DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION A. Field of Industrial Application The present invention relates to an insect repellent that has a feeding damage inhibiting effect on clothing pests. More specifically, the present invention is stable even at relatively high temperatures, does not have an adverse effect on plastics, metals, paints, etc., has low toxicity to the human body, and has excellent anti-feeding effects. The present invention relates to an insect repellent for clothing that has a good long-lasting effect. B. Prior Art Conventionally, p-dichlorobenzene has been widely used as an insect repellent for clothing because it has a strong insecticidal effect and is inexpensive. However, this p-dichlorobenzene is
It is an organochlorine-based chemical with a high vapor pressure, and has strong insecticidal power against textile pests at saturated concentrations, but when used in large quantities at high concentrations in a highly airtight environment, it has a characteristic odor and is harmful to the human body. It has the disadvantage that it has an undesirable effect on the polystyrene molded product, and that it alters and deforms the polystyrene molded product when it comes into contact with it. On the other hand, camphor is an insect repellent that has been used for a long time and is highly safe, and is in high demand especially as an insect repellent for Japanese clothing. There is a problem that it is lower than chlorobenzene etc. Therefore, various synergists for enhancing the insect repellent efficacy of camphor have been studied. Among these synergists, diphenyl (Japanese Patent No. 1262399)
and dihydroacetic acid (Japanese Patent No. 1247229),
Although it is an excellent synergist with a strong synergistic insect repellent effect against camphor, the former has a large melting point effect with camphor, and if the two are mixed and left for a long time, it will liquefy even at room temperature, causing contamination. The latter has no problem in terms of liquefaction, but even the high-purity products currently available as industrial chemicals are colored pale yellow and contain α, β-
Due to the presence of unsaturated carbonyl groups, there is a problem of deterioration when stored for a long period of time. C. Problems to be Solved by the Invention The purpose of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional synergist for camphor, to maintain its effect without liquefying or deteriorating over a long period of time, and to An object of the present invention is to provide an insect repellent for clothing that is highly safe for the human body. D. Means for Solving the Problems As a result of various studies on synergistic agents to be used in combination with camphor, the present inventor found that the combination of camphor and 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene can meet the above purpose. Based on this finding, we have completed the present invention. That is, the present invention provides an insect repellent for clothing containing a combination of camphor and 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene as an active ingredient. The 2,6 dimethylnaphthalene used in the insect repellent for clothing of the present invention is a colorless crystal with a melting point of 110°C and a boiling point of 261°C, and the mutagenicity test was negative and it is not carcinogenic. Special edition of “Material Edition”
No. 129, p. 131], and it is an easily biodegradable substance, so even if it is released into the natural environment, it will biodegrade easily, so it will not accumulate and cause environmental pollution [Aromatics Vol. 35, No. 11, 12, pages 1-6
p., 1983] and is a compound that can be used with confidence. Also, even if mixed with camphor and left for a long time, it will not liquefy. Furthermore, the 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene is
When used alone, it does not show any insect repellent effect against clothing pests, but when combined with camphor, it significantly increases the effect of camphor to suppress food damage to clothing pests, and exhibits the effect as a synergist. However,
Even when 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene is combined with naphthalene, its effect as a synergist is extremely weak. In this way, tricyclic aromatic hydrocarbons such as acenaphthene and fluorene do not exhibit a synergistic insect repellent effect even when combined with camphor, whereas the 2,6-
It was completely unexpected that dimethylnaphthalene exerted a strong synergistic effect on camphor. The optimal mixing ratio of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene to camphor depends on the sealability, size, material, etc. of the container used, but is usually selected in the range of 1 to 30% by weight based on camphor.
Since the vapor pressure of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene is lower than that of camphor, the content of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene tends to increase over time, so the initial mixing of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene If the ratio is too high, only 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene will remain after the camphor has completely evaporated, which is not preferable. However, if the amount is too small, the vapor of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene will not be diffused and will not have a sufficient effect on clothing pests, so the mixing ratio is preferably within the above range. E Effects of the Invention The insect repellent for clothing of the present invention is a combination of camphor and 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene as a synergist, and has an excellent feeding damage inhibiting effect on clothing pests. Not only does it have a long-lasting effect, it is safe with low toxicity to the human body, and it does not liquefy at all even if it is left mixed for a long time. It is also an extremely practical insect repellent for clothing, as it does not alter or deform plastic products such as polystyrene when it comes into direct contact with them, nor does it change the color tone of metal foils or paints. Examples Next, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples. Example 2 An insect repellent was prepared by mixing 2 g of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene powder and 100 g of camphor. Weigh 1 g of this insect repellent in a weighed bottle, place it on the bottom of a wide-mouthed glass bottle, cover the bottle, and leave it at room temperature for 1 hour. ) and wool standard cloth (2cm x 2
cm, 40-45 mg). Next, the wide-mouth bottle was sealed and left in a constant temperature and humidity chamber at 30°C and 65% humidity for 7 days, after which the wool was removed and the amount of feeding damage was measured. For comparison, 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene alone, camphor alone, 2,6-
A mixture of dimethylnaphthalene and naphthalene and naphthalene alone were also tested at the same time. The test was repeated five times, and the average value of the amount of feeding damage was determined. The results are shown in the table below. 【table】
