【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は誘導溶解炉の炉壁内面に付着したスラ
グを取り除くスラグ除去装置の改良に関する。

問題や省力化、作業環境の改善等から誘導加熱に
よる電気的な溶解装置が幅広く採用されてきた。
また誘導溶解では撹拌作用が有るため溶解金属が
良質なるものが得られることも大きな利点であ
る。しかし誘導溶解にて短時間で溶解すると言え
ども溶解時に溶解材料が大気と接触し酸化する他
に、溶解金属材料中に含まれている不純物等がス
ラグとなり、撹拌作用によつてこのスラグが溶湯
の内へ巻き込まれ炉壁内面に付着する。この為溶
解作業を繰返すと炉壁に次々とスラグが付着して
行き、厚い皮膜を構成する。この炉壁内面に付着
したスラグはるつぼ内の容積を小さくし、溶解容
量を少なくするばかりでなく、溶湯と加熱コイル
の距離を大きくし、溶解効率を低下させる欠点が
あるため、従来は炉壁内面に付着したスラグは作
業者がスコツプ状の工具を手にして炉壁上面に立
ち取除き作業を行なつている。この為作業者は高
温のしかも危険な作業にさらされなければならな
い欠点があり、また人手による為効率の良い作業
が行えない欠点があつた。

8′,10の変りにスクリユーを用いても同様の
動作を行うことが可能である。

第6図の状態からシリンダー4のロツド4aを後
退させれば、炉壁掻き3は、溶湯2内に没入され
耐火材1aの内壁1dに付着しているスラグ2a
を掻き取除きながら、内壁1dに添つて下降し第
7図の如き状態となる。そしてシリンダー4のロ
ツド4aを前進させることにより、炉壁掻き3を
上昇させた後シリンダー4′のロツド4a′を後退
させ炉壁掻き3′を下降させ第8図の如き状態と
することにより耐火材1aの内壁1dに付着した
スラグ2aを掻き取除く。第8図の状態から逆に
第6図−第5図−第4図の動作で炉壁掻き3,
3′を上昇させる。以上に述べたものは第9図に
示す如く炉壁掻き3,3′を各2個の合計4個の
炉壁掻きの場合であり、この炉壁掻きの数はシリ
ンダー4,4′の内径即ちシリンダーの押込み力
に応じて何個にしても本発明と同一作用が得られ
る。また炉壁掻きは第10図に示す如く炉壁に当
る部分を突起させスラグを取除き易い様な炉壁掻
きの形状にすれば本発明の作用は一層効果を発揮
することも云うまでもない。
