DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a terminal crimping device used for crimping a crimp terminal to the end of an electric wire, for example.

Generally, when performing electrical wiring, the wire itself not only needs to have a thickness that is suitable for the operating conditions such as current flow, but also must be suitable for the operating conditions of the crimp terminal that is crimped onto it. For this reason, it is common to crimp a crimp terminal to the wire according to its thickness.

Conventionally, in order to crimp a crimp terminal onto an electric wire, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, a pair of core wire holding parts 2, which are wire holding parts, are placed on an anvil 1, which is a base, as shown in detail in FIG. ,
, 20 and the attachment parts 2, , 2 are placed thereon, and the wire crimper 3, which is a mold, presses the core wire holding parts 2, , 20 and the attachment parts 20, 20 to bend and deform them. The electric wire (more specifically, the core wire) 4 is held by the electric wire (more specifically, the core wire) 4 as shown in FIG.

However, in the conventional case, the anvil 1 is fixed at a fixed height, and in order to crimp the crimp terminal 2 to wires with different core wire cross-sectional areas, it is not possible to uniformly apply the pressing force to the crimp terminal 2. The stroke (descent length) of the wire crimper 3 is adjusted in advance for each different cross-sectional area of the core wire, so that when the wire 4 is crimped onto the crimp terminal 2, the contact resistance and tensile strength etc. sufficiently satisfy the usage conditions. Therefore, the caulking height was adjusted.

In addition, as a method for adjusting the crimping height, when the stroke of the wire crimper 3 is kept constant, the position of the support point of the wire crimper 3 can be adjusted.

This adjustment has to be made every time even if there is a slight difference in the cross-sectional area, such as a 0.2- difference in the cross-sectional area of the core wire, which is inefficient and can lead to incorrect adjustment. It is unsuitable for small-scale production (when there are many wires with different cross-sectional areas and the production volume is small).

Therefore, the purpose of the present invention is to make it possible to perform crimping according to the cross-sectional area of the core wire without adjusting the stroke of the wire crimper each time the wire has a similar cross-sectional area. An object of the present invention is to provide a terminal crimping device that can be efficiently produced.

When the pressing force from the wire crimper 3 applied to the anvil 1 exceeds a certain value, the hydraulic pressure reducing machine 5
For example, a safety valve (not shown) provided inside the anvil 1 allows hydraulic pressure to escape and allows the anvil 1 to descend. Therefore, the wire crimper 3 includes the core wire holding parts 2, 2 and the attachment part 2.

,2. The crimp terminal 2 into which the electric wire is inserted is pressed, and the anvil 1 is lowered when the pressing force exceeds a certain value. The crimp terminal 2 is then bent and crimped to an appropriate degree without being crushed more than a predetermined amount. Thus, according to this embodiment, for example, 0.5 mi
If the wire group has a core wire cross-sectional area within L~2.0-, the stroke of the wire crimper 3 can be adjusted without adjusting the wire crimper 3 stroke for wires with different core wire cross-sectional areas within that range.
The crimp terminal 2 can be crimp-bonded to a practically acceptable state regardless of the cross-sectional area of the wire.

In this case, even if pressure above a certain level is applied to the wire crimper 3, the wire crimper 3 is prevented from descending any further. However, even in this case, if the cross-sectional areas of the core wires of the wires are greatly different, it is not possible to use the wire crimper 3 with the same pressure and the same stroke. This will be limited to cases where there is no surplus. As described above, the terminal crimping device of the present invention performs crimping according to the cross-sectional area of the core wire without adjusting the stroke of the wire crimper for electric wires where the difference in cross-sectional area of the core wire is not that large. It is possible to significantly improve workability compared to conventional methods, and is suitable for high-mix, low-volume production. Also, even if a small amount of wear occurs on the wire crimper mold,
Since the amount of wear can be absorbed, problems such as uneven caulking height due to wear of the mold, contact resistance, and tensile strength can be solved, and products with uniform quality can be produced.
