[Detailed Description of the Invention] Conventionally, as a method of insulating the joints of high-voltage cables with rubber/plastic insulating layers, polyethylene, crosslinked polyethylene, ethylene/propylene copolymers, etc., have been used in the form of tapes. Widely used methods include winding the cable in a cable, casting it in a mold, and heating it under pressure to integrate it with the insulating layer of the cable.

As a method of heating under pressure, wrap vulcanized rubber tape,
There are methods of applying pressure using the tension of the tape, heating it with a heater, molding it by heating using a mold, or using a heat medium such as heated silicone oil. The method using vulcanized rubber leaves traces of the lap marks on the tape after heating and requires polishing to finish.
There is a problem in that heating takes time because the vulcanized rubber tape is wrapped and heated. Even in the method of thermoforming using a mold, post-processing such as polishing and finishing is required because marks from the joints of the mold are left. Further, even in the method using a heat medium, a device for heating the heat medium is required, which has the disadvantage of increasing the size of the equipment. The present invention has been made with this point in mind, and by heating the connection part with the reflected heat of a heater that is provided in a pressurized container and has a diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the insulated connection part,
The present invention provides a method that does not require finishing and shortens the time required for heating.

After applying an internal semiconducting layer 2 on the conductor 1, an insulating layer 3 is applied thereon. This insulating layer may be made of polyethylene, polyethylene containing a crosslinking agent, ethylene/propylene copolymer, ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, or the like, which are used as insulating materials for electric wires and cables. As a method for coating the insulating layer, the above-mentioned material may be rolled into a tape or sheet, or may be formed by extrusion injection using a mold. The method of extrusion injection using a mold is more desirable because it provides a clean surface and the present invention eliminates the need for finishing at all after heating and vulcanization. A suitable spacer 4 is provided for the insulated connection part, and a cylindrical heater 5 slightly larger than the connection part is set.
It is preferable that the inner diameter of the heater is set so that the gap between the connecting portion and the insulating layer after the connecting portion is heated and thermally expanded is approximately one rib or less. The reason why the gap between the heater and the insulating layer is made small in this way is to heat more efficiently, and to prevent the insulating layer from sagging when the insulating layer softens during heating, and to prevent the insulating layer from sagging during hot molding. This is to prevent bias from occurring. For this reason, it is preferable that the inner surface of the heater be subjected to mold release treatment such as coating with tetrafluoroethylene resin. A spacer 6 is provided between the heater and the cable so that the connection part is centered, a pressurizing tube 7 is set, and gas is filled in the tube and pressurized. It is preferable to use an inert gas such as nitrogen gas so that the insulating layer to be heated will not be oxidized. In addition, if conductive shrink tubes are applied as inner and outer semiconductive layers on the insulating layer and then heated using this method, the insulation and the cable insulating layer, as well as the outer conductor and the insulation, can be integrated at once, and the connection part It is even more desirable because the shape of the insulation can be held by the shrink tube, which allows for more precise molding. In order to see the effects of the present invention, a cross-linked polyethylene insulated cable with a conductor of 150 microns and an insulation thickness of 7 legs was used, and polyethylene containing a cross-linking agent (dicumyl peroxide) was applied as an insulating layer at the connection part to a thickness of 1 inch. Regarding the strained
A comparison was made between a method according to the present invention, a method in which SBR vulcanized rubber tape was wrapped and pressurized, and a method in which the method was heated in a mold.
