させて配置したものであり、これに対する外部ケ
ーブル側のコネクタはプリント板側の各雄コンタ
クトに対応した雌コンタクトを有し、各雌コンタ
クトはコネクタ内部で外部ケーブルの各ワイヤ端
部に接続している。この外部ケーブル側コネクタ
は多数の雌コンタクトを有するコネクタ本体およ
びカバーからなり、各雌コンタクトの先端(雄コ
ンタクトとの接続端部の反対側)に外部ケーブル
の被覆ワイヤの露出端部を接合し、カバーを上か
ら結合させてコネクタ本体およびカバー間に上記
被覆ワイヤを保持している。このような外部ケー
ブルの被覆ワイヤ端部の被覆剥き作業あるいは各
1本1本のワイヤとコンタクトとの接合作業は非
常に面倒でありコネクタ製造に多くの手間を要し
ていた。

ワイヤに圧接するための切欠き溝を先端に形成し
た多数のコンタクトを有するコネクタ本体および
このコネクタ本体上に結合して上記被覆ワイヤを
コネクタ本体上に保持するためのカバーからなる
コネクタに上記被覆ワイヤを結線するための装置
であつて、各々多数のワイヤ保持用櫛歯を有する
第1および第2櫛歯台間に上記カバーを支持する
ための上下移動可能なカバー保持台を設け、この
カバー保持台の上方にカツターを備えた圧接ヘツ
ドを上下移動可能に配置し、上記第1および第2
櫛歯台のうち一方はカバー保持台に対し接近離反
可能とし、この櫛歯台がカバー保持台から離反す
るとカバー保持台が上昇し、この櫛歯台がカバー
保持台に接近するとカバー保持台が下降するよう
に構成している。
