Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A 2-oxoquinoline derivative of formula I (R0 is H or lower alkyl; R1 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, or phenulalkyl; R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is halogen, phenyl or phenylalkyl; X and Q are halogen; Y is lower alkylene; Z is -N= or -CH=; n is 0W2; the bond between the 3-and the 4-carbon atoms of the 2-oxoquinoline skeleton is single or double bond).
EXAMPLE: 4-Phenyl-1-[ 3-( 2-oxo-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydroquinolin-7-yloxy )propyl ]-1- methyl-piperazinium iodide.
USE: An antihistaminic agent for the remedy of allergic rhinitis, etc. and a central nervous system depressant useful as a preoperative medicine.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by reacting a novel compound of formula II with a compound of formula R2O.
