In a conventional sheathed heater, as shown in FIG. 1, an electrically insulating material 4 is generally filled between a metal pipe 1 and a coiled heater 3 to which a terminal bar 2 is welded. Magnesia powder is most widely used as a material, but since magnesia powder is hygroscopic, it has the disadvantage that it easily absorbs moisture in indoor atmosphere and deteriorates insulation resistance.

Therefore, by mixing silicone resin with this magnesia powder and heating it to form a silicone resin film on the surface of the magnesia powder, the surface of the filler becomes water repellent and does not easily absorb moisture from the outside, improving insulation performance. Methods have been proposed to prevent deterioration. However, with this method, the heat resistance of silicone resin is as low as approximately 350°C, so after high-temperature use, the silicone resin decomposes and water repellency decreases, and the filler absorbs moisture in the indoor atmosphere, causing deterioration of insulation properties. The disadvantage is that it is easy to cause The present invention overcomes these drawbacks, namely, in order to prevent the insulation properties from deteriorating even when the sheathed heater is used at high temperatures, the surface of magnesia powder used as an electrical insulating material has a water-repellent property that does not deteriorate even after high-temperature heating. The present invention provides a sheathed heater which provides a sheathed heater with the following properties and which does not deteriorate even after long-term use.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below based on FIG. 2.
In FIG. 2, reference numeral 5 denotes a metal pipe constituting the outer casing of the sheathed heater, which has a heater 6 in its center, and terminal rods T protruding from the metal pipe 5 at both ends of the heater 6. There is. 8 is a heat-resistant polysylarylene siloxane such as polysylphenylene siloxane in the magnesia powder filled in the metal pipe 5.

It is an electrical insulating material mixed with water-repellent resin. By applying electricity to the sheathed heater made as described above, the mixed and added polysylarylene siloxane is heated, its viscosity decreases, and it adheres to the surface of magnesia, forming a polysylarylene siloxane layer. Demonstrates water repellency.

This is a sheathed heater that uses magnesia coated with the above resin as an insulating material, and has a heat resistance of 100°C or more compared to those coated with silicone resin. Water repellency was obtained. As described above, in the sheathed heater of the present invention, a layer of polysylarylene siloxane such as polysylphenylenesiloxane is applied to the surface of the particles of the filling material that insulates and holds the heater and the terminal portion within the metal pipe. It has water repellency and does not lose its water repellency even after being heated to high temperatures.
