The present invention relates to a backing composition for rugs, and more particularly to a backing composition for rugs that has a rust-inhibiting effect on metal that comes into contact with the backing surface on the back side of the rug. Rugs are broadly divided into two types: tufted carpets and needle punch carpets. These carpets are coated with an emulsion of synthetic resin, synthetic rubber, etc., or a blend thereof, and then dried, and subjected to a backing process for the purpose of imparting thread removal strength and dimensional stability. Thereafter, for automobiles, a polyethylene hot-melt coating is sometimes applied and integrally molded with felt, which is a cushion material, to match the shape of the floor. In recent years, flame retardant regulations have been tightening, and needle-punch carpets for automobiles have been manufactured using vinyl acetate.
Emulsions of ethylene copolymers and vinyl acetate-ethylene multicomponent copolymers have achieved considerable success because they are easily flame retardant and have excellent adhesive properties. In particular, vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride-ethylene terpolymer emulsion has a large amount of halogen in its molecules, and depending on its content, it even has self-extinguishing properties. By using this as a binder and adding a backing agent, it is possible to achieve the objective with a smaller amount of flame retardant. However, when a carpet backed with a compound containing vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion as a binder is installed in a car, for example, metal contact between the backing surface of the carpet, a metal surface, and a stopper, etc. The drawback was that it was easy to cause rust on the parts. For these reasons, the present inventors added alkanolamines to the vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion as a result of various studies in order to specifically solve the problem of rusting without impairing its inherent performance. It has been discovered that an extremely excellent rust suppression effect can be obtained by this, and the present invention has been developed. That is, the present invention provides a rug comprising a vinyl acetate-ethylene binary or multicomponent copolymer emulsion and alkanolamines as essential components, and optionally containing fillers, flame retardants, dispersants, thickeners, etc. The present invention provides a bagging composition for use in cosmetics. The main binder of the bucking composition of the present invention is vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion or vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride-ethylene,
It is an emulsion of a copolymer such as vinyl acetate-ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid ester, and a copolymer in which a small amount of a functional monomer such as (meth)acrylic acid or N-methylolacrylamide is copolymerized. It can be obtained by the method. Alkanolamines are lower alcohol-modified amines such as monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, and triethanolamine, and the amount used is usually 0.1 to 10% by weight based on the vinyl acetate-ethylene binary or multicomponent copolymer emulsion.
Preferably it is 0.5 to 5% by weight. The bucking composition of the present invention is basically composed of the above-mentioned copolymer emulsion and alkanolamines. Compounds, conventionally known flame retardants such as ammonium polyphosphate, antimony trioxide, zinc borate, barium metaborate, aluminum hydroxide, and inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate and aluminum hydroxide may be added. Further, conventionally known thickeners, dispersants, etc. may be appropriately blended. The fiber material of the rug using the backing composition of the present invention is not limited to nylon, polypropylene, polyester, polyacrylonitrile, etc., and the structure of the rug is not limited to tufted carpet, needle punch carpet, etc. The method for applying the composition to the rug may be any conventional method such as roll coating or spraying, and after drying, a polyethylene coating may be applied thereon as required. A rug backed with the bucking composition of the present invention is prevented from rusting even when it comes into contact with metal surfaces such as automobiles or fasteners. The present invention will be explained below with reference to Examples. Examples 1 to 4 and Control Examples 1 to 3 Sumikaflex #830 (vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride-ethylene ternary copolymer emulsion, manufactured by Sumitomo Gakusha Co., Ltd.) and Sumikaflex #753 (vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion) were used as the main binders. Emulsion (manufactured by Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd.) was used to prepare each backing composition according to the formulation shown in Table 1. Reference Example 1 The backing compositions obtained in Examples 1 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3 were applied to the back side of a needle punch carpet made of 100% polypropylene fibers using a transfer method to a solid weight of 150 g/m 2 . Dry at 110℃ for 20 minutes. A mild steel plate test piece (manufactured by Nippon Test Panel Co., Ltd.) is brought into close contact with the backing surface of this workpiece, and the backing surface is narrowed from both sides to form a sample. This sample was placed in a desiccator whose humidity was adjusted to 95% RH, and the state of rust on the test piece was observed. The results are shown in Table 1.
