Abstract

EXAMPLE:2-( 7-Fluoro-4-ethyl-2H-1, 4-benzothiazine-3(4H)-on-6-yl )-4,5,6,7-tetrahy drophthalimide. USE:A herbicide. PREPARATION:One equivalent 2-(7-fluoro-2H-1,4-bezothiazin-3(4H)-on-6-yl)-4,5,6,7- tetrahydrop hthalimide expressed by formula II is reacted with preferably 1-1.5 equivalents compound expressed by the formula R-X (X represents Cl, Br, I, p-toluenesulfonyl or methanesulfonyl) (example; ethyl iodide) normally in a solvent such as DMF in the presence of a base to 0-100 deg.C for 0.5-8hr.
