It has a disk shape and has a through hole 11a in the center. When recording or reproducing information by focusing a laser beam (not shown) on the recording layer 12, the glass or synthetic resin used as the material for the substrate 11 needs to be transparent. Examples of such synthetic resins include polyolefins such as polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, copolymers of vinyl chloride and ethylene with vinyl acetate, polycarbonate, polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, and polyacrylic acid. and lower alkyl esters of polymethacrylic acid. In order to obtain a substrate 11 with good transparency and high strength, polyacrylic acid, polymethacrylic acid, and lower alkyl esters thereof are preferred.

きる。 A recording layer 12 is formed on the inner surface of the substrate 11 so as to form a concentric ring centered on the center hole 11a of the substrate 11. The recording layer 12 is a thin layer of a light-reflecting material, and the light-reflecting material may be any material that can reflect a laser beam, such as Al or Te. Further, the thickness of the recording layer 12 is, for example, 5000 Å or less. Any method may be used to form the recording layer 12 on the surface of the substrate 11 as long as the recording layer 12 can be made into a thin layer having a uniform thickness, such as vacuum evaporation, sputter evaporation, and Vapor deposition methods such as ion vapor deposition can be mentioned.

なる。 The protective layer 13 is formed by applying an adhesive, such as an adhesive resin such as an epoxy resin or a rubber resin, to the surfaces of the substrate 11 and the recording layer 12 to a uniform thickness by an appropriate means such as spinner coating. The thickness of this protective layer 13 is, for example, 10 to 30μ.
m is coated to cover the entire surface of the recording layer 12 and also cover the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the recording layer 12 and a part of the substrate 11. After applying this adhesive, it is naturally dried for a predetermined time, for example, about 15 minutes, to harden to a desired value, and then the inner and outer spacers 14a, 14
b is the bonded part 1 of the adhesive on the opposite side to the substrate 11
It is attached to and glued to 3a. Therefore, there is a hollow portion 15 between the protective portions 13b of the adhesive.

どの優れた効果を有するものである。 Since the present invention is configured as described above, the protective layer can be formed with an adhesive, and the inner and outer spacers can be attached using this adhesive. It is economical because the steps can be performed simultaneously, the manufacturing process can be simplified, and manufacturing costs can be reduced. Further, when applying the protective layer to the recording layer and a portion of the substrate, a normal spinner coating can be used, and no special equipment is required. Furthermore, the thickness of the protective layer can be made uniform and the thickness can be easily controlled. Furthermore, since the substrate and the recording layer are reinforced by the protective layer, it has excellent effects such as increasing the mechanical strength of the information storage medium.
