Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はホース類に保護体、特に合成樹脂の環
状保護体を取付ける方法に関するものである。
液体の通路として用いる可撓性のホース類(以
下、単にホースという)を保護する手段として
は、例えば第1図に示す如く、ホース1の外周に
金属製のコイルスプリング2を捲回する手段がと
られている。しかしながら金属製コイルスプリン
グは長期間の使用により錆が発生して表面が粗く
なり、ホースと擦り合つてホース外皮を傷つけた
り、またコイルスプリングが折損する例もみられ
る。
上記金属製のコイルスプリングの他に合成樹脂
のコイルスプリングがある。しかしながらコイル
スプリング状の保護体は寒冷時の使用、例えば自
動車が寒冷地で走行する場合、コイルスプリング
間およびコイルスプリングとホース表面間で着氷
が起りやすい。
また更に、第2図に示す如くホース外周面の軸
方向に所定間隔にて多数の合成樹脂製の環状保護
体3を形成せしめる手段がとられている。この手
段はコイルスプリングの上記欠点を改善した点に
おいてすぐれている。この場合、環状保護体をホ
ースに取付ける方法として保護体内周面をホース
表面に接着する方法があるが、作業性および耐久
性に難点がある。また第3図の説明図に示すよう
に、ホース1の外周に金型4を設置してホース表
面の所定個所に合成樹脂を注入成形して保護体を
形成せしめる方法がある。しかしながらこの方法
では、ホースの保護体形成部が合成樹脂の融点前
後の高温にさらされ、ホースのゴム外皮層および
その内部の繊維層が熱劣化する。
本発明は上記の如き合成樹脂の環状保護体をホ
ース表面に形成せしめるに際し、超音波および高
周波誘電熱を利用して、熱劣化のおそれなく強固
に、かつ作業性良好に該環状保護体を形成する方
法を提供するものである。
熱可塑性合成樹脂の二つの被着体の接合部を圧
接し、14000〜25000Hz程度の超音波を一方の被
着体を通して接合部に伝え接合部における被着体
自体の振動抵抗による内部摩擦熱と接合部におけ
る接着摩擦熱とによつて接着部を加熱溶融して溶
着する方法は既に知られている。また熱可塑性樹
脂の二つの被着体を両電極板間に挾んで圧接して
高周波電圧をかけ、その誘電熱にて圧接接着部を
加熱溶融して溶着する方法は知られている。
本発明はこの超音波および高周波誘電熱を利用
してホース外周に上記環状保護体を形成せしめる
もので、保護体となる熱可塑性樹脂の環状部材の
半割り部材、または該環状部材の所定個所を径方
向に分離した分割部材を準備し、ホース外周の円
周方向に上記部材を被せて対向する端面を圧接す
るとともに該部材にてホースを締付けつつ圧接部
に超音波を作用せしめ、または高周波誘電加熱を
行ない、圧接部を溶融接着せしめることにより保
護体を形成せしめるのである。しかして本発明に
よるときは、上記の金型を用いて保護体を注入成
形するときはホース面の保護体形成分全体が高温
にさらされるのとは異り、ホースに対する熱影響
が少ないのでホースの材質劣化のおそれはなく、
また接着剤による場合に比して極めて作業性容易
に、かつ強固に保護体を形成せしめることが可能
である。以下、実施例について図面により説明す
る。
第4図に示す如く、受け台6の上に保護体とな
る熱可塑性合成樹脂の半割り部材5aを、更にそ
の上にホース1を載置する。なお、この場合、ホ
ース1は内管ゴム13、その周りの補強繊維層1
2およびゴム外皮11より成る。次にホース1上
部の上記半割り部材5aと対象位置に他の半割り
部材5bを載置する。該半割り部材5bの両端面
には突条53b,54bが形成されている。次に
超音波発振機に取付けたホース7の先端脚部にて
半割り部材5bの両側の突出部51b,52bを
一方の半割り部材5aの対向突出部51a,52
aに押し付けてホース1を締付けるとともに両半
割り部材5a,5bの対向端面を圧接せしめ、超
音波振動を半割り部材5bに伝えることにより対
向端面に強圧された突条53b,54bが溶融し
て半割り体5aの対向端面と溶着されるのであ
る。このような方法で、第5図に示す如くホース
1の外周の所定位置に複数個の保護体5を形成せ
しめた保護体付きホース1を得るのである。
なお、上記実施例においては、超音波振動が伝
達される半割り体5bの端面に突条53b,54
bを設けたが、これは必ずしも必要でなく、平面
状の対向端面を圧接することによつても溶着する
ことができる。ただし、突条部には振動エネルギ
ーが集中するとともに対向面に強く圧接されるた
め溶融しやすく、かつ該部のみ溶融せしめること
ができるのでホースに対する熱影響を可及的に小
さくし得る有利である。
第6図に示す実施例の上記実施例との相異は内
周面にそれぞれ爪部51a,55bを設けた半割
り部材5a,5bを用いた点である。これによ
り、半割り部材5a,5bをホース1に締付けた
際に爪部51a,55bがホース外皮11にくい
込み、保護体のホースに対する固着力が増加せし
められる。
第7図に示す実施例では、所定箇所に段状の分
離部50cを形成した保護体たる一体の環状部材
5cを用い、該部材を上記ホース1の外周に嵌着
し、分離部50cの軸対象側を受け台60にて支
持するとともに環状部材5cを両側面より締付け
治具81,82にて挾圧し、分離部50cの上部
にホーン70を押圧して超音波振動を伝達し、該
分離部50cを溶着せしめるのである。
以上は超音波振動を利用した場合の実施例であ
るが、高周波誘電加熱によるときは、例えば第4
図の如き半割り部材5a,5b(ただし、突条5
3b,54bは必要としない)をホース外周に配
し、両部材5a,5bの対向する突出部51a,
51bおよび52a,52bをそれぞれ上下より
電極板にて挾圧して対向端面を圧接せしめ、該圧
接部に高周波交流電流を通して誘電熱により圧接
部を加熱溶融せしめて溶着するのである。
保護体を構成する熱可塑性樹脂としては、超音
波溶着をする場合にはAS樹脂、ABS樹脂、ポリ
スチロール樹脂等が、また高周波溶着とする場合
には塩化ビニル樹脂等が適している。
上記の如く本発明は、環状保護体となる熱可塑
性合成樹脂部材をホース外周の所定位置に配し、
該部材にてホースを締付けるとともに該部材の端
面を圧接せしめ、該圧接部を超音波振動および高
周波誘電熱のいずれかで加熱溶融せしめて溶着す
ることによりホース外周に環状保護体を形成せし
めるものである。しかして本発明の方法によると
きは、接着剤による場合よりも作業性にすぐれ、
また圧接部のみを溶融せしめて溶着するために、
金型を用いて保護体を注入成形する場合に比して
ホースへの熱影響が少なく極めて有利である。

第1図は金属コイルスプリングを装着した従来
のホース、第2図は従来法により樹脂環状保護体
を組付けたホース、第3図は従来法によりホース
に樹脂環状保護体を形成せしめる態様を示し、第
4図、第6図、第7図はそれぞれ本発明により超
音波振動にてホースに樹脂環状保護体を形成せし
める実施態様、第5図は第4図実施例により得ら

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 ホース類の外周に環状の保護体を取付けるに
    際し、熱可塑性合成樹脂よりなる環状部材を分割
    した分割部材の内周面をホース類の外周面に圧接
    するとともに該分割部材の対向端面を圧接し、該
    端面圧接部を超音波振動および高周波誘電熱のい
    ずれかにより溶融して溶着せしめることを特徴と
    するホース類に保護体を取付ける方法。
