure 3, it is fixed to the exterior surface of the building structure by fixing screws SC2 that pass through the flange portion 45.

The upper frame 3, lower frame 4, and left and right vertical frames 5 are each cut at a 45° angle along their length. The upper frame 3, lower frame 4, and left and right vertical frames 5 are framed into a rectangle by butting the ends of adjacent frames together. Specifically, the ends of the outer frame 32 of the upper frame 3, the outer frame 52 of the lower frame 4, and the left and right vertical frames 5 are connected, and the ends of the inner frame 31 of the upper frame 3 and the inner frames 51 of the left and right vertical frames 5 are also connected. The inner frames 31 and 51, which form a gate shape through the connection, are fixed to the inner circumferential surface 4a of the lower frame 4 at the lower ends of the left and right inner frames 51. As a result, the air passage F1 of the upper frame 3 and the air passage F2 of the left and right vertical frames 5 communicate in the circumferential direction of the window frame 2, and the outdoor intake and exhaust port F1a of the upper frame 3 and the outdoor intake and exhaust ports F2a of the left and right vertical frames 5 communicate in the circumferential direction of the window frame 2. The projections 321 on the outer frame 32 of the upper frame 3, the projections 521 on the outer frames 52 of the left and right vertical frames 5, and the projections 44 on the lower frame 4 are all continuous in the circumferential direction of the window frame 2.

The frame 7 is attached to the interior end of the window frame 2. The frame 7 is formed by framing an upper frame member 71, a lower frame member 72, and left and right vertical frame members 73, each made of hollow rectangular material, into a rectangular frame. The upper frame member 71 is spaced interior-side from the inner frame 31 of the upper frame 3 and attached to the interior end of the inner circumferential surface 32a of the outer frame 32. The lower frame member 72 is attached to the interior end of the inner circumferential surface 4a of the lower frame 4. The left and right vertical frame members 73 are spaced interior-side from the inner frame 51 of the vertical frame 5 and attached to the interior end of the inner circumferential surface 52a of the outer frame 52.

The lower surface 71a of the upper frame member 71 is positioned slightly above the lower end surface 311b of the panel material housing section 311. The upper surface 72a of the lower frame member 72 is positioned slightly below the upper end surface 41a of the panel material housing section 41. The inner surface 73a of the vertical frame member 73 is positioned slightly outward from the inner end surface 511b of the panel material housing section 511.

On the interior side of the lower surface 71a of the upper frame member 71, the upper surface 72a of the lower frame member 72, and the interior surfaces 73a of the left and right vertical frame members 73, flange portions 711, 721, and 731 are integrally provided via stepped portions 71b, 72b, and 73b that protrude inward. The flange portions 711, 721, and 731 protrude toward the interior side of the frame 7.

The opening/closing member 8 is a member that moves along the depth direction of the window frame 2, thereby simultaneously opening and closing the air passages F1 and F2 that extend along three sides of the window frame 2. As shown in Figures 8 and 9, the opening/closing member 8 of this embodiment consists of a rectangular movable frame extending around all four sides of the window frame 2, and is positioned on the inner circumference side of the window frame 2 and on the interior side of the facing material 6. The opening/closing member 8 is composed of an inner circumference side plate portion 81, outer circumference side plate portions 82 provided on the upper surface and left and right outer surfaces of the inner circumference side plate portion 81, and a corner frame portion 83 provided on the lower surface of the inner circumference side plate portion 81. The opening/closing member 8 can be integrally molded, for example, by injection molding using a resin material.

The inner circumferential plate portion 81 of the opening/closing member 8 is constructed in a rectangular tube shape by the upper inner circumferential plate 811, the lower inner circumferential plate 812, and the left and right vertical inner circumferential plates 813. The opening area on the inner circumferential side of the inner circumferential plate portion 81 is the same as the opening area (the area through which light passes through the surface material 6) of the surface material 6, which is formed in a rectangular shape by the lower end surface 311b of the surface material housing portion 311 of the upper frame 3, the upper end surface 41a of the surface material housing portion 41 of the lower frame 4, and the inner end surface 511a of the surface material housing portion 511 of the vertical frame 5.

As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the inner perimeter side plate portion 81 is positioned on the interior side of the facing material 6 and on the inner perimeter side of the frame 7. The inner perimeter side plate portion 81 extends along the depth direction from the facing material 6 to the frame 7. The inner perimeter side plate portion 81 and the flange portions 711, 721, and 731 of the frame 7 form the same surface along the depth direction.

The upper inner perimeter side plate 811 is positioned below the extension portion 312 of the inner frame 31 in the upper frame 3. The outer-facing end of the upper inner perimeter side plate 811 is provided with an upwardly projecting opening position regulating projection 811a. The opening position regulating projection 811a is positioned below the filter 318 provided on the extension portion 312 and sandwiched between the indoor-facing wall portion 316 of the inner frame 31 and the facing material 6. As shown in Figure 3, when the opening/closing member 8 is moved to its furthest outdoor position, the opening position regulating projection 811a is close to the indoor-facing surface of the facing material 6. The upper inner perimeter side plate 811 completely covers the extension portion 312 of the inner frame 31 from below. The indoor-facing end of the upper inner perimeter side plate 811 is positioned to overlap the lower surface 71a of the upper frame member 71.

The lower inner perimeter side plate 812 is positioned above the lower frame 4. A hollow rectangular frame portion 83, projecting downwards, is integrally provided at the outdoor-facing end of the lower inner perimeter side plate 812. The rectangular frame portion 83 has approximately the same height as the lower frame member 72. The rectangular frame portion 83 is positioned in contact with the inner perimeter surface 4a of the lower frame 4. A handle recess 814 for operating the opening/closing member 8 is provided on the upper surface of the lower inner perimeter side plate 812 corresponding to the position of the rectangular frame portion 83. Because the handle recess 814 is recessed in the lower inner perimeter side plate 812, it does not reduce the opening area of the panel 6 and is not easily noticeable from the indoor side. The indoor-facing end of the lower inner perimeter side plate 812 is positioned to overlap the upper surface 72a of the lower frame member 72.

The vertical inner perimeter side plate 813 is positioned inside the extension 512 of the inner frame 51 in the vertical frame 5. The outdoor-facing end of the vertical inner perimeter side plate 813 is provided with an opening position regulating projection 813a that protrudes outward. The opening position regulating projection 813a is positioned inside the filter 518 provided on the extension 512, and sandwiched between the indoor-facing wall portion 516 of the inner frame 51 and the surface material 6. When the opening/closing member 8 is moved to its furthest outdoor position, the opening position regulating projection 813a is close to the indoor-facing surface of the surface material 6. The vertical inner perimeter side plate 813 completely covers the extension 512 of the inner frame 51 from the inside. The indoor-facing end of the vertical inner perimeter side plate 813 is positioned to overlap the inner surface 73a of the vertical frame member 73.

The outer peripheral plate portion 82 of the opening/closing member 8 is provided extending across the upper inner peripheral plate 811 and the left and right vertical inner peripheral plates 813 of the inner peripheral plate portion 81. The outer peripheral plate portion 82 is composed of the upper outer peripheral plate 821 and the left and right vertical outer peripheral plates 823.

The upper outer peripheral plate 821 is provided on the upper surface of the upper inner peripheral plate 811 in the inner peripheral plate portion 81. The upper outer peripheral plate 821 protrudes upward from the space between the extension portion 312 of the inner frame 31 and the upper frame member 71 in the upper frame 3, and extends in a roughly L-shape towards the outside within the air passage F1 between the inner frame 31 and the outer frame 32. The upper outer peripheral plate 821 is positioned in contact with the inner peripheral surface 32a of the outer frame 32 of the upper frame 3.

The outer-side end of the upper outer perimeter plate 821 is provided with a downwardly projecting flow path closing projection 821a. The inner-side end of the upper outer perimeter plate 821 is connected to the upper inner perimeter plate 811 by a connecting wall portion 821b positioned between the extension portion 312 of the inner frame 31 and the upper frame member 71. As shown in Figure 3, when the opening/closing member 8 is moved to its outermost position, the flow path closing projection 821a abuts against the sealing material 315 of the inner frame 31. The connecting wall portion 821b abuts against the inner-side wall portion 316 of the inner frame 31 from the indoor side.

The vertical outer peripheral plate 823 is provided on the outer surface of the vertical inner peripheral plate 813 in the inner peripheral plate portion 81. The vertical outer peripheral plate 823 protrudes outward from between the extension portion 512 of the inner frame 51 and the vertical frame member 73 in the vertical frame 5, and extends in a roughly L-shape towards the outside within the air passage F2 between the inner frame 51 and the outer frame 52. The vertical outer peripheral plate 823 is positioned in contact with the inner peripheral surface 52a of the outer frame 52 of the vertical frame 5.

The outer-facing end of the vertical outer perimeter side plate 823 is provided with a flow path closing projection 823a that protrudes inward. The inner-facing end of the vertical outer perimeter side plate 823 is connected to the vertical inner perimeter side plate 813 by a connecting wall portion 823b positioned between the extension portion 512 of the inner frame 51 and the vertical frame member 73. As shown in Figure 4, when the opening/closing member 8 is moved to its outermost position, the flow path closing projection 823a abuts against the sealing material 515 of the inner frame 51. The connecting wall portion 823b abuts against the inner-facing wall portion 516 of the inner frame 51 from the indoor side.

As shown in Figures 8 and 9, multiple protrusions 84 are provided on the outer circumferential surfaces of the opening/closing member 8, specifically on the upper surface 821c of the upper outer circumferential side plate 821, the lower surface 83c of the corner frame portion 83, and the outer surface 823c of the vertical outer circumferential side plate 823. The protrusions 84 extend linearly along the depth direction, which is the direction of movement of the opening/closing member 8. The multiple protrusions 84 are arranged parallel to each other at regular intervals in the circumferential direction of the opening/closing member 8. The multiple protrusions 84 of the opening/closing member 8 are in contact with the multiple protrusions 321, 44, and 521 provided on the upper frame 3, lower frame 4, and left and right vertical frames 5, respectively.

Next, the ventilation operation of the FIX window 1 will be explained with reference to Figures 3 to 5, 10 and 11. Figures 3 to 5 show the state in which the opening/closing member 8 is moved to its outermost position. At this time, the flow path closing projection 821a of the upper outer peripheral side plate 821 of the opening/closing member 8 abuts against the sealing material 315 of the inner frame 31 of the upper frame 3, and the flow path closing projection 823a of the vertical outer peripheral side plate 823 of the opening/closing member 8 abuts against the sealing material 515 of the inner frame 51 of the left and right vertical frames 5. The upper inner peripheral side plate 811 and the vertical inner peripheral side plate 813 of the inner peripheral side plate portion 81 of the opening/closing member 8 cover the extension portions 312 and 512. This restricts the closed position of the opening/closing member 8. At this time, the flow path closing projection 821a of the upper outer peripheral side plate 821 abuts against the sealing material 315, closing the outdoor intake/exhaust port F1a of the air passage F1 of the upper frame 3. The flow path closing protrusion 823a of the vertical outer peripheral plate 823 abuts against the sealing material 515, thereby closing the outdoor intake and exhaust ports F2a of the air passage F2 of the left and right vertical frames 5. Therefore, the airflow from the indoor to the outdoor direction through the FIX window 1 is blocked.

From this state, when the operator places their hand on the handle recess 814 of the opening/closing member 8 from the indoor side and moves the opening/closing member 8 towards the indoor side, as shown in Figures 10 and 11, the flow path closing protrusions 821a and 823a of the opening/closing member 8 separate from the sealing material 315 and 515 towards the indoor side, opening the outdoor intake/exhaust port F1a of the air passage F1 of the upper frame 3 and the outdoor intake/exhaust ports F2a of the air passages F2 of the left and right vertical frames 5, respectively. Simultaneously, the inner peripheral plate portion 81 of the opening/closing member 8 separates from the surface material 6 towards the indoor side, opening the indoor intake/exhaust port F1b of the air passage F1 of the upper frame 3 and the indoor intake/exhaust ports F2b of the air passages F2 of the left and right vertical frames 5, respectively. As a result, the FIX window 1 becomes capable of ventilation between the outdoor and indoor sides via the air passages F1 and F2.

The extension direction of the projection 84 on the opening/closing member 8 and the extension direction of the projections 321, 44, and 521 on the upper frame 3 and the left and right vertical frames 5 intersect with each other. Because the projections 84 and 321, 44, and 521 that come into contact with each other are close to point contact, the contact area between the opening/closing member 8 and the upper frame 3, lower frame 4, and left and right vertical frames 5 is reduced. This reduces the sliding resistance when the opening/closing member 8 moves, allowing it to move more easily.

As shown in Figures 10 and 11, when the opening/closing member 8 is moved to its maximum position towards the interior, the opening position regulating protrusions 811a and 813a of the upper inner perimeter side plate 811 and the vertical inner perimeter side plate 813 of the opening/closing member 8 come into contact with the interior wall portions 316 and 516 of the inner frames 31 and 51 of the upper frame 3 and the left and right vertical frames 5 from the exterior side. This restricts the maximum opening position of the opening/closing member 8. At this time, the interior intake and exhaust vents F1b and F2b are opened to their widest extent, allowing the FIX window 1 to provide maximum ventilation. The interior ends of the upper inner perimeter side plate 811, the lower inner perimeter side plate 812, and the left and right vertical inner perimeter side plates 813 of the inner perimeter side plate portion 81 of the opening/closing member 8 slide along the interior surface of the frame 7 and come into contact with the stepped portions 71b, 72b, and 73b from the exterior side.

The opening/closing member 8 may be configured to close the indoor intake/exhaust ports F1b and F2b of the air passages F1 and F2 by the inner circumferential plate portion 81 when it is moved to its outermost position. In this case, for example, the space between the opening position regulating protrusions 811a and 813a of the inner circumferential plate portion 81 and the inner frames 31 and 51, or the space between the opening position regulating protrusions 811a and 813a of the inner circumferential plate portion 81 and the retaining edges 313 and 513 can be sealed with a sealing material. The opening/closing member 8 may also be configured to simultaneously close both the outdoor intake/exhaust ports F1a and F2a and the indoor intake/exhaust ports F1b and F2b of the air passages F1 and F2 by both the outer circumferential plate portion 82 and the inner circumferential plate portion 81.

The fixed window 1, which is a building component according to this embodiment, provides the following effects.

(1) The fixed window 1 is provided around all four sides of the opening of the building and comprises a window frame 2 formed by an upper frame 3, a lower frame 4, and left and right vertical frames 5; a facing material 6 housed inside the window frame 2; air passages F1 and F2 provided on three of the four sides of the window frame 2, connecting outdoor intake and exhaust ports F1a and F2a opening to the outside and indoor intake and exhaust ports F1b and F2b opening to the inside; and an opening/closing member 8 provided inside the window frame 2, which opens and closes the air passages F1 and F2 by moving in the depth direction.

According to this design, by simply moving the opening/closing member 8 in the depth direction from the interior side, the air passages F1 and F2 can be opened and closed, allowing for timely and easy switching between ventilation and non-ventilation. By adjusting the position of the opening/closing member 8 in the depth direction, the size of the air passages F1 and F2 can be adjusted, allowing for arbitrary adjustment of the degree of ventilation. Since the opening/closing member 8 moves in the depth direction, the opening area of the panel 6 does not narrow during the opening/closing operation.

(2) In the fixed window 1 described in (1) above, the sides of the window frame 2 having air passages F1 and F2 are composed of inner frames 31 and 51 that house the edges of the facing material 6, and outer frames 32 and 52 that are spaced apart on the outer periphery side of the inner frames 31 and 51. The air passages F1 and F2 are formed by the space between the inner frames 31 and 51 and the outer frames 32 and 52. The opening/closing member 8 has an inner periphery side plate portion 81 that is positioned on the inner periphery side of the inner frames 31 and 51 and extends in the depth direction, and an outer periphery side plate portion 82 that is positioned between the inner frames 31 and 51 and the outer frames 32 and 52 and extends in the depth direction. When the opening/closing member 8 is moved to its furthest outward position, either or both of the inner periphery side plate portion 81 and the outer periphery side plate portion 82 close the air passages F1 and F2.

According to this, by simply moving the opening/closing member 8 toward the outside, the air passages F1 and F2 can be easily closed by either or both of the inner and outer side plates 81 and 82.

(3) In the fixed window 1 described in (1) or (2) above, the opening/closing member 8 and the window frame 2 are provided with a plurality of protrusions 84, 321, 44, and 521 that reduce the area of contact between them.

According to this design, the contact area between the opening/closing member 8 and the window frame 2 is reduced, thereby reducing the sliding resistance when the opening/closing member 8 moves, allowing the opening/closing member 8 to move more easily.

(4) In the fixed window 1 described in any one of (1) to (3) above, removable filters 318 and 518 are provided at the indoor intake and exhaust ports F1b and F2b.

According to this design, dust, pollen, insects, etc., can be prevented from entering the room through air passages F1 and F2. Filters 318 and 518 are removable and can be taken out for cleaning and replacement.

The above describes one embodiment of the building component of this disclosure, but the building component of this disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, in this embodiment, air passages F1 and F2 are formed in the upper frame 3 and the left and right vertical frames 5, but the air passages only need to be provided on at least one side of the perimeter of the window frame 2. However, from the viewpoint of increasing the wind pressure resistance of the window frame 2, it is desirable not to provide air passages on at least one side of the perimeter of the window frame 2.

The air passage is not limited to being provided along the entire length of one side of the window frame 2. It is sufficient for the air passage to be provided along at least a portion of the length of one side of the window frame 2.

In this embodiment, multiple protrusions 321, 44, and 521 are provided on the upper frame 3 and the left and right vertical frames 5 of the window frame 2, respectively, and multiple protrusions 84 are provided on the opening/closing member 8, but the embodiment is not limited to this. The protrusions may be provided on at least one of the window frame 2 and the opening/closing member 8. If protrusions are provided on only one of the window frame 2 and the opening/closing member 8, the protrusions are not limited to linear protrusions, but may be point-shaped protrusions such as hemispherical ones.
