DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for welding an annular plate (a plate located on the outer periphery of the bottom plate and to which side plates are joined) and a bottom plate in a cylindrical steel tank for storing crude oil, etc. The present invention relates to a welding method that does not cause distortion or welding defects.

As is well known, for cylindrical tanks made of steel plates that store crude oil, etc., first an annular plate corresponding to the outer circumference of the bottom plate is laid on the foundation, then the lowest side plate is assembled on top of it, and the roundness is checked. After that, the inner bottom plate surrounded by the annular plate is then laid down, and the upper side plates are stacked one after another on top of the lowermost side plate and welded to assemble the whole.

When welding the divided plates, first weld the annual plate part,
The inner bottom plate portions are welded sequentially starting from the one located approximately in the center of the bottom plate by a stepping stone method or a retreating method, and the annular plate and the bottom plate are usually welded last.

In other words, the distortions and dimensional deviations that occurred due to the welding of the annular plate part and the bottom plate part, which were carried out separately to join the side plates, can be corrected when the annular plate part and the bottom plate part, which are the final joining work, are removed. This is to adjust and join the bottom plate and the annular plate during welding, and as a result, there is no distortion or unevenness in each part of the integrally formed bottom plate and annular plate, and the bottom plate part is flat as a whole.

By the way, conventionally, the welded joints between the bottom plate part and the bottom plate part and the annular plate part are usually lap joints in view of the economy and workability of welding.

However, in recent years, due to the occurrence of oil tank accidents, etc., the welded joint between the annular plate and the bottom plate has become legally regulated, requiring that a butt joint with a backing plate be used in principle. .

That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the annular plate 1, the bottom plate 2, one bottom plate material 2a constituting the bottom plate 2, and the other bottom plate material 2b adjacent to the one bottom plate material 2a are connected to the backing plate 3, respectively. It became necessary to weld with a butt joint using 3'.

However, as can be understood from this FIG. There is a gap 6 between the backing plate 3 and the side edge 5.

As a result, one bottom plate material 2a adjacent thereto
and another adjacent bottom plate material 2b are butt welded, the gap 6 is located on the lower surface of the weld line 7, and a type of gap 6 due to the gap 6 is located on a part of the lower surface of the weld line 7. This results in the formation of a notch, which causes welding defects (cracks).

Therefore, in order to prevent the occurrence of such defects, it is desirable to have a structure in which there is no gap 6. However, this gap 6 functions as a buffer gap for absorbing the elongation of the member due to the addition of welding heat when joining the bottom plate. That is, backing plate 3'
is applied to the back side of one adjacent bottom plate material 2a and another adjacent bottom plate material 2b, and when the bottom plates are welded together from the upper surface, the backing plate 3' expands together with the joined bottom plates due to welding heat. The role of the gap 6 is to absorb this length of extension.

On the other hand, if the backing plate 3' is arranged so that this gap 6 does not occur before welding, there will be no escape in the longitudinal direction of the backing plate when it expands due to welding heat.
A large welding distortion occurs in the bottom plate, which causes major problems in terms of appearance and joint strength.

Therefore, the present invention has developed a welding method using a butt joint with a backing plate that is free from the risk of such defects occurring.

The feature of this method is that the bottom plates are first joined together by butt welding on one side with a backing plate, and then the side edges of the backing plates of the annular plate and the bottom plate are joined, and the edges of the backing plates of the bottom plates are then joined together. After inserting and sandwiching a insert plate thinner than the backing plate in advance above the gap between the edge and the bottom surface of the annular plate 1 and the bottom plates 2, 2, the annular plate and the bottom plate are butted together. It is designed to be welded on one side.

Furthermore, to specifically explain this based on the example drawings, as shown in FIG. Backing plate 3'
On the gap 6 formed between the edge 4 of the annular plate 1 and the side edge 5 of the backing plate 3 of the butt joint between the annular plate 1 and the bottom plate 2, A thin insert plate 8 is placed, and then the annular plate 1 and the bottom plate 2 are butt welded on one side.

As described above, in the method of the present invention, one bottom plate material 2a
A thin insert plate 8 is placed on the upper surface of the gap formed between the edge 4 of the backing plate 3' at the joint between the annular plate 1 and the bottom plate 2, and the side edge 5 of the backing plate 3 at the joint between the annular plate 1 and the bottom plate 2. Place the annular plate 1
Since the joint welding is performed between the bottom plate 2 and the bottom plate 2, the formation of a notch-shaped weld seam due to the gap 6 is not observed, and therefore there is no fear of cracking from this part.

Furthermore, since the backing plates 3 and 3' used at the joint between the annular plate 1 and the bottom plate 2, and one bottom plate material 2a and another bottom plate material 2b, remain separated by the gap 6, the welding The generation of distortion is also suppressed.

As described above, if the annular plate 1 and the bottom plate 2 are welded by the method of the present invention, the occurrence of welding defects during assembly and welding of the entire bottom plate including the annular plate can be suppressed. The bottom plate has a safe welded structure.
