本発明は、例えば横型遠心薄膜蒸発装置に使用
されているメカニカルシールに適するメカニカル

れ、液は液出口7から排出される。回転軸4が隔
絶板8,9を貫通する部分は、第2図に示すよう
にメカニカルシールの固定環10が隔絶板8,9
に取付けられたパツキン13でシールされ、一
方、回転環11は回転軸4に取付けられたパツキ
ン14でシールされ、かつ固定環10の回転環1
1との摺動面でシールされている。上述の操作が
行われると、隔絶板8,9に取付けられたメカニ
カルシール部へ飛沫同伴等により液が付着するこ
とがある。特に、液の性状が固化し易いものであ
ると、メカニカルシールのパツキン13,14部
や摺動面で固化してメカニカルシールの損傷を起
したり漏れを発生するため、安定した運転ができ
ないと云う問題がある。
