Such tunnels are formed by excavating earth and sand using the shield method and lining the excavated walls with concrete or steel segments. , or when a cross-sectional area wider than the tunnel cross-section is required, such as a place for wiring, connections, or sewage maintenance, the conventional shield construction method involves excavating a vertical shaft from the ground after excavating the tunnel. It is normal to construct a widened section.

As described above, the present invention provides an expanded wall by providing a soil intake port having a size that allows manual or mechanical digging on a wall surface facing the ground side, and attaching an opening/closing lid to the soil intake port. The segment member for forming the widening wall is assembled into a part of the segment for lining the tunnel so that it can be press-fitted outward in the direction perpendicular to the length direction of the tunnel. By pressing and propelling the earth from the inside using jacks, etc., the earth and sand are allowed to flow into the tunnel through the earth and sand intake ports of the segment members for forming widening walls, and when the ground is hard, manual digging is carried out through the earth and sand intake ports. Or, because it relates to a tunnel widening method characterized by forming a widening part in a tunnel by driving a widening wall forming segment member into the ground while performing mechanical excavation,
A soil intake port with an opening large enough to allow manual or mechanical digging is provided on the wall surface of the segment member for forming widening walls facing the ground, and an opening/closing lid is attached to the soil intake port. Of course, by closing the earth and sand intake with a lid when assembling the tunnel, natural inflow of earth and sand into the tunnel can be prevented. Press the forming segment member into the ground,
When propelled, earth and sand can be actively flowed into the tunnel from the entrance, and the ground can propel the segment members for width expansion.
Since it does not loosen due to pressure, it is possible to reliably prevent the ground from sinking.Furthermore, if the ground is hard, smooth excavation depending on the geology can be performed by hand or mechanical digging through the earth and sand intake port. This allows the widened portion of the tunnel to be formed efficiently.

As described above, according to the tunnel widening method of the present invention, a desired widening section can be formed from inside the tunnel without the need to excavate a shaft from the ground, and therefore problems such as acquiring land for a shaft can be completely solved. Moreover, widened parts with large and small spatial areas can be easily obtained without being limited by the press-fit distance of segment members or the length in the tunnel direction, and can be used in branch tunnels and subway stations. It can also be used for construction such as.

Furthermore, according to the method of the present invention, after forming the widening section, a sealing machine can be installed on the widening section to use it as the starting mouth of a branch tunnel. It can be formed in either direction.
