Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize the quality of washing water to used in the treatment of a metal surface, and to recover and reuse used washing water and its heat, by cycling the washing water between a vessel for washing with water and a vessel for washing with hot water, and properly subjecting the washing water to filtration, heat exchange and ion exchange.
CONSTITUTION: A metal surface is cleaned by the repetition of washing with hot water in a vessel 1 and then washing with water in a vessel 16. In this case, contaminated low temperature water discharged from the vessel 16 is carried through a cusion tank 18 into a heat exchanger 13 to exchange a heat with high temperature pure water, and then into the vessel 1 as high temperature water. On the other hand, contaiminated high temperature water from the vessel 1 is carried through a cushion tank 5 into a filter 8, and a filtrate is discharged to a water reservoir 10. The filtrate from the reservoir 10 is fed to the heat exchanger 13 to adjust its temperature, and then carried to an ion exchanger 14 to purify the water. The temperature-lowered purified water is recovered in the vessel 16. Thereafter, this operation is repeated successively to cycle the washing water.
