DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a printing method in which a film on which a transfer pattern is formed is brought into close contact with the surface of an object by hydraulic pressure, thereby transferring the pattern onto the object.

This type of printing method is disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 41682 of 1972, but since water is used as a liquid pressure application layer when using a swellable film such as polyvinyl alcohol, it is difficult to print on wood, paper, etc. It has been difficult to print objects made of hygroscopic materials.

In other words, if the liquid pressure application layer is entirely made of water, the hygroscopic printing material will be immersed in water for a considerable length of time during the transfer process, causing the printing material to absorb water, which will prevent the transfer pattern from adhering. This is because the transfer pattern may be blurred, or the transferred pattern may smudge, making printing impossible.

The method of the present invention will be explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes a known printing device, which includes a plate roller 1a for producing a photoengraved woodgrain pattern, an ink supply means for supplying printing ink or paint to the plate roller 1a, and an ink roller 1b, for example. a printing roller 1c such as a urethane roll to which a pattern is transferred from the plate roller 1a; a swellable film 2 in pressure contact with the printing roller 1c;
For example, a receiving roller 1d for feeding a film 2 made of polyvinyl alcohol, and an ink roller 1
The film 2 has an ink mixing roller 1e in contact with the printing roller 1c.
After the pattern is printed on the pattern printing side 2
It is sent to the transfer device 3 with a side facing up.

In the above, the film 2 may be wound into a roll and held, pulled out from one end and inserted between the printing roller 1c and the receiving roller 1d, or cut into a predetermined size in advance. It may also be sent to the single sheet printing roller 1c. And even when it is wound and held in a roll,
After printing, it may be sent to the transfer device 3 in a continuous form, or it may be cut into a predetermined length and sent to the transfer device 3.

The transfer device 3 is made of a liquid tank 31 with an open top surface and an object holding mechanism 32. Below the water layer 4, a hydrophobic liquid having a specific gravity higher than that of water, such as mercury, a low melting point alloy melted and liquefied, or a low melting point paraffin wax heated and liquefied, is formed below the water layer 4 so as to apply liquid pressure to the water layer 2. It is composed of a pressure application layer 4'.

The object holding mechanism 32 holds an object 5 whose surface is to be printed, for example, an object 5 made of wood, immerses it into the hydraulic pressure application layer 4', and after immersing it, pulls it up to recover the object 5. , and then the holding object 5 is replaced with a new object. The film 2 is sent to the liquid tank 31 with the printing side 2a facing up, and then spread out on the water layer 4 to swell, and then pressed by the object 5 descended by the object holding mechanism 32 as shown by the chain line. The pattern is immersed into the liquid pressure applying layer 4' as shown in FIG.

After the pattern printed surface of the film 2 is transferred to the object 5, the film 2 is removed from the surface of the object 5, thereby leaving the pattern on the surface of the object 5.

Thereafter, the object 5 that has undergone the transfer process in the liquid tank 31 is washed, dried, etc. in the finishing chamber 7, and then taken out. The film 2 may be removed, for example, by dissolving in the liquid tank 31, but usually a film removing device 6 is provided next to the liquid tank 31, and the film 2 is removed from the object 5 here.

In the method of the present invention, after the water-swellable film 2 is swollen by the shallow water layer 4 on the surface, the object 5 to be printed is immediately lowered onto the hydrophobic liquid pressure application layer 4'.
Here, since hydraulic pressure for transfer is applied to the transfer film 2, it is possible to swell the water-swellable film 2 and press the swollen film 2 against the object 5 using hydraulic pressure in an anhydrous environment. This can be done at the same time in the same liquid tank 31. Therefore, the contact time of the object 5 with water can be extremely shortened, and the water-swollen film 2 can be applied to the surface of the object 5 using hydraulic pressure without causing the object 5 to absorb water. Since the pressure contact can be made, there is an effect that transfer printing of the hygroscopic material to the object 5 can be performed well.

1. Print a pattern on a water-swellable film using paint, printing ink, etc., then float the film in a liquid tank with the pattern-printed side facing up, and then press an object against the film. In the printing method, the pattern is transferred to the surface of the object by the liquid pressure of the liquid tank, and the film is removed from the surface of the object after the transfer. The film is composed of a shallow water layer formed near the surface and a hydraulic pressure application layer formed below the water layer with a hydrophobic liquid having a higher specific gravity than water, and the film is spread on the water layer and allowed to swell. After that, the transferred surface of the object is immediately settled into the liquid pressure application layer to transfer the pattern to the transferred surface, thereby shortening the contact time between the transferred surface of the object and water.
